Great hotel within walking distance of major monuments & has scooter parking outside. Hotel has NO parking and valet was over $70 a day, or you can use the paid city parking garage across the street if you can get a spot for $23 a day.

It is clean, safe and the area is very accessible on places you wanted to see. The only thing that I don’t like was the valet parking was bad. We’ve waited for more than an hour to bring our car when it was time for us to check out. We’ve wasted one hour waiting until I complained in the front desk that we’ve waited for more than an hour. We were traveling and that one hour wait messed up our schedule. I hope that they will improve the valet parking or probably give their customer option for valet or self parking.

I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent stay. Upon check-in, I was informed of a mandatory $30 per night fee, presented as a prepayment for food and drinks, which I found unwelcome. Throughout my stay, dirty plates were left in the hallway on my floor from Saturday until my departure on Monday. The elevator next to the large mirror also had prominent graffiti above the floor buttons. While my room was generally clean, the white sheets appeared gray. Most concerning was an incident on Sunday when my children and I were in the elevator with two escorts openly discussing their activities. These issues significantly detracted from my experience.

Property was fine, but we saw a roach in our first room. They moved us to another room, and there was a roach there too. The last room on the 4th floor was an allergy room and we loved that room as it was nice, clean and no roaches. The manager who took care of us at checkout was very accommodating an comped the $71 per night parking and apparently a property fee I was not aware of, so I was happy about that. Overall, it's a nice property in a nice area, with great staff, but biggest problem was the roaches.

It’s a close hotel to the White House and all the monuments and memorials. Room was dirty. It hasn’t been vacuum in a long time. The exhaust fan for bathroom was full of dust. There is a big lack of cleaning in the rooms.

We liked the location, and the hotel appears to be recently updated. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness. Upon arrival, we found hair on the bed sheets, and the bathroom had noticeable hair and pubic hair throughout.

We arrived late Friday night 4/19 where we checked in and immediately went to sleep from the road trip. Upon waking in the morning my fiance attempted to make herself some coffee when saw coffee stains on the cup lid and coffee maker. She then attempted to shower which alerted her to the lime and grime in the shower and around the floor of the toilet. She immediately took pictures and addressed it to the front desk. I find it very unfair for someone to make a full payment for a used and partial ready room.

The location can't be beat. The room was a bit older, but there was plenty of light (interior view of another building though). It did have an odd shape to it, kind of an L - which is fine, but made the TV at one end, and the bed at another. In my room, there was limited workspace, so I wasn't able to work in the room much - went to a cafe instead. I have walked by this hotel many times during trips to DC but never stayed. For the price, there are better options if what you're looking for is the best appointed room. But if you're needing to be right by the White House it's a solid option.

The only things we didn’t care for was the small size of the bathroom and only one chair in the room. Also, it would be nice to have an area outdoors with seating to enjoy the some fresh air!

Hotel was nice. The room I was assigned was not the same room booked but I was ok with that. The air in the room would not cool the room. I put Thermostat to 65 degrees but room wouldn’t get cooler than 76 degrees. I called the front desk to see if someone could come look at it. Had to call 6x before someone answered. I was told someone would come look at it and that was at 10:30pm. I feel asleep at 11 and no one ever came. I woke up at 7am sweating. I immediately got up and got ready to check out. Don’t think I’ll stay again due to the service

The assigned room was very small and awkward,,, the TV was on the wall on the side of the bed, not in front, so in order to view while in bed, one would have to lay on its side and the other would have to look over the other person (very awkward). The bathroom was also quite tiny. This was our 2nd visit in 3 years; thank God we were in the room only to sleep, shower and get dressed.

Expedia does a good job in the pictures and marketing however at the front desk the staff said the room has a good view however I was disappointed as the view from the window was a plain roof with some empty cups :-(

First time in DC, great hotel! Staff was excellent. First night we arrived, tv didn't work. Engineer quickly came and diagnosed the problem. Got us an upgraded room for the inconvenience. 10/10 would recommend.

I had a rough experience. When I arrived at 11:00 pm, there was no room available/over booked. They sent me to Timbuktu / Rockville. The staff person said it would take $5 minutes to get to my alternate hotel for night 1. I wasn’t given a choice to book something closer. What actually happened was it took 30 min to get there, 55 minutes to return the next day. I only got 4.5 hours sleep. I was late for my first leg visit of the day. Theresa was the only staff person who made this experience better. If not for her I would have given 2 stars. She gave me: free bfast, free glass of wine, late checkout. I wasn’t charged for the first night and reimbursed for the Uber rides to and from Rockville. Would I stay here again? Probably. I’m just more tired than I should be at the end of the trip and I was late for an impt mtg. I left this review to give a huge shout out for Theresa!

I spent one night at the Capital Hilton in DC on a quick business trip. It’s a very well-run business hotel in a convenient location in downtown Washington. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable, but Theresa Thomas, at the font desk provided superb service. I highly recommend this property.

The room and all areas of the hotel were very clean and well organized. The staff was very professional and friendly. A special shout-out to Kamal, who greeted us outside the hotel when we got there and was incredibly helpful in getting us oriented, watching our car while we checked in and cleaned up to leave for our appointment, and helping us with the parking options and situation around the hotel.

Friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately, some problems with housekeeping staff not completing minimum requirements for room cleaning over the 7 nights we were there. Even with the generous tip I was leaving daily.

This is a review directed to the management. You must promote Frank (at the front desk). I have never seen such an amazing and great customer service in a while. Frank checked me in and was very kind, patient, and thorough in his instructions about the whole stay, amenities and other important "know before you go" information. And he did all this quickly and efficiently while helping other clients simultaneously. Other colleagues of mine have shared also how he was impressive. Frank is very helpful and thoughtful. I truly appreciated my stay at the Capital Hilton. I will stay there during my next trip.

Not enough staff in the front counter. There was a lineup regardless of the time of day. Also, there was no safety box in the room. After calling twice and were told they were going to come up and check. We waited 45 minutes, no one showed up. I had to go to the front desk and notify them of the situation. Finally repair staff installed a new one inside the cabinet below tv. 😞

This was a nice, clean, hotel in a great location. The only qualm I had was the upcharge, especially for room service, in which you were charged a service fee plus additional for any cutlery or plates needed. Food is dropped off in a paper bag, not standard room service you would anticipate with the associated charge. Else, my original statement still stands- this is a tried and true Hilton and you get the classic experience you come to expect and appreciate.

So it's a wonderful hotel in a great location with a handsome lobby, nicely appointed (and quiet) rooms with comfortable beds. But they have a 'gotcha' policy that just ruins the experience. You see, you book the room on Expedia by clicking the room with the price, you pay the price, and you think you are done. But then you show up at the hotel, and they have an extra 'destination fee' of $30/night that you had no idea about. Now I am sure of three things: 1) Their lawyers have crafted the listing so that there was enough notice of it somewhere so that it is legal, 2) the fee is not obvious when you are booking (certainly it's not part of the room rate), and 3) the situation of (1) and (2) suits the managers just fine. Ok, so what does the destination fee get you? Well, a Lyft voucher of $15, which is actually useful. But mostly, it is a credit towards the property's restaurants. Ok, maybe you just end up with a breakfast, right? Well, no. First off, the credit for the first night ends that evening, so woe unto you if you come in late. The one for the next night does begin in the morning, but the breakfast buffet is $37/person -- and is pretty ordinary. You can order a la carte, but the prices are still nearly double what the cafes in the neighborhood charge for much better food. In all, you just get the feeling of property managers lowballing on the headline rate and then tacking on extra charges. For a nice hotel, it just leaves a sour taste in one's mouth.

Clean, central location to White House and other sites. Restaurant had fantastic wings. A bit pricey for food and drink, but felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. I did not use the hotel parking as it is expensive. I parked a few blocks away and paid $30 total for 2 days.

The restaurant did not even say what was available and made me order the costliest food. The same was true with the bar. The shower curtain was not up to the standard. Overall, the space was overly rated and was the costliest.

Great hotel, super clean and great staff. Only issue was that there is an automatic destination fee (you get a $25 food and beverage credit and a $10 Lyft credit per day), but we weren’t told about it at checkin and missed two days that we could have used (the credit doesn’t roll over and accumulate).

Its a beautiful hotel and everyone provided great guest service. The only concern is the room with one bed was small, but neat and clean. The biggest concern was the food was ridiculously over priced. It was way more then the $25 daily expense. The $25 only covered breakfast for one person. I would have to go elsewhere for dinner and lunch. But other than that it was a nice stay.
