What guests think

Across recent reviews, Hotel Vervana, Trademark Collection by Wyndham draws praise for renovated, spacious rooms and a convenient location near downtown, while repeated comments note ongoing construction, confusing signage, and inconsistent operations like closed pools, limited staffing, and uneven amenities.

Many guests describe staff as friendly and accommodating. Cleanliness and maintenance are mixed, with reports of musty odors, plumbing problems, key-card issues, and dark or worn common areas alongside plenty of clean, refreshed rooms. Breakfast is not offered and lobby coffee can be unreliable. Best suited to simple, short stays rather than amenity-rich trips.

The hotel was nice since some renovations were done. Room was comfortable. Had a small issue with room and hotel manager made good and provided a new room without any questions. Hotel has tennis court and swimming pool. Location was convenient to our weekend activities.

This is a mixed bag. Start with positive... GREAT location and the room itself was very nice and pretty much brand new. The woman that checked us in was very nice. Not much staff interaction after that. There is no elevator and that was a bit of a surprise. There was an elderly couple checking in at same time as us and we saw them struggling. The property is under construction/renovation - so, lobby was unfinished as well as the stairs. There is a basement to the property and the damp smell from that area in the stairwell is VERY noticeable. The parking lot and ramps to the hotel are badly deteriorated, so interferes with rolling bags. Finally - and most annoying - the signage is terrible. There is a big sign at the road but when you turn in, it is unclear which building(s) are the hotel. We circled twice before finding. They really should remedy that. Keep in mind, not many hotel options near town center - so this could be a "go-to" option once they finish construction and address the (temporary) drawbacks.

Property was very hard to find. There is a big sign by the road but then nothing else. It’s hidden in the back behind another building. It looks like it could be an apartment complex without a sign.

The rooms are nice. Loved the renovations done but they are already getting a little worn. The buildings are just old! With no elevators!! Landscaping around the buildings really needs a lot of work too. I was excited about enjoying pool but it looked very dirty. Especially in the deep end. We felt the water was too dirty to even swim in. Bennington has been a favorite destination for us for years. The mountains are gorgeous. The old buildings are fascinating and beautiful, but I was shocked by how run down Main St has become. There was dog poop everywhere on the sidewalks and around most of the sidewalk trees. Many of the store fronts were vacant. The saving graces were the people who did have shops and restaurants. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming..

We chose this property because it had a pool. It was summer and the pool was full of dead leaves. We were told it was “seasonal”. Perhaps it opens in the winter?

The entire building smells like mildew. The room smelled worse and felt like no one had been there in years. I was going to just stop and rest there, but left my key in the room and chose to just drive straight home. I could not stay in that room for more than 30 seconds.

The property was clearly a different brand hotel previously and the renovations were sloppy and portly done. Messy paint job in our bathroom with black paint spots on the yellow tile, no handle to open patio door, holes visible in the door where the old knobs were prior to Wyndham ownership, etc. the property is tired and old feeling despite being ‘renovated. The bed was very comfortable though and the location was great.

Was not easy to find. The property signs were visible but the property is up a hill behind another property. The signage provided no indication of that. I was sent a message and completed the pre check in online but there was no knowledge of that when I arrived despite having taken a picture of my license prior to arrival and having given all the information on the pre arrival check in earlier that day. This raised so suspicion on my part. I was given a key after providing all the information to the person at the desk. All I was told was I was in the building next door. No other information was offered. The room was adequate for a short stay.

Upgrades done are good. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a MAJOR issue with room key reader that needs to be addressed immediately. We had group of 36 guys stay for mid week golf trip. They were very accommodating but I had to have my key re-programmed 8 times in 3 days and several others needed reprogramming throughout our stay. Overall recommend this hotel for a stay. There was nobody at the "front desk" when I checked in nor when I checked out. The front desk/lobby was not easy to find, so signage, nobody there when we arrived. The hotel was listed at 15 miles away from the location I put into Expedia. It was acutally 28 miles away. It had snowed on the night before we left. We checked out at 1:00 PM and the parking lot was still not plowed.

Check in experience was difficult. The office is not marked, The hotel buildings themselves have no Vervana markings. The only signage is at the road. We found the office by asking someone we found in the parking lot and were asked by two others where the office was. Once we found the office, the check-in was fine. The hallways are paneled in dark painted wood, making them under-lighted and depressing. I understand that they are not quite finished with their remodel, but temporary signage in a place that looks more like an apartment complex is important.
