Staff was kind, friendly even held umbrellas over us while unloading the cab/taxi. Restaurant hours 7 am to 11pm good food and great breakfast buffet with many choices. Very clean and quiet rooms. Highly recommend and want to try their other properties on the islands

Vi havde et rigtig fint ophold, men der stod i beskrivelsen at hotellet havde fitness, hvilket var en løgn. Så vi føler os faktisk snydt lidt, da det normalt er en del af vores ferie-rutine med noget træning, hvilket så ikke blev en mulighed i denne omgang.

People were kind, friendly and service was great. The hotel was just tired and older, gym was odd and in a smelly basement with visible rat traps. Walls paper thin, mosquitoes in room, no upgrade, wine was given which was nice.

When we arrived we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. The decor was unusual and unique - we loved it! There were 2 bathrooms and they had a full range of amenities. The service was friendly and efficient. The buffet we had for dinner was not great as it seemed to be more tourist fare than traditional Greek food and there wasn't much choice for the main course but the deserts were delicious. Breakfast was very good and there was a large variety to choose from. We would love to stay here again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was awesome, definitely the best we've ever seen that's actually included in the stay. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner at the hotel. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Highly recommend!

Clean, comfortable, great staff, walkable distance to Acropolis and market. Little noisy because rooms are not carpeted but laminated, so you can hear the guy upstairs. Staff were very friendly. We left early in the morning for airport (4 am) and they even prepared breakfast boxes for us. Overall great stay.

The staff were welcoming and left lots of treats for us in the hotel room. The breakfast buffet had much to offer, including plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered room service twice and the service was extremely efficient. Unfortunately one of the bed sheets had blood spots on it and when we went down to ask for a replacement, the staff member gave an incorrect item to replace it. We then had to go back down to ask for a correct sheet that fits the duvet, to replace the one that had blood spots on it. This happened on our first night which was disappointing. The room was very dusty with cobwebs and visible dust trails along the bed. One of the days that we visited turned out to be a Labour Day which we had no idea about, it would have been useful if the hotel staff could have informed us before we ventured out for the day and learnt about this much later (we were greeted by the receptionists on our way in/out every day). There were nearby bus services and metro station which we learnt about on our own - would have been helpful if the hotel could have left leaflets and travel guidance in the waiting area or inside our room. The cleaners were sometimes noisy during the early part of the day. All things considered we enjoyed our stay, the hotel was efficient but extra care could be taken to make sure the bed sheets are cleaned and areas dust free. Thank you for the additional items you kindly left for us, such as teas and milk sachets, and the friendly restaurant staff.

Great hotel and stay!! Only complaint was that you could not lower the temperature than 21 degrees on the thermostat (while it allowed you to lower it, it didn’t do anything to make it cooler). Called Reception & confirmed this was intentional

The room was nice, worth the €28 bump for the bigger room. The view was...well, a seemingly vacant run-down building next door. The service though...good Lord that made us feel like royalty! The front desk REALLY went out of their way for us, calling taxi's (really only need this for the trip to the airport because their flat fee is higher than if you just hail one driving past. Example: €13 to the restaurant flat fee, €6 back hailing ourselves), to maps of the city and points of interest, and if this is your first stay in Athens you HAVE to have a go on The Big Red Bus - hop on and off as you like for a flat fee per day/trip. Now lets talk about that breakfast...jeez. I've never had its equal. Everything I tried was literally THE BEST. They had a freakin' honey comb...an actual HONEY COMB...four star dining at its best...and it was complementary with the stay. Seriously, I've paid €50 each for very nice brunches that weren't nearly as vast, nor tasty, and they here too, have you feeling like kings and queens. One of my very best dining experiences ever...and it was included in the price. We had a 6AM flight back to the States, so needed a 3AM taxi...no problem. Their contracted €70 ride netted us a nice Mercedes and when we got downstairs...they had a box breakfast waiting for us!!! Truly a class above! Thank You Grecotel, THAT'S how it's done!!!

Overall it was great. One bed was a little hard and I could feel the springs. Other bed was wonderful. The staff were helpful with any request and service was beyond compare. The packed breakfast for early leavers was fantastic and so appreciated!

The hotel is nice and located in a central location. The amenities are fine and the hotel staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel rooms are "unique" to say the least. The drawings on the wall are creative but out there. The shower is not great with poor water pressure. There are also not many well situated electric outlets in the room. Lastly, our room was very close to the elevator and my brother who was in the room with the twin beds could hear every conversation happening outside and anytime anyone walked by. Definitely a solid three star hotel. The service (in particular the bell captain) could make it a low grade four star.

Great hotel, location is perfect for getting around the city. Staff are very nice. Bed comfortable. It was a shame our bath plug would not work, could have done with a nice bath at the end of a long day. Apart from that very good hotel.

I stayed here for 4 nights. Staff at the front desk is super nice. There is one lady, I do not remember her name, she goes above and beyond, also upgraded my room, was given a bottle of wine. I had to drop my bags very early because I wanted to go for a day trip, they were extremely helpful. Room was huge and serviced multiple times a day. Breakfast area and food was great with many choices, again very nice staff there. I cannot praise enough. Location is very convenient to everything. Safe area. Lobby is beautiful and well kept. I stayed here for 4 nights. Staff at the front desk is super nice. There is one lady, I do not remember her name, she goes above and beyond, also upgraded my room, was given a bottle of wine. I had to drop my bags very early because I wanted to go for a day trip, they were extremely helpful. Room was huge and serviced multiple times a day. Breakfast area and food was great with many choices, again very nice staff there. I cannot praise enough. Location is very convenient to everything. Safe area. Lobby is beautiful and well kept. Grecotel is an upscale Greek chain with very reasonable prices when compared to similar US hotels. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a balcony with lots of space and a beautiful view. Breakfast is included and a wide variety of choices are offered to meet everyone's taste. There is a full staff too help with you luggage, check you in, bring ice, and any other request you have. More important, the hotel is located across the street from a hop on/off bus stop which is the best way to see Athens. One block away is a major subway station which you can use to travel to and from the airport. There is even a small grocery store nearby to buy beverages and snacks.

Amazing staff, they were all great. Professional, helpful. The breakfast was the best, the staff so good as well. Food is fresh. We had dinner in the hotel as well and it was amazing. The room was very good, spacious, good beds. The only negative is the immediate area, around 2 blocks, in the evening. It's close to good areas, so take a taxi if you return to the hotel in the evening.

The hotel itself was nice, older, but the interior was clean and well appointed. The room was bigger than expected with a huge patio (a bonus space!) with a view over a public square and fountains. The surrounding area was not great as it is on a street about a block from main streets and my Greek friends warned us of walking around, especially going down the road behind the hotel. So for very good service, free breakfast (excellent options!), well maintained older hotel in the heart of Athens, it is a great option. But do not go on adventures after dark in the area

The room was nice, worth the €28 bump for the bigger room. The view was...well, a seemingly vacant run-down building next door. The service though...good Lord that made us feel like royalty! The front desk REALLY went out of their way for us, calling taxi's (really only need this for the trip to the airport because their flat fee is higher than if you just hail one driving past. Example: €13 to the restaurant flat fee, €6 back hailing ourselves), to maps of the city and points of interest, and if this is your first stay in Athens you HAVE to have a go on The Big Red Bus - hop on and off as you like for a flat fee per day/trip. Now lets talk about that breakfast...jeez. I've never had its equal. Everything I tried was literally THE BEST. They had a freakin' honey comb...an actual HONEY COMB...four star dining at its best...and it was complementary with the stay. Seriously, I've paid €50 each for very nice brunches that weren't nearly as vast, nor tasty, and they here too, have you feeling like kings and queens. One of my very best dining experiences ever...and it was included in the price. We had a 6AM flight back to the States, so needed a 3AM taxi...no problem. Their contracted €70 ride netted us a nice Mercedes and when we got downstairs...they had a box breakfast waiting for us!!! Truly a class above! Thank You Grecotel, THAT'S how it's done!!!

When we arrived we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. The decor was unusual and unique - we loved it! There were 2 bathrooms and they had a full range of amenities. The service was friendly and efficient. The buffet we had for dinner was not great as it seemed to be more tourist fare than traditional Greek food and there wasn't much choice for the main course but the deserts were delicious. Breakfast was very good and there was a large variety to choose from. We would love to stay here again.
