What guests think

Fairfield Inn & Suites Cherokee earns consistent praise for its walkable location across from Harrah's casino, while reviews also point to uneven experiences with housekeeping, room maintenance, noise control, and promised amenities that together create a mixed overall impression.

Many guests liked clean rooms and the hot breakfast, while others reported dirty bathrooms, mold, and inconsistent replenishment. Rooms draw repeated notes about hard or worn mattresses, noise from the road or other guests, and issues like broken window latches, A/C problems, and Wi-Fi/TV outages. Service is often friendly, though reports of rudeness, long waits, overbooking, and room-type downgrades appear; the pool was frequently closed or not as advertised. Expect a convenient base with variable upkeep and reliability.

The AC did not appear to be on in any of the hallways, thte pool was closed and the area around the hotel property was grown up and abandoned. This being said, the biggest issue was checking in. We were told the king room we reserved thru Expedia was not available. The check in person said if we were given a king room the rate would increase. The manager told us it doesn't really matter what you book thru Expedia, they only guarantee you a room. We were finally given a king room (manager said he would have to kick someone else out of the room) but the entire experience left a bad taste. .

I booked this property because it said it had an indoor pool. Will it didn’t. I was told corporate had not removed it on line. This was VERY DISAPPOINTING. I could have booked a hotel down the road that had one for less money. I will not stay there again.

Our family trip was good. I booked my room here because the site said it had a pool, this would be great for our children to keep them occupied while the others go to the casino. but when we checked in there was no pool. Other than that our stay was great.

Front desk was great. Rooms (we had two) were both filthy. Wives were afraid to step foot in either shower. Toilets had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Room did not appear to have been vacuumed. Good location, though. That might be what they are charging for.

Our hotel bathroom was dirty when we checked in. There was a used razor still in the shower as well as an opened can of shaving cream as if the cleaning staff never even touched the shower when cleaning. The towels had stains on them. And the staff were very rude. The only good thing about this hotel was how close it was to the casino.

I actually did leave a review earlier but through Marriot. The room wasn’t cleaned, the door did not shut properly when leaving. The next day after departure, I reported that Apple earbuds were left on the bed closest to window. No one called back say if found or not so I called back today. They said cleaning ladies hadn’t found it and that ‘they were good at that sort of thing’ - as good as following up with customer? - as good as cleaning room? The lady said she would transfer me to manager but I hung up after being on hold for a longer period than I had time for. It’s concerning because I know I used those earbuds only in the hotel room and I knew right away when unpacking that I left them. My fault for leaving them of course and I’m upset with myself but I really thought it wouldn’t be a problem finding them as they are in a case and not just small ear buds.

The room was a lockout with a family on the other side. Their child cried constantly while I was trying to take a nap in the afternoon. I was up late at Harrah's and excited to sleep in the next day. But the family in the room next to mine was up at 8 am with the same child running around and laughing. It sounded they were actually IN my room. I could hear their conversations clearly. Also, there were puddles of urine under the seat of the toilet. Clearly, the cleaning staff didn't bother to lift the seat while cleaning. For nearly the same price, I could have stayed at Harrah's. At nearly $300 for one night, this is the worst value in Cherokee (by far).

Spacious Room, friendly staff, comfortable bed and quiet. Only thing I was disappointed in was the shower. The tub area was extremely slippery and the shower curtain hung into the bottom of tub about 4 inches too long. It felt tight with the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers up at the front instead of the bottom end of the shower wall.

Overall a very nice hotel. All the staff were friendly & accommodating. Room was modern & clean. Continental breakfast was standard. Great location closest to Harrahs casino. Only negative was no soundproofing in room. Could hear person next door snoring during the night & we did not have a connecting room. Would suggest a top floor non connecting room. Ask the front desk to move us, they moved us to the 2nd floor and the window latches were also broken and the window didn’t lock, but being on the 2nd floor we kept this room. Would definitely recommend checking the windows if staying on the first floor.

I stay at this hotel quite frequently but I learned something new on this trip. Ne er stay at the end of the hotel closest to the road if you want a goid nights sleep. Traffic never stops going by and the side door never stops opening and then slamming shut. Stay at the back and on an upper floor.

Excellent customer service from the front desk at check in/checkout. Kitchen staff was super nice and helpful Room was clean and had all the necessities needed. Only reason for the 4 stars is due to the hard lumpy mattress which made for a restless night. My husband, who could sleep on a park bench and be comfortable, found the mattress to be uncomfortable. Hotel is located right across the street from the casino entrance which was super convenient.

The property is right across the street from Harrahs Casino and the theater. An easy 5 minute walk for an old handicapped person. The breakfast is very good, with a small but good variety. The only thing I didn’t like is the beds were small. I don’t know if it’s because it was a handicapped room? I guess they were full size, but not comfortable for two. I’m glad there were two beds.
