Incredibly dirty and run down. Found nail clippings in the room, food on the floor from the last occupants. It was not dusted. The bathroom had a strong odor to it and the shower curtain smelled musty and moldy. The bed was okay and the only clean part of the room. The pool was incredibly cold which made it hard to swim with our toddler. They also had carpet in the pool area which, because it had gotten wet, caused an unpleasant odor. Had we stayed more than one night, we would have checked out early.

Upon entering room 154, it was obvious that the queen bed by the window had a mattress which was so bowed in - in the middle of the mattress - that there was no way 2 people could sleep on that mattress without both people falling to the middle of the bed. On taking a shower, the tub filled with water. Something was obviously clogging the drain and we didn’t want to stick our hand in the drain to unclog it. The screen on the window in the room was on the ground outside the window. There was mold on the ceiling of the tub/shower. Every piece of furniture in the room was mismatched, scarred and scratched. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were stained and coming apart. The fan sounded like a jet engine. The bathroom mirror had lost all the mirroring around the edges of the mirror.

The beds are hard and sag in the middle. Black Mold in the bathroom corners. The mini fridge was so dirty i just couldn't bring myself to use it. The alarm clock next to the bed was broken. The floor was dirty in the room. I even found an entrance key from the past people on the floor in plain sight. They really need to remodel for god sake.

Hotel was outdated, room we stayed in was poorly cleaned, the ac was an old unit from 1970 trying to figure out how to work it we just opened the window, you had to use your access card just to get to the second floor rooms from the lobby, the room was dirty, mini fridge and microwave stacked on a table and the table was bowing down from the weight. The location is amazing and they have a very nice pool area! Unfortunately the room was very small, outdated, slight must odor, and noted mold in the bathroom ceiling corners and down wall. I typically don’t leave bad reviews but I paid $184 for one night and expected a better room.

Went for a girls weekend to visit Bentlyville in Duluth. Everything was great. Comfy room and beds with a view of the water. Duluth is right across the bridge, only a 10-15 minute drive. The few minute extra drive is well worth it to save $$$ on the room in comparison to a similar room in Duluth. Their bar also has reasonable prices.

Room was very quiet and bed was comfortable. Air conditioner was noisy which is common for the type of air conditioner. Some of the furnishings were in rough shape. Water pressure in the shower was very good but the faucet control seemed to need work. Pool area was fine however the lights were exceptionally bright. Some of the jets in the hot tub did not work. There was a water dispenser in the exercise room but no water jug. There were no tissues in the tissue dispenser in the bathroom. We arrived in the dark and didn’t see any lit signage for the property. There were a couple of holes in the bathroom wall above the sink. I’m not sure what might have been missing there.

Our room had a nice view of Lake Superior, and looked out right at the local airport, but that’s about all This property is just “getting by” on (what seems to be) previous ‘reputation,’ and location – it’s now run-down and dirty: there appeared to be mold in the bathroom; the heater/air conditioning unit has controls that the labels have completely worn off. The room seemed big enough, but the lights were very dated. We didn’t try the pool.

Nice room and staff. The carpet needs cleaning or replaced. The water in the sink would not get hot and the showers faucets hot/cold was backward. We requested a main floor no stairs, we were given the second floor and almost to the end of the hall.

I've stayed here many times in the past. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. We sat in the restaurant for appx 15 minutes without anyone coming over, after being seated. There were no towels in the pool area and when we asked for some we never got them. The air-conditioning worked great and the room was clean. The hotel needs painting big time and needs a shuttle to bring you to Duluth. We never heard thank you for staying or anything. It felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by staying there.

Got to my room and tried watching tv. It wouldn’t turn on so I Asked the cleaning people for help. They called maintenance and they never showed up. I tried calling the front desk after 90 minutes and no one answered. They switched my king room for 2 queens. Bathtub was not clean. Was told I would get a 50% discount but would have to contact hotels.com and they would contact the hotel for the discount. Still waiting to hear.

The location of the in is nice. It has a walking path near it. With the price of the hotel, breakfast should not cost between 12-18$, so we just found somewhere else to eat. Staff was not very inviting. There is a dire need for upgrades. Outlets are hard to get to, the bathroom hard mildew on the grout especially where the wall and tub meet. There were no tissues and only 1/3 a roll of to with no more in the room. Fridge wouldn’t cool unless you propped the freezer open. There was debris on the carpet. TV had a dark spot. Chipped/old furniture. Slow drain. The door frames were rusted and dented. We had a view of the water but the windows were filthy.

This Hotel is relaxing and quiet and close to Duluth so you can enjoy all the Duluth activities at a nice reasonable price. The restaurant had excellent service, good selection of good tasting food at very reasonable prices. It had inside and patio dining. This was my second time staying here and I will be back again.
