What guests think

Across recent reviews, Hollister Inn comes through as a simple, older budget motel with generally friendly, welcoming staff and comfortable beds, delivering basic rooms at reasonable prices, though upkeep and age show in places.

Cleanliness feedback is mixed: many found rooms very clean, while others reported dirty linens, worn furnishings, or occasional mold and dust. Rooms are dated and functional; guests note useful in-room basics like fridge and microwave and decent Wi-Fi, alongside intermittent maintenance issues such as weak water pressure, broken fixtures or outlets, and loud A/C. The location is convenient for visits to Pinnacles and near casual dining; most found rooms quiet, though a few noted street noise or disruptive guests, and amenities are basic with parking and a modest laundry. Overall, expect a no-frills stop with uneven maintenance but good value.

My coffee maker didn’t work. They gave me another one that didn’t work. They had a laundry facility. The wash machines had dirt caked up around the door.

Clean, quiet, comfortable. A great budget friendly stop on the way to Pinnacles. It’s a 2 star motel so it’s nothing fancy but for the price you can’t beat it. Fridge, microwave and coffee in room. Could not hear and street noise. Check in staff was friendly.

We had a very positive experience. It was amazingly quiet and very clean. Plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable. Nice table for two for breakfast with window with shutters, not standard hotel drapes. The fridge had a large freezer compartment, which we did not use but should have! Tub! Ice! Staff was nice. Right on the main drag but no car noise where we were. Everyone was up and out early and we didn't hear anyone leaving. Cheery yellow accent wall. Wifi was great and easy to access. Only things that might have been nice add-ins: tub plug (used towel), second coffee packet in room, real half and half or milk instead of powdered. The areas where the coffee maker was, above the microwave had a layer of dust. Other than that, everything was spotless!

Very comfortable bed and great pillows. The towels were soft and the fan and heat worked well. The building is older but we had a very comfortable nights stay conveniently located just 40 min from the East entrance to Pinnacles National park . I accidentally left my phone charger behind and the office staff was helpful and kind when I returned many hours later to pick it up.

This motel is kind of right up my alley for travel. Checked in with my girlfriend hammered after a wedding and the staff was more than gracious to me. I believe a lot of the negative reviews probably come from before the hotel was bought, maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I would say the only thing that could be improved is the water pressure and the bathroom needs a little love. The beds were actually very, very comfortable along with fast Internet and great TV. It was also quiet. We didn't see any bugs in room 140.

Traveled about 100 miles to attend the Northern California Renaissance Faire, and spent one night. This hotel was well-located for our needs, quiet, clean, basic but comfortable enough, felt safe for myself and my friend, both women. The young woman who checked us in was very nice. A/C was on the noisy side, but effective. Only thing was the outlet near the bed was not working. I didn't realize this when I plugged in at bedtime, so in the morning my phone was dead.

Checking in was a nightmare, the woman in the office was rude as hell. Then the TV in my room didn't work, when I went to report it and get another room I was treated as if I'd just stolen something. I should have turned around and left but after my drive I was falling asleep and needed a bed. I'll never be back there!

The stay was good, quiet. If anybody says road noise keeps them awake they're full of nonsense you can't hear the road. The shower/bathtub faucet controls were broken and not existent I had to take a sponge bath. Took too long for hot water to get to the sink. That's unacceptable. Staff is excellent I will stay there again.
