What guests think

Reviews of Amazon Hotel consistently praise its central Syntagma-area location, friendly and helpful staff, and generous breakfast, alongside clean rooms that work well for short stays and sightseeing thanks to easy access to transit and major attractions.

Common tradeoffs are small rooms and tight showers, and some guests noted street or nighttime noise. There are occasional maintenance or design quirks such as variable hot water, drainage issues, limited storage, or a low step near the bathroom. Overall, expect a practical base for exploring Athens.

Upon arriving, my companion and I were looking forward to doing laundry as “laundry” was listed as an amenity of the hotel. However, when we asked, there was no place to do laundry in the building, instead, we were directed to a laundromat around the corner. Besides the lack of laundry and false advertising, it was a pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel. It wasn’t excellent but above good. It’s located very convenient to most places. A easy 10 acropolis and museum. 5 minutes to metro. So many restaurants you can’t count and very good, great selection. Hotels breakfast was very good. Staff was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. Will store luggage for later departure. The only thing that is missing, a bar / restaurant and the hot water at busy times was hot and cold.

This is a basic hotel but very clean. My room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The flooring is all tile which made it a little cold in October, although I’m sure it was cooling during the summer months. Would have been nice to have an area rug. Breakfast had a lot of options and the coffee was really good. Overall, I would stay here again.

Breakfast menu provided a wide variety of options, and the food was freshly made, and replenished appropriately. The room was large enough for our needs, and it was clean. We had a very quiet location in the hotel, so we were able to get some well needed rest after traveling to Athens. Staff was very helpful when we need assistance and the location is great as well. In the middle of the tourist area so easy to walk pretty much anywhere.

I would have given this hotel an excellent grade except for two things..... 1. There was nowhere , and I mean nowhere , to put our clothes. No closet and no drawers. Just a couple of hangers on a pipe. 2. In our room at least there was a very dangerous step between the bed area and the bathroom which was impossible to see at night as the floor was black tile. Both of us fell down it but escap ed with just a few bruises. Otherwise it's a great little hotel ideally placed near the center of Athens with ( nearly ) pedestrian only streets with restaurants and bars very close by. Friendly helpful staff , very clean and with an included great breakfast buffet.

Small boutique hotel in an excellent location, close to dining, shopping and sightseeing. Very clean and well kept, breakfast included which had a nice assortment of eggs, meats, breads, pastries. Room we booked was small and shower was tiny. Very loud noises on one night from recycling center which is close by, but did not hear it the second night of our stay. Staff was polite and professional.

We love Amazon Hotel and we stay there every time we are in Athens. The rooms are very quiet although the area around Syntagma is really busy and noisy. Breakfast is great and includes English, Continental and traditional Greek dishes like spanakopita. If you use bus X95 from the Airport, the bus terminal is right on Syntagma Square. Then, it is a two-minute walk to the hotel. Keep going on the same pavement and here is the hotel. Also, the Subway is very close and all the main archeological sites are at walking distance (Acropolis, Ancient Agora etc). We warmly recommend it. Last but not least : the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

It is in a very good area which is convenient for everything. The only reason it didn't get a 4 or a 5 is because: 1. The breakfast is very crowded and you have to wait for your turn to find a place 2. there has been maintenance which impacted the water coming in the showers to be brown. i was not offered an alternative option rather was told to just wait for the water to be clear by itself.
