Hotel is under renovation. Room should not of been booked. Construction was outside our door and started at 7:30am. Poor housekeeping and hotel was dirty. Great potential but hotel should be shut down while being renovated.

Not worth coming back. Disappointing experience! Beautiful facade and view on the outside but the accomodation is another story. I expected a pleasant experience because paying $600++ / day was quite above the usual rate of equally nice hotels in Europe or elsewhere with more captivating and historical stories. Personal observations: Pros: 1. Staff were very nice (because some were new to the job and from other countries) 2. Very good food Cons: 1. Rooms will not be cleaned nor bed be made if staying for only 2 days 2. Internet was not working at all 3. Furniture is scuffed and outdated 4. No chair to sit on 5. No drinking water (you have to buy at the coffee shop) 6. No fridge 7. Plastic cups (expensive hotels use real glass) 8. Very poor amenities 9. Only one side of the bed has a side table 10. No AC 11. Creaky doors that doesn’t fit thus will make a loud bang when forced to closed

Lots of construction but still had fun. Excited to see what it all looks like finished up! The wine bar is absolutely amazing. The staff in the wine bar is even better, kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable. We had so much fun

Room wasn’t ready at 4pm check in and I got stuck in the elevator and had to call 911 to get the fire department to come save me. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had and on top of that the price of crap room costed $400+

The Stanley Hotel is going through major renovation now for the new film center and room expansion. We were offered a room in the Lodge since the main hotel was completely booked. This would have been no problem ordinarily, but with the construction work, we should have been notified that we had absolutely no view or privacy from the windows in our room. Also, because of the construction, parking near the hotel was severely limited, and no guidance was offered regarding alternatives when the lot was full. This was an issue especially in September with the almost daily rains. Secondly, the hotel staff had no information to offer guests about why the construction was happening and details of all of the exciting new things that would soon be coming to the hotel. There were no architectural renditions or models to showcase the new look or marketing materials to get people excited to come back in the future. This seems like a significantly missed marketing opportunity.
