What guests think

Across many reviews of Best Western Plus Killeen - Fort Cavazos Hotel & Suites, travellers highlight spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a convenient, restaurant-filled location, as well as generally friendly staff who help make short stays straightforward.

However, breakfast feedback is mixed, with frequent reports of limited options, items running out, or equipment out of order. Facility and maintenance issues come up, including closed or dirty pools, elevator and gym problems, weak shower pressure, and occasional AC or TV faults. Cleanliness and noise can be inconsistent, with some rooms spotless while others had odors, mold, stained linens, or pests, and a few note thin walls. Expect a convenient stay with good space and service but variable upkeep.

One working elevator was quite inconvenient , high daily rate for a dog under 10 lbs . We had to walk down stairs which were unsafe and under construction to take the dog outside. They did however have a container and bags to dispose of pet waste.

I had intended to stay at this hotel over Fourth of July because I was visiting a military friend and we booked it with the knowledge there was a pool we would be able to use. Unfortunately their pool was out of service which we discovered at the time of check in and the staff refused to refund any portion of our stay. We moved to another hotel. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Our room was pretty gross for the price we paid. It was like they slapped new sheets on and left the old bedding on. No vacuuming, no wiping surfaces, crap smeared on the walls of the bathroom (not even exaggerating). Didn't smell or look clean when we walked in the room. We asked if it was possible to move to another room but they just gave us new bedding. The room "looked" nice online but in person it was pretty decieving. Whoever they pay to clean their hotel is not even doing the bare minimum.

Had to call the hotel to get someone to come out to help me at the front desk so i could check in. The air conditioning system in room #301 was leaking water all over carpet. We told the front desk and they moved our room to #303, the breakfast was good. Bed was comfy. We needed bedding for pull out couch and more towels they only provided 2 towels

When I checked in on 10-19-24 around 9 p.m. the man at the front desk did not even say hello. He did say, "Name?". I said my name and he then said there is no reservation under that name. So, I spelled it. Then he said, okay I see it. No soft skills exhibited on arrival. No welcome in, no hello. I like the wood look on the floors in the rooms. However, upstairs guests were very loud stomping around past midnight, so not such a great rest. Not soundproof by any means. I did ask for the top floor, quietest area and I was given the 2nd floor, so I didn't get a good night's rest. Breakfast - They had a yogurt station, but no fresh fruit except whole green apples. Fresh berries would have been a nice addition to something healthy on the menu.

The checkin reception guy was rude and acted like we were putting him out by asking if there was a room available. At first he said there wasn’t one but I knew there was because I had checked Expedia first. He said- oh, we like to keep a spare room in case of emergencies. Then he made me book it on Expedia instead of with him. But- the hotel has very nice rooms and is new so we overlooked this turd.

On day one of four I was ready to give this hotel fove stars but things happened i did not like. The guy working the front desk seemed more annoyed because I interrupted his phone time when I was asking about the smell of cigarette smoke in my room and complaining about not having my room clean, trash taken, or clean towels after two nights going into a third. I spoke with two of the house keeping employees, requesting our room get aervice but neigher understood English. We tried a translator app and i wrote down my room number and it was understood that it would get cleaned but it was not. For the last few days the hallway had the oder of Marijuana. Saturday they had a lot of banging going from people workinh somethiing no one told us about nor visible signs informing guest of renovations. Very early Sunday morning near the entrance people were talking very loud for about a couple of hours. The hotel commom areas were clean and our room on day was very clean. I would love to tip the person who prepared breakfast July 3 through the 7th to leave jer a tip. The food was good and the eating area was very clean.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Its is located near lots of restaurants and places to shop Plus it's easy on and off the highway. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The shower is dated. The runner for the sliding door was not pleasant to see, what looked like rust or maybe dirt, with mold in the corners of the shower. A pubic hair was on the frame of the shower and another inside the shower. So, I wasn't sure if the rest of the room was clean or camouflaged with the dark carpet and furniture. Also, options for breakfast were limited. The pancake and another machine were broken. There was an empty container on the counter that had labels for muffins, bagels and something else, I don't remember. Another guest was vocal with the same complaint to whom I think was the manager, who commented apologetically that the supplies truck had not arrived. We did, however, enjoy the coffee machine.
