What guests think

At Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley, reviews describe an older stop just off the interstate, with generally friendly staff and a simple hot breakfast, though the condition of some facilities and parts of the property shows its age.

Many find rooms serviceable yet dated, with hard beds, occasional door-lock or HVAC noise issues, and some highway noise. Cleanliness feedback ranges from very clean rooms to reports of odors, smoke, damp carpets, or pests. Location is convenient for Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park, though walkable dining is limited and the onsite restaurant has been closed. Expect a value stay with trade-offs.

When we entered the premise - the man at the reception was as rude and not at all welcoming. As we were asking him for a room to stay.. . We had prepaid our hotel stay - but this guy was as if in a never mind attitude. The hotel does not have a pool and it says that they have pool. The pool was not functioning. I would say you will get better hotels to stay than this. recommend not to go

There were signs saying they were updating, but there was no working elevator, and to even get to the first floor rooms you had to climb stairs from the lobby if you couldn’t do stairs, you would have to go outside all the way around the building and in a side door. When I checked in he kept saying I needed to park around back, where it was incredibly dark. I asked about the empty ones on the side under the street lamp and he reluctantly said it was okay. The door to the room stuck and was hard to make sure it was latched. The tub was not cleaned because there was an old bar of soap on top of the shampoo dispensers. The floor had not been vacuumed because I found dried dirt clots. The mattress was not top quality . For the price I paid I would expect at least those things. I feel like the price point was more fair to be around $70 a night not over $150.

Interesting property. In its heyday, it would have really been something special with lots of Rooms, small banquet room and an attached restaurant. But now the banquet room is the breakfast room, and the restaurant is a game Room—foosball, pool, old time video games (including PacMan!). That’s all to say this is an older hotel that has been somewhat updated. Double beds instead of queen, carpeted floors in rooms (even dog rooms) and hallways. Has both front (parking lot) and back (inside corridor) doors. Our outside key didn’t work when we got here (inside key did work) and the staff member on duty immediately contacted the maintenance guy who fixed it right away. Room was clean, WiFi worked well, TV was good, plenty of hot water, and some great areas for walking our dogs. Breakfast was good with options from cereal/toast to biscuits and gravy or waffles and hard boiled eggs. A dual Plus and minus was its location off the interstate, easy access to the hotel but we could really hear the truck traffic all night. Good for a night’s stay while we were traveling

We were very pleased about the property. One concern the ice machine, on the floor near the lobby, was not working. The agent at the front desk was okay. Had some answers to our questions but others nothing. Example: The TV was not working. He offered to move us but we were settled in. He then gave us the password and when used it the TV worked fine. Other then that things were wonderfull. Charles and Phyllis Clifford

the first room they put us in smelled literally like a decaying animal body. The second room they put us in had trash still on the bedside stand and pubic hair on the floor in the bathroom. That room was never even wiped down or swept. It was literally the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed.

The staff was very friendly. The beds were very hard, very uncomfortable. We put towels on the bathroom floor because it looked dirty. There was a long black hair in the tub, the shower head was full of hard water and the water temperature was too hot. The biggest issue was with the door to the room. Somehow the security thing flipped and we were unable to get in. They had a crowbar to open the door, and it apparently happened before because there were already marks on the door.

This property was in kind of an unsafe area, and when I couldn’t get the key to work, the front desk guy originally refused to help. Turns out it was a bad key. Also, it was a nearly empty hotel, but there was this insane spotlight shining directly into my room, illuminating it completely. They could have either fixed the light or given me a different room. Sketch vibes.
