Nothing horribly wrong with the hotel. Just a different experience from a higher priced location. The rooms were clean and had what we needed. The breakfast isn't what we call breakfast. It offered few options with suggestions to "spark your imagination" to give you some ideas to do with what they had to offer. The pool area was small but clean. Good experience for what we paid to see New York at Christmas time.

The only down fall about this place is no microwave in the room or coffee pot it’s all in the lobby so we would have to go there for the microwave other then the room was very clean the beds were good. The showered also was clean. Would stay there again

Property a bit dated but staff was attentive and friendly. Needs a inhouse shop instead of vendong machine. Gym was satisfactory but the pool was out of operation during my stay. A big disappointment.

The property was very clean and comfortable. The only issues I had was 1- no microwave in the room and 2- the pool was closed. If it wasn't for those 2 things, I would have given the property all excellent.

The service was excellent from the check in to the housekeeping.Room was comfortable and clean. The indoor pool was a plus.variety of restaurants to order food. Nice environment and great service.

Enjoyed my stay at Spark. The room was clean and spacious! Also location was great.. breakfast too!! Staff were friendly..Coffee/tea available all day! And lobby area had drinks and food available for purchase as well as a microwave. Will stay here again, thanks!

I like that the rooms are clean. The elevators are messy. What I don’t like is that you do get clean towels everyday, garbage is not picked up, rooms are only clean every other day. No staff at the front desk when I was checking in, no staff at night if you need something. I needed hot water and had to wait for my cup to be filled verses filling the carafe. Not a great experience so far

Specifically booked this hotel for the pool and when I arrived there was a sign at the entrance stating it was closed for maintenance. There was trash blowing around the parking lot when I pulled in and it was still there when I checked out the next day. When I made it to my room there was a layer of dust on the tv stand, desk, and the air-conditioning unit, and the counter in the bathroom. There was human hair inside the sheets of the one bed as well as several noticable stains on the comforter. The room felt grimey in general and I was thankful I keep lysol wipes in my car. The only staff member I encountered was the woman at check in/out and she was very attentive, polite, and friendly. The property gets 1 star; she gets 5.

The hotel is in an ideal location for anyone flying into Newark airport. We flew in from the west coast for a surprise party. We have family spread throughout East/Central New Jersey. We stayed at this facility before under a different ownership & found nearly everything improved under Hilton’s ownership. The room was spotless. Linens clean & the beds have a great sealed cover to prevent bedbugs. The breakfast was meh, but there’s a Duncan & McDonalds very close by, as well as plenty other options. Every single member of the staff were helpful & courteous. The one glaring exception was the horribly dirty & stained hallway carpets. It seemed like the carpet directly in front of the elevator was a mess on each floor. I mentioned it in a reply to an automated text message on my second day, but nothing was ever done about it during our 5 night stay. Other than that, 5 stars.

This hotel is decent. Not as nice as I expected for the price. And the bathroom in our room did not have a fan or any ventilation which seems like a small thing, but it’s quite an inconvenience. The bathroom gets weirdly hot and stuffy. The breakfast is good though and the coffee is great 👌👌

The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from Rahway station, there you'll find nail salons, pizza place, sandwich shop, etc. The hotel itself offer free breakfast. And coffee, tea and decaf coffee all day long! In the room you have all the amenities like blowdryer, iron and ironing board, tv, airconditioning, etc. i really enjoyed the bath! At home I only have a shower so this is always a plus. The wifi in the room when travelling is huge help! Bed was comfortable! I was travelling solo and I felt safe staying here.

The staff was great, the hotel itself was more like a motel I could hear everything and anything in my room all down the hallway. The room itself echoed and made me self cough that ppl in the hallway and other rooms could hear what I was doing. There was no ice bucket or coffe machines the tv was not a smart tv so I had to watch whatever was on. I only booked here because it was a Hilton and thought they upheld a certain standard. I was very very underwhelmed and this place should be much cheaper than it is. I also hope that the people down the hall at 6 am woke their friend Jerome up.

The room was very spacious with a beautiful view of the river. However the room had a smell of old smoke. The checkout staff was very polite and kind. The check in representative seem eager to get to back offfice or something. I was unable to ask him any questions because he left so fast.

the night staff when i arrived on on 8/9/24 was very rude not answering the questions we were asking and looked upset and seemed he did not want to be there. when we asked the lady who was working with him about the pool hours she looked upset that we asked and said well its closed now, not even giving us the pool hours. morning staff was good.

We booked the hotel through Expedia but the front desk staff said that the Expedia had nothing to do with them. We showed the paid receipt, but an employee said that we can only stay with the children if we pay the room again. We called the Expedia support service and they solved our problem in five minutes. After that, the receptionist yelled at us that we complained to Expedia. He said we were causing problems for him.

My card was charged additional fee on 7/4. Yogi, the front desk person whom answered the call assured me that it wasn't any charges that he could see. I reached out to expedia to figure things out. I felt like it was fraud i ended up canceling my card and still awaiting feedback. Expedia called front desk and advised them it was indeed from hotel. So i now i have to wait until a manager is available to assist.

Checked in late at night and Tv wasn't working after we had unpacked everything. Had to move that night and front desk was very rude like they were giving us an extra room for the night while we left most of our things to move in the morning. No effort was made to compensate us for our troubles. Breakfast isn't really breakfast. Just plain bagels, cereal and unpeeled hard boiled eggs that we couldn't get the shells off. we had our 10 year old grandson with us and booked with the idea we would have breakfast for him before leaving for the day. There also was a sofa bed and no sheets or blanket for him. I messaged Hilton and they never responded

The hotel is beautiful and clean. It’s a bit tricky getting to it from route 1 if you are not familiar with the area and driving at night. The turn off is a sharp right, just before the traffic light. The staff here are friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious and the bedding extremely comfortable. The hotel offers a continental breakfast. My only regret was the room was cold and the portable fan they provided was not sufficient to keep the room warm. Otherwise it was a good place to stay.

It was a great place to stay. But the only negative point was the breakfast. We were disappointed by the breakfast choices. They only had 3 types of bagels(everything, cinnamon raisin and plain), muffins and just orange juice and yogurt. We were disappointed that they did not have neither cereal nor waffles or any kind of bread. We happened to stay in almost 8 other hotles on this trip and this was the only place that had this little breakfast choices.

The room was clean and had plenty of towels and the manager was very polite. But..the breakfast was pretty bad - was not ready by 6am - more like 6:45am - and of the 6 toasters, I only found one that was working and everyone had to wait. All in all, a nice hotel though.
