This hotel was a complete gem! We had never been to San Jose before and Santana Row is lively and full of great restaurants and shops. We were in town for a concert. The hotel is right in the middle of all the activity and you feel like you are in a European village. Great service, beautiful rooftop bar and lovely comfortable rooms.

Great hotel. Very nice room and everyone was extremely friendly. However we did have a few issues: 1) the valet took our luggage when we arrived but it took 45 minutes and a call to the front desk to get it delivered 2) then every time we needed the car we used the text link they provided to request it and I got a confirmation, but even with 20 mins in advance, it was never there for us. I even called the front desk once to ensure the valet would have the car requested but still we had to ask when we got out front. So lots of waiting for the car. 3) we had extended our stay by one day under a separate reservation. I emailed the hotel to make sure they combined it so we didn’t have any issues. They replied they would take care of it. But of course, they didn’t and we were locked out of our room one day and it took quite a while for them to get it corrected before we could get back in our room. Of course we were running late for dinner reservations at the time. Other than that the hotel and staff were great. But they do have some issues to work out.

The staff were great! Very friendly and helpful, provided information to the best of their knowledge and tried their best to make our stay comfortable and easy. We dined at Oveja Negra as well, unfortunately we were sat at a dirty table, although there were other options available too. As a restaurant manager myself, I was a little bummed by it but luckily the service was good. Valet staff and bouncers were great too, very friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Upon arrival, valet wasn’t the best. They didn’t communicate effectively. I had to ask how I’d retrieve my car and get my own luggage. When I got to the front desk, service was decent. The front desk wasn’t unfriendly but not friendly either. I didn’t get a full view overview of the property so a lot I found out from other guests. Lastly, my room was not very clean. It was stuffy and dusty. The vents were filled with dust too. I love Santana row and this hotel is very convenient for walking around and across the street to the mall. If not for the proximity to Santana row, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel itself is lovely. It is in a very walkable area of Santa Clara. Four things that can be Improved upon. 1) ensure all rooms are in working order. The coffee pot was broken in that. It spilled water all over the counter and floor, but did not make coffee. The shower was a little backed up, which meant you were standing in a puddle of water while showering. The bathtub stopper was broken. If you wanted to take a bath, you could not. 2) Train the front desk personnel a bit more. The front desk didn’t have a lot of answers. They were nice, not extremely helpful. 3) Coordinate front desk and valet. We called the front desk to have our car brought up as is the protocol when checking out. We waited about five minutes and were approached by a valet person. He asked what kind of car we had. When we told him what kind of car we had, he said it would be about five minutes or so since we had just put in our request. We told him we called and put in our request at least 15 minutes prior. He showed us his handheld device that said we had just put our request in. Obviously, he was wrong and he was nice about it, but, this snaffu made us late, picking up our daughter. 4) Offer customers something to make up for the imperfections of their (our) stay. Anything small; a $50 credit, a room upgrade for “next time.” Anything. Something would be nice to make them (us) feel like coming back.

We got a free upgrade and enjoyed a spacious king room with balcony overlooking a bit of the courtyard in this very busy and sometimes loud area. It was a Saturday night and everything got quiet by 11:30 p.m. The room was very beautiful and well designed. The beds were extremely comfortable. Valet parking at $55 - with in and out service - was the way to go in this cramped action-packed area. It's a fun, dynamic, and luxurious destination.

The location is great. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. The staff is incredibly friendly. But the rooms are very outdated for the price they charge. The A/C alone should not be as loud as it was. The caulking in the bathroom is chipped/missing. The actual shower and sink looked and felt outdated. We paid for a late check out (3pm). That morning they had a fire alarm test and we were up and unable to sleep at 9am. We check out by 11am (regular check out time) and don’t get reimbursed for the late check out fees. TL;DR Underwhelmed. Great location but overpriced.

My stay here was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful and well decorated. The rooftop bar has a great view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a room with an attached balcony and was a beautiful view of the street. The location is great. Plenty of shopping and restaurants around. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

Great hotel - amazing room and common areas, very friendly staff and perfect location. However they still have a lot of irritating snags to work out in their processes as I encountered many issues during my stay. The valet service was never ready with our car despite requesting 20 mins early. It took 45 mins and a call to the front desk to get our bags delivered to our room. They screwed up our reservation which led to us being locked out of our room for awhile one day. Otherwise a great hotel but they can’t seem to get things right, even when you confirm the details.

The location and reputation of the hotel had me so excited to stay. Every person we encountered was very nice. Unfortunately, the service was not great. We called down for water and extra pillows on night one. We were told we would have to pay for waters if they brought them up but we could come to the front desk and get them free. We never got the pillows. We stayed for 3 nights. I could go on but it I will just say it doesn’t get better. The outstanding Valets were responsive, cheerful and incredibly helpful.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. On par with the quality I expected. I was greeted immediately upon pulling up to the valet. Someone helped me with my luggage and the bell staff made sure it got to my room after I was checked in. Staff was so polite and helpful. I was given water and a property orientation. I was just passing through visiting friends and wanted a more lux experience so I booked a room here. I had a great stay overall. It was a weekday in August so it was kinda dead. I was the only one at the pool for a few hours. They don’t have actual pool service for food but you can order room service from a phone by the pool and they will deliver to the pool, but be very clear where you are because they delivered mine to my room and I waited over an hour before I realized it wasn’t coming. Because it was in my room. Also they had a “water emergency” and advised the water would be shut off at 9 am. I had planned to hang out at this pricey hotel until checkout but had to scrap that plan. Instead of just offering compensation I had to ask for it - they just comped my valet. I didn’t complain that I wanted money off the room. Mostly because my name is Karen. 😝 Also, this location is great, cute shopping and eating nearby and the mysterious Winchester House is walkable.

Hotel Valencia was excellent! The beautiful courtyard area for breakfast felt like we were in Europe. The upstairs bar had an excellent after dinner club like vibe. The shopping and restaurant selections were amazing too. We had a balcony overlooking the area with Palm trees and mountains in the distance. Would highly recommend.

Comfy bed, nice outdoor pool area and jacuzzi. Got downstairs for breakfast at 11:08 am and they woukd not serve me any breakfast since it stopped at 11 . Not even a muffin . Lunch menu available was not something I could eat first thing of the day .
