We stayed for one night, along with other family members, the night before our cruise. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the lobby, the breakfast area, and our rooms. Everything was neat, tidy, and immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the room and surrounding area was very quiet. Breakfast was good and offered a lot of different choices. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The free shuttle to the cruise port was an added bonus!

We arrived 6 hours late due to flight delays from a storm. I called ahead to state we would arrive late and the staff were very accommodating and noted our delayed arrival for the next staff coming on duty. Greeted with a warm smile when we finally arrived. They also provided free transportation to our ship the next morning. 😀👍

Pool area lacks cleanliness. Pool needs to be updated, chairs look old and dirty, that area needs some plants or some type of decorative. Especially on the window where you can see the lobby. Something needs to be placed there so that you don’t see the people in bathing suits. Reasons why we didn’t get in.

Didn’t like that the pull out had no sheets or pillows or anything in the room. Phone didn’t work in the room. When I called the front desk from my phone I was told I would have to come get the pillows and blankets myself. No towels in the room which again, I was told I had to go get myself. Other than that it was ok. Just expected a little more effort from the employees and that stuff to already be in the room especially since I wasn’t early or anything like that.

We arrived 3 hours early after driving 14 hours nonstop. I went in asking if it was possible to check in early, expecting no t be the answer. I was immediately greeted by Ridell.. He greeted me with a smile and said “let me check”. “Your room is ready now and we are here to put a smile on your face.” We then chatted a bit as we learned I was from the state he was born and raised. He was just so nice and kind and made me feel a welcome. The property itself is very, very well maintained and so clean! It’s very up to date and the beds are very comfortable. If I am ever in this area again, I know exactly where I will be staying! I highly recommend this property!! It gets a solid 10 out of 10. Thank you Ridell! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pretty decent hotel, expensive for not a lot of amenities. It was very clean and the beds/pillows were super comfy. The staff seemed like they were having a bad day, they weren’t mean, but they just didn’t talk, no interaction at check in, no customer service experience. When we came back after going to the Hard Rock at 12:30 the front door to the hotel was locked, no Way to use your key to get in. So we just kind and of sat outside for a minute or so trying to figure out what we were supposed to do. Finally the front staff came and opened the door, didn’t say anything and just turned around. I said “thank you so much and she didn’t even acknowledge us or respond. It was actually really weird. We went up to our room and changed so walk over to the WaWa right beside the hotel and as we were walking out she was behind the front desk folding something. I said “we’re going to WaWa real quick, will we be able to get back in. She again never acknowledged our presence or our question, she just kept looking down folding whatever it was. It was actually really odd and uncomfortable.

I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and consideration of the staff here at Holiday Inn Express Tampa East! Kash, the manager was amazing with assisting us with our cruise parking. His generosity and concern went above and beyond!! Antonia answered the first phone call when I inquired about the hotel and cruise parking availability. I had the pleasure to meet her upon check in and she was such a gracious host! Without the way she answered the phone, we would not have booked here. Rachel must also be mentioned for her care and attention. With her assistance I feel so comfortable leaving my brand new car here for our cruise. The hotel 10/10! Clean, excellent free breakfast and large rooms! I can tell that the hotel has been completely remodeled or newly built. Will stay here again for certain and you will not be disappointed when you book. Take advantage of their hospitality!

You know you're in a bad area when the convenience store locks the beer cooler. Scary loiterers all over the area, not just the Wawa's. I drove 2 miles to buy a beer than literally walk to the Wawa's. Scary people always just hanging out there. Didn't go there for anything except gas. Scary neighborhood and I don't think it's anywhere near MLK Jr Blvd.
