What guests think

At Ramada by Wyndham Luling, reviews repeatedly praise friendly staff but report widespread maintenance and cleanliness issues, including musty odors, worn interiors, and out-of-service amenities like a green pool, broken security doors, unreliable Wi‑Fi, and no elevator.

Rooms are generally dated with equipment problems such as nonworking TVs, weak air conditioning, limited hot water, and slippery tubs, though a few guests found them clean or comfortable. Breakfast feedback is mixed, ranging from great to very limited or unavailable, and location is often described as convenient to area activities. Expect basic lodging with friendly service but significant wear and inconsistent upkeep.

It wasn't great. The staff I commend. The rooms are old and stale. Need airing out. Refrigerator needed freon. Furniture is dated and they used one ply toilet paper. We went and purchased our own. The doors leading outside would not lock for security purposes.

It was an average hotel - nothing better, nothing worse. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. I was pretty tired from driving all day when I got there and they were really helpful, including moving me to a ground floor room (so I wouldn't have to climb stairs) without being asked. The only thing that needs to be substantially improved is their wifi service. It was unavailable (too many users) during high use times (evening) and even when I was able to get on it kept going off.

I chose Ramada because I used to think they were nice hotels but this one was horrible. No elevator so we had to drag our luggage up the stairs…no bottom floor rooms available. The carpet is totally gross…stained & sticky. Upon entering room, the smoke detector is laying by the TV with battery out. The floor in restroom was sticky & tub was all patched up. We couldn’t get the door bolt to work so I stacked stuff against the door. The light in the bathroom was wired incorrectly so one had to stay on all night…at this point I really wanted that smoke detector to work! I called to get free Wi-Fi name because I had the password but it was down & they were working on it…still not up when we left the next day. Definitely will not stay at Ramada again.

The hotel is in terrible condition and horrible, why is it on Hotels.com. We had no hot water in our room, we had a land-line phone that wasn't connected to anything, they would answer the phone when you called, no elevator, no ac in the halls on the 2nd floor, carpets were all stained and dirty, door look rotten on the bottom, walls had patches that weren't recent and not painted, the grass was tall, continental breakfast wasn't good and the pool was green...

Liked: Staff & Service- Polite & informative when asked about surroundings. Disliked: That the nearest Subway was closed at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. People standing around two back entrances at around 10pm when it’s dark. The side and back doors not locking so I didn’t have to use the key.

This hotel is in terrible condition and appears to have extensive flood damage. Several electrical outlets and the TV in our room didn’t work, at least two security doors (access by room key) were broken, and the smell of mildew was everywhere. The room was cleaned and appeared to have newer vinyl flooring and paint, but you could see water damage on the doors and in the hallways. Hallway carpets were so filthy it was gross, and the pool was unusable. It was unclear if the A/C was working in the reception and breakfast area. The staff was friendly and professional, but the owners should be ashamed for having them work in these conditions. We were shocked to see a hotel in this state of repair with the Wyndham name.

The room we were given seemed to have recent water damage. There was a damp moldy smell on all of the first floor. We requested a move to a different room, and got a better, not great, room. The new room still didn't smell good, but was better than the first. The bathtub was a little rusted, and carpets weren't clean. Overall, not a great experience.

Filthy hotel. The front staff as nice however the entire cleaning staff needs to be fired. The bathrooms were unclean and the linens were unwashed. The front desk needed to move us to four different rooms to finally find a clean room. I feel sorry that the front desk needs to apologize for how terrible their cleaning staff is. Beware only a few receive full internet service rooms.

The staff was very kind and attentive. The main issue was the lack of cleanliness. The room had an awful smell, the sheets had other people's hairs on them, the shower curtain was moldy, and the floors were damp. My standards aren’t very high for hotels in general, but the smell was insane. Karen up front was wonderful, though!

The property itself was fine for what I was in town for. The room was decent but needs new carpet throughout the property and I don't believe the stairwell you have to use to get to the second floor was cleaned the entire week. My biggest issue is having to walk by the guys in the parking lot smoking marijuana lot every day as I walked to my room. I would not bring my family to this hotel.
