The room was impeccably clean and decorated. Loved the lobby filled with history. The shower was hot and Water pressure was amazing. However, my only concern was the bottom of the tub was slick, suggesting that rubber duckie adhesive would be nice. The balcony was great too, me and my husband sat on the balcony for a while taking in the view. We would be coming back, bringing our grand children next time. And if you’re a dirt race fan, there’s a track nearby totally worth watching. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to have dinner or drinks on the premises but the menu looked pretty good.

The staff was excellent and service in the Tavern was top notch. The Hotel is a beautiful and historical building . I was very disappointed at how run down our room was. The bedding was comfortable and room was very clean, but there is no ventilation and our shower had a lot of mildew on the top of the walls and the Bathroom door wouldnt shut as the door did not fit and the bottom of the door was completely rotten and painted over. The room had peeling paint on every wall and the ceiling also appeared to have some water damage. Also the 3rd floor windows so open and there is no screening. Beware if you have little ones.

There were several minor issues that were taken care of promptly, although the elevator was out the entire weekend. The air conditioning worked properly and the noise was very minimal. I was in the room next to the ice machine and you couldn't hear anything once the door was closed. The room was good and the bed was comfortable. Being able to walk to two of the areas of the park was also convenient. The front desk staff were pleasant and attentive. Breakfast was a slight disappointment in that the buffet was the only thing they served all three days. When I went in the first day and was told it was buffet only, I specifically asked if this would be the case the next day and they said no, Saturday is traditionally buffet only, but Sunday they allow for ordering from the menu. That was not the case. As there were a couple things I wanted to try, I was disappointed that I couldn't. Since the menu is in every room and posted outside the door, a simple sign saying buffet only when the menu was unavailable would have been appreciated. That said, the food was good, homemade, and they did a good job keeping it refilled. Only recommendation would be to invest in some mesh trays to keep the biscuit bottoms from overcooking on the hot tray and to elevate the bacon out of the grease. (Though the bacon was piled high and very crispy when not at the bottom.) But these are minor quibbles.

The front desk appeared to be helpful. Made promises to replace the coffee pot missing parts in our room. Went to eat and were told the problem would be handled when we got back. The person was no where to be found when we got back. So we had to find someone else to help after explaining it all over again. He was very helpful and handled everything we needed. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. It’s a historic hotel. So the building is old. But the beds and accommodations are up to date. I appreciate being able to book here when traveling to TN. Very reasonably priced. The cleaning staff could use some directions in cleaning under and around the things in the room. And vacuuming the hall carpet. The chair for the shower made it impossible to use in the shower. Or to shower at all for that matter. Hope they fix that before we return.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The property was clean and had unexpected amenities like board games in the main lounge. The wait staff in the tavern were especially friendly and helpful. We chose to eat there twice. As this was a place to stay for Liberty University's graduation, it was wonderful to keep the historic perspective for such a lovely area. The history is important and the scenic Natural Bridge is well preserved. It truly felt colonial.
