Excellent resort. You will be happy you stayed here or you book early enough for a good price. The ocean is too strong for anyone but good swimmers to go in the water here though. Nobody really goes in for that reason so that's a big negative. The daily evening shows are excellent and memorable. The Aztec/Mayan show was the best. It was so good. Some easy things the hotel can do to make it a much better experience is better communication. For instance, the signage says there's all night snacks until 7am but it's actually only until 1am. It's fine if that's the case but update the signage. Also, improve the room service communication. The front desk did not seem to know how it actually worked regarding price, hours, or where to see the menu. Eventually found the link but the room service menu wasn't working. Just little things like that. Honestly, it's mostly the front desk communication that needed to be improved. Might have been only this one lady that didn't know anything and eventually she was on nights instead of days (maybe for that reason?) Overall, excellent resort for our price we booked it at, buffet was great, all the servers were amazing. Rooftop lounge was amazing. It was a very excellent experience. The ocean experience was a real negative but if you're a good swimmer or dont mind walking much further down the beach than it's fine. My wife and I had a wonderful time!!

La amabilidad de todos desde quien te te recibe, (Mauricio), maleteros, los meseros (as) de super 10, condiciones del inmueble, el sky bar de 10,000. hermoso y el barman muy ameno, personal de las cenas de verdad muy amables, muchas gracias. Lo que no me gusto es que la alberca es pequeña y la gente se apropia de todos los camastros apartándolos y abandonándolos, hay pocos, mejor poner sillitas de playa en todo el derredor, caben más personas, el agua de la alberca en el derredor del bar es turbia, hay un solo baño y está un poquitín lejos, el área de la playa está un poco descuidada, delimitarla bien aplanarla y cuidarla. Desgraciadamente se pierden las cosas, ojala hubiese cámaras o un vigilante pues vas para meterte al mar y mientras tanto se llevan tus cosas.

Overall Review - Great experience especially for cost but I’d say it’s more of a 3/3.5 star resort - Staff are wonderful - Always clean - Right on the beach - Quieter resort which is nice - Love that there’s a kids pool too - Shows are pretty good - just an older audience that’s why it doesn’t seem as ‘hype’ (Mexican traditional singing & dance, fire show (so cool!), karaoke, singers) - almost always food options (buffet, food truck, pizza, snack bar) - I feel like there could’ve been better signage on the menu at the snack bar - seemed to be some confusion - Towel service was great and easy - Drinks are good and the pool bar is fun too - very accessible to walk around town and c convenience store right down the street - Gym is decent , few machines , some benches you can’t adjust. They maintain the cardio machines well but the free weights/machines can use an upgrade - Hot tub closed - Only one ‘sit in’ restaurant - Only 2 menu themes (Mexican/Italian) - Buffet is good mostly average but still good - tended to be a lot of repetitive food Excursions: - we did the city tour - Overall, still a good experience, but some of the stops felt like they were just trying to get us to buy things - Tequila tasting was a highlight. Great spot. Good to really good entertainment and food for the kids. Buffet can get busy and loud at peak times. Only one main pool to enjoy with your family. The staff is amazing and very nice. This resort is close to other places and activities around PV.

The staff was always awesome, friendly and kind. The buffet was good, great variety plus food at the pool and a casual food truck spot toi. The pools and swim up bar were great, the beach is great, location is great. My only complaint is that the room was cleaned but had a strong mold smell, as well as some areas in the hallway. It's humid so the air conditioning has to be on at all times or the room gets very damp. It's an old hotel so that may be a factor in that issue. The smell was my only issue.

We got locked out of our room door on two different occasions, two days in a row. We went down to reception and the manager excused herself saying that she had to run to the next door property to help check in of a big group and she didn’t take care of our issue as we were locked out. The first time 30 mins and second time 40 mins. The maintenance took their sweet time and couldn’t figure it out. Another person simply couldn’t recode the door programming and we had to go down multiple times to ask them what was going on. They reprogrammed our card keys and finally after this all the third day, the door worked. Huge issue with having us wait outside our room door. The manager Paulina knew our issue and claimed that she had no idea. She did not even allow us to check out at 1pm, when we were asking to do late checkout she simply argues with me stating that she needs the room, so, I had to ask for 12pm. She says sorry, but never took our issue seriously and helped us at all. The second day I had to speak to another manager Efrain who helped us, offered us to changed rooms however the fact that we were left out twice for more than an hour already made us upset. The bathtub is all cracked and dirty. The air conditioning works ok, stayed cool. If you need or want WIFI, there is NO WIFI at all in the rooms. You have to go to lobby or pool area to get any connection. We kept on getting kicked out of the wifi and had to reconnect dozens of times. OLD HOTEL! LOTS OF COCKROACHES!

El personal muy amable. Las instalaciones están bien en general. La habitación de buen tamaño, sólo le falta mantenimiento, especialmente a la grifería del baño. Problema con el control de plagas. Agradable, seguro, tranquilo, comida buena, excelente el bar.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The room was extremely unclean, with dead flies left on the table, torn towels, and ceiling vents that were covered in dust and visible mold. The entire building and my room smelled of mildew, and the situation was made worse by the fact that the ceiling was visibly covered in black mold. This is not just a cleanliness issue—it's a serious health concern. The state of the room was unacceptable, and it's clear that maintenance and cleaning protocols are lacking. I did not feel safe or comfortable during my stay, and the condition of the room made it impossible to relax. I strongly recommend that management address the mold issue, improve cleaning standards, and ensure that rooms are properly inspected before guests check in. I will not be returning to this hotel and would advise others to avoid it until these serious issues are resolved.

This is a small resort that is partly timeshare owners. We found that the staff in the food & beverage areas were excellent. The disappointing part is that the staff at the front desk were close to being rude. The rooms are definitely dated with chips in the bathtub and mirror, however you don't spend much time in your room so we didn't think this was an issue. Though it's an all inclusive, the restaurant charges for food! The buffet is free though and though small, they do a good job of trying to mix it up. I would go back, but if you are looking for more food options or a larger place, this isn't for you.

The resort definitely needs some upgrading. My room did look like the images on the website, but the bathroom was VERY outdated. The water in the shower was warm at best, never hot at any time of day. The room also smelled like mold which I realized was coming from the decorative pillows on the beds. The AC in the room was great. The pool and beach area was decent and clean. The food was fine, but nothing outstanding. The wait staff was very kind and helpful. The wifi only worked in some areas of the common areas, not in my room. My phone also didn't work in the room. The resort is very close to town and on a bus route. Uber and Taxi were also available here.

For the amount of money we paid we expected better. In the states, this would’ve been a $60 hotel!! we paid over $200 for the one night stay. And we’re grateful we weren’t there any longer! Hardly anyone on staff spoke English, our toilet didn’t flush, sink fixtures, detached upon touching, the unit had a stove top, but not even a mini fridge or any utensils, plates, etc., to go along with it. Be all you can eat. Food buffet was only mediocre as well.

For being a low budget resort it was not bad at all. Customer Service was great. Food was good, waiters were excellent! Pool was a bit crowded but good. Rooms, this is where the hotel fell short. A/C was not working at its potential. No mini fridge to at least to keep your beverages cold. Rooms outdated for sure, needs TLC. I did manage to see a couple riches the first night. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if rooms at least had a mini fridge.

Rooms: Upon check in we are assigned a Queen standard room despite confirming a king studio. we were told to come back the next day to see if a king studio was available. The next day the king studio was available so we were moved into a different room. On day 7 we found a cockroach in our bathroom (yuck!) The standard rooms do not have refrigerators. I would recommend if you are booking this property to book a studio or higher level room as the standard rooms are not as nice and are in a noisier part of the hotel. This is a family friendly hotel so if you are looking for a relaxing quiet property this may not be the hotel for you. There were lots of children and families on vacation at Staff: Very friendly and accommodating. Food: A la cartes were terrific. The buffet is okay but after a few days it feels like the same thing over and over. We were there 10 days and after day 4 it felt the same. Location: Not far from the airport. Maybe a 10 min taxi ride. The area appears to be safe it's in close walking distance to public transit so it's easy to go to different parts of PVR if you're comfortable on the bus. Pool: Despite the pool attendant cleaning the pool each day it was sort of gross. It was foamy and like an oil slick on top. At times it looked murky too. They need to up the filtration or something. The pool deck was not swept or pressure washed during our 10 days there. There are pigeons everywhere too trying to steal food, very annoying.

El hotel en general bien, si volvería. La comida aunque no hay mucha variedad tiene muy buen sazón. Albercas y acceso a playa excelente. Bebidas 8de10. En la habitación las camas son demasiado duras, igual que las almohadas, encontramos una cucaracha la primera noche y el sensor de humo pitaba cada minuto desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos, fue muy latoso. Se tiene acceso a la alberca del hotel plaza pelícanos, pero eso no te lo dicen hasta que tú preguntas. Terrible señal de teléfono y de internet. Solo hay wifi en lobby. Señal de internet y de celular solo en las afueras del hotel. En los cuartos es malísima la señal.

I was a bit surprise by the room. It was not as modern as pictured. No fridge, air conditioning blasting, coffee machine broken. We tried to have those fixed with no succès and zero apologies. Buffet really minimal and if you miss it you have to wait for the next service. Room service is with charge. Extremely noisy room with two communicating room. Will literally ear the conversation in the other room.

My room had no balcony as shown in all the pictures of the king room, my bathroom shower had no hot water and tub took over an hour to drain after each shower. The whole bathroom was run down and crusty looking, could barely see in the mirror as it was scratched or broken. Wifi is very limited in public areas but none in your room. The beach had about 10 loungers for the whole building so a struggle to get seating near the pool or the beach..

We had a 1-bedroom w/ kitchenette-living room. The 2 rooms are very spacious. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are very hard. The 2 couches can be used as beds, but are very uncomfortable as either. The 2 showers are large, but the water temp. cannot be regulated, It goes from hot to cold, cold to hot. There is NO WIFI in the rooms. Wifi is only available in the lobby and by the pool! The pool is large, and the grounds are lovely. They have activities throughout the day. They play (repetitive) music all day, for about 11 hours. Most of the time it’s very loud and we just wanted it to stop. Their nightly entertainment, by the pool, doesn’t start until 9:30 pm, but fortunately it ends about 10:15. This hotel is on the beach, but there aren’t any hotel chairs on the beach. The staff (restaurant, bar, maintenance, front desk, room) were great, very nice and helpful. The meals were okay with a variety of choices However, many of the same dishes were served every day. The positives did not offset the negatives, and we would not stay here again.

This could be an amazing resort with better front desk staff all of the other bar and restaurant staff are fabulous but the rooms need upgraded and they have a lot of issues with providing the wrong room to people who book and don’t get what they want. The front desk won’t help and are often rude when issues arise there could be improvement in providing better hospitality in this department

We only stayed at the Grand Pelicanos for one night. Also used the option to extend our stay at the resort till 3pm after checking out. The property is well maintained older resort and not too big. Service was excellent. We had an issue someone steeling our beach towels, but the staff resolved the problem quickly. The rooftop bar is a nice bonus, unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to enjoy it fully. The room was basic, but clean. We ate at the buffet and a wood fire oven pizza by the pool-all was good. We missed sitting on the beach, umbrellas and chairs are only available by the pool. It was decent value for the money.

Hotel is easy access to the beach and it’s a plus that you have access to the other two Pelican’s hotel near by. Of course, you have booked all inclusive; Food and Drinks.. Only issue we had, was the room card kept getting deactivated. We had to go 4 times to the front office to get that fixed. You must check the Skyline lounge to get the perfect view at night and have a couple drinks.. They should open earlier!

The room we were given was good on the inside but the view was no good.....had no balcony which I did not like also we were woken up early in the morning as we were just above the service entrance.We asked for a new room which we got the next day.. Also when it came to check out are flight was not till early evening and they would not let us keep our bands on....as we talked to other people the day before and they were aloud to keep theres on..So why let some and not others....it should not matter who you fly with or who you booked through..... I will say most of the staff were awsome....

Pablo in the buffet restaurant was personable, informative and attentive. He was a great server. The breakfast omelette chef was fantastic and a delight to see in the morning. She was super friendly and smiley. The women on the front desk were unwelcoming and unfriendly. They didn’t ask how our stay was or thank us for staying with the hotel upon check out. There was one late night gentleman on the front desk who was welcoming and pleasant. The room was relatively clean; however, the phone did not work and the bellman who identified it said it would be fixed and it never was. The connecting door to the next room was very thin and had a large gap under it. We could clearly hear the people in the next room. On March 1st, we had our privacy sign up; however, someone removed it and they knocked on the door to do inventory. We identified the broken phone, but he didn’t seem to care. We requested a new privacy sign which he provided; however, it was missing when we came back later the same day. Having worked in hotels for over 10 years, I understand the challenges of running a hotel. In general, the hotel was ok and we would stay there again.

Although we enjoyed our stay , we only found out at the end of our stay that we had access to the other Pelícanos resorts restaurants and amenities. Which would have given us more food and entertainment options throughout the week. I had requested a ground level room because my mother has mobility issues but because we had booked on Expedia they refused to respond to my request and upon arrival they had put us in a small room in the 2nd floor , far from the elevator. Astrid the Guest services manager, had other rooms to offer us but unfortunately they were all back facing with small decks . The rooms were not as pictured online and I learned later that the good rooms are only for timeshare owners. We found the food was quite bland and definitely catered to mainly locals with very few staff speaking fluent English. We don’t typically complain and enjoyed our week regardless but for the price of the all inclusive I didn’t believe that we received good value and often found the staff annoyed that we didn’t speak Spanish. The waiters actually tended to ignore us and the beach drink service was in my opinion terrible and at times rude. With over 25 year experience in hospitality and resort management, I will not be returning to the hotel due to the service of the restaurant and bar staff. The Lifeguard Johnathan as well as the server Lewis and the evening and daytime bellboys went above and beyond to make our stay great. Astrid at the Front desk was excellent as well.

This is a small resort that is partly timeshare owners. We found that the staff in the food & beverage areas were excellent. The disappointing part is that the staff at the front desk were close to being rude. The rooms are definitely dated with chips in the bathtub and mirror, however you don't spend much time in your room so we didn't think this was an issue. Though it's an all inclusive, the restaurant charges for food! The buffet is free though and though small, they do a good job of trying to mix it up. I would go back, but if you are looking for more food options or a larger place, this isn't for you.

Staff at the hotel were mostly nice and helpful. Front desk staff were rude and didnt care at. First hotel room had water pooring out of shower,toilet ran constantly unless you manually fixed it every time and air conditioning was so cold you froze and any adjustment did nothing, so they agreed to give us a different roomwhen shower ran out so bad it went into the hallway we told them and front desk said they will report it but did nothing. Entertainment is all in Spanish so you never know whats going on.front desk staff spoke to a family behind us in line in spanish pulling them ahead of us in line. The worst thing was is when they wanted 1000 pecos to keep our bracelets for 3 hours until we leave for our flight. At 11am they cut you loose or want more money in 20 yrs of traveling to Mexico no hotel has done this.Food is very good drinks terrible. Some staff are excellent and worth mentioning Omar, Angela, Maria and the omelet lady.

Overall, I had a good time here. It's an old resort, but for the price I paid, I thought it was worthwhile. Especially if you intend to be out and about for the majority of the time and only need a place to stay. However, the walls are so thin, you can hear everything! The staff is extremely friendly, and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I really liked the location because it was close to the airport and many meeting points for excursions, as well as El Malecon. Because the hotel is all inclusive, you can save money even if you only have a quick breakfast before heading out and have dinner or a late snack at night. I would definitely recommend this location if you want to stay in an all-inclusive resort without spending a lot of money!

Excellent resort. You will be happy you stayed here or you book early enough for a good price. The ocean is too strong for anyone but good swimmers to go in the water here though. Nobody really goes in for that reason so that's a big negative. The daily evening shows are excellent and memorable. The Aztec/Mayan show was the best. It was so good. Some easy things the hotel can do to make it a much better experience is better communication. For instance, the signage says there's all night snacks until 7am but it's actually only until 1am. It's fine if that's the case but update the signage. Also, improve the room service communication. The front desk did not seem to know how it actually worked regarding price, hours, or where to see the menu. Eventually found the link but the room service menu wasn't working. Just little things like that. Honestly, it's mostly the front desk communication that needed to be improved. Might have been only this one lady that didn't know anything and eventually she was on nights instead of days (maybe for that reason?) Overall, excellent resort for our price we booked it at, buffet was great, all the servers were amazing. Rooftop lounge was amazing. It was a very excellent experience. The ocean experience was a real negative but if you're a good swimmer or dont mind walking much further down the beach than it's fine. My wife and I had a wonderful time!!

This hotel is good value if you are looking for a quiet all-inclusive relaxing holiday. For me it wasn’t the right hotel because of its location away from the town but if you aren’t primarily bothered about that it’s a good cheap all-inclusive holiday destination. This is one of the older properties which I love. It is on the beach with the historical cooling shape that allows the ocean breezes to drift though. There is a the grass roofed beach cabana for that authentic beach escape. The location is close to the airport and activities so it saves on taxi fees, as well as having easy access to the bus system. The room was clean, bed comfortable with daily maid service. Loved the towels here- nice and big! All of the staff were very kind and helpful. There is daily entertainment and they even had a pizza place. I really enjoyed the tile and marble with glass showers which were quite roomy. Not your glitzy, Vegas style place, just a genuine Puerto Vallarta taste of its amazing people and adventures.

The staff was great and the food was very good, especially in the a la cart restaurant. The property is older and our room was outdated and in need of updating. The common areas were quite nice however there is a shortage of chairs and lounges in the pool and beach areas during busy times. The internet is only available in common areas and is very unreliable. The overall experience was good with the exception of the unreliable internet access. Located in an area that is walkable to many businesses and restaurants.

This was a smaller resort but we enjoyed it because we never waited in line for food and it was fresh and very good options. The beach area is beautiful and the main area/pool is clean. Authentic Mexican experience. Not super fancy but comfortable and enjoyable.

Elegí este hotel por las fotos sin embargo la habitación olía mucho a humedad, la señal de internet en éstas, no es buena ni para celular, imposible intentar conectar una laptop, solo dos enchufes trifásicos, tomé un plan all inclusive y no tenía minibar en la habitación entonces tenía que bajar a los bares si quería una cerveza o un cocktel o un snack, nunca encontré comida de mariscos en los buffets, en las cenas temáticas que había que reservar tardan mucho en servir y tomar la orden aunque el restaurant no esté lleno y sólo te limitan a tres tiempos, sólo un día de los que cené ahi, nos ofrecieron café; la comida en general si bien no es mala, la calidad no es tan buena y es muy repetitiva, a mi check out, el cual es a las 11 (muy temprano si vas de vacaciones), cuando en otros hoteles es a las 12 con una hora de tolerancia, solicité resguardo de la maleta y sólo me dieron la opción de hacerlo hasta las 14:00 horas; el único bar que esta abierto en la noche, no ponen música variada o de otros géneros, no a todos nos encanta la banda o los corridos, ni hay pantallas, si uno quiere ver algún deporte o escuchar otra música, hay que regresar a la habitación y hacer una espera en el lobby sin una pantalla es muy aburrido, por ello definitivamente espero no tener que regresar a este hotel ni lo recomiendo.

Overall Review - Great experience especially for cost but I’d say it’s more of a 3/3.5 star resort - Staff are wonderful - Always clean - Right on the beach - Quieter resort which is nice - Love that there’s a kids pool too - Shows are pretty good - just an older audience that’s why it doesn’t seem as ‘hype’ (Mexican traditional singing & dance, fire show (so cool!), karaoke, singers) - almost always food options (buffet, food truck, pizza, snack bar) - I feel like there could’ve been better signage on the menu at the snack bar - seemed to be some confusion - Towel service was great and easy - Drinks are good and the pool bar is fun too - very accessible to walk around town and c convenience store right down the street - Gym is decent , few machines , some benches you can’t adjust. They maintain the cardio machines well but the free weights/machines can use an upgrade - Hot tub closed - Only one ‘sit in’ restaurant - Only 2 menu themes (Mexican/Italian) - Buffet is good mostly average but still good - tended to be a lot of repetitive food Excursions: - we did the city tour - Overall, still a good experience, but some of the stops felt like they were just trying to get us to buy things - Tequila tasting was a highlight. Lo mejor de este hotel definitivamente es el personal, todos son super amables, en cualquier zona del hotel encuentras una buena cara. Lo peor es el internet en la habitación y en distintas zonas. El hotel en general bien, si volvería. La comida aunque no hay mucha variedad tiene muy buen sazón. Albercas y acceso a playa excelente. Bebidas 8de10. En la habitación las camas son demasiado duras, igual que las almohadas, encontramos una cucaracha la primera noche y el sensor de humo pitaba cada minuto desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos, fue muy latoso. Se tiene acceso a la alberca del hotel plaza pelícanos, pero eso no te lo dicen hasta que tú preguntas. Terrible señal de teléfono y de internet. Solo hay wifi en lobby. Señal de internet y de celular solo en las afueras del hotel. En los cuartos es malísima la señal.

Definitely dated. Buffet food more often than not cold. Burger and fries and pizza by the pool was the best food! Smaller resort which I really liked. Everything was close and convenient. Very nice, friendly “community” of timeshare/owners. Nicest people! More lounge chairs and umbrellas could/should be added. Best lounge chairs compared to other resorts. The things I did not like were not so bad that I wouldn’t return. I would recommend to friends but would warn about bring out dated and not the greatest buffet.

Front staff need better training and to be honest. One moment something is not available ,eg a room you booked, you ask another reception person and it is. I asked one day at the concerige desk for assistance to request room cleaning and he did, as their phones and in the rooms are always offline and then I ask the same desk person another day and they said they cant help. Typical mexico dishonesty

Sheets, blankets and towels were dirty. Room stank significantly of mold. Shower temp was all over from freezing cold to scorching hot and thermostat don't work. Restaurant staff were nice, front desk wasn't very helpful. They closed the pool down around 8pm every night even though the sign and front desk said it closed at 10. Food was just ok. Very small property. Felt unwelcome to most staff. Skybar was nice and staff were welcoming up there.
