What guests think

Reviews of Spark by Hilton El Paso University describe very comfortable beds and a convenient location near restaurants and I-10, but also note an ongoing remodel with various maintenance issues that affect rooms, elevators, and the indoor pool temperature.

Cleanliness feedback is mixed, ranging from very clean rooms to reports of stained linens, lingering smells, and floors or surfaces not properly cleaned. Service is often friendly, yet guests mention slow or inconsistent check-in, unavailable managers, and reservation or room-change hassles. Breakfast is basic with limited variety, and some items were not replenished or coffee unavailable as promised. Expect a practical stay where experiences can vary by room and timing.

Got the the hotel at 11:30. Told it was just remodel. It was definitely once an old hotel that had been painted over. Shower was nice with body gland shampoo. Bar soap and lotion at the sink outside the shower toilet room. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Wall Lamps on sides of bed didn’t work and the glass shower door was too small for the shower so water was on the bathroom floor when done. Otherwise the towels were clean and soft. Overall positives: towels, bedding and bed were 5 of 5. New carpet and blackout window coverings clean. Rough Paint job on door frames and doors. Breakfast was carbs overall. Some bananas and apples. Yogurt. Otherwise, carbs galore. Would stay again for the price and pets being welcome for a small fee.

Staff members was very friendly and helpful. But this place should not be open! Under construction. Room was dirty, carpet was not clean, exposed wire , shower not working properly, shower fixtures broken, no hot water. My family and I did not feel comfortable nor safe in this place. We checked out and booked into another hotel.

We took our grandkids to go swimming to have a great time in the pool was freezing cold and we did not feel very comfortable at all The maximum rate this hotel should be charging is $65 a night and with taxes and everything we paid a good $100 not worth it please do research before going to the motels.

Was switched between 4 different room due to issues. First room ac made a loud noise, tv didn't work and phone didn't work. 2nd room the window frame was completely destroyed and wouldn't close. Glass was held in place by masking tape not to mention being on the 2nd floor. 3rd room had a parking lot light pointed directly in the room window. 4th room had no hot water. Smells like something is burning in the elevator. Building does not seem up to code or ready to be open. Manager stated they have been open one month. WILL NEVER RETURN! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR BEING A HILTON HOTEL! BEWARE!!!

Booked king bed on highest floor. Elevator got jammed going to 2nd and 3rd floor. Me and 2 other guests were stuck about one minute until we forced door open. The front door of my room was open when I walked up to it. Eerie feeling. Door would not shut at all. Plus room reeked of cigarette smoke. Front desk changed my room, moved me to the first floor with 2 queen beds. Walls are thin. You can hear people above walking and across the hall. Dogs barking in rooms. Hotel is near restaurants and freeway I10. Front desk was friendly. Not the best hotel but ok for one night if you avoid the elevator and double check your room door closes.

The property was under remodelation, we arrived late night and there was no body at the reception. The lady came after 20 minutes even when we tried to call the phone contact the first phone number was incorrect. Isn't the lady fault, the hotel had the receptionist attending 2 buildings at that time. I would like to be aware that the hotel there was under renew. The lock of our room didn't work so we only used the little chain to secure the door.

The staff was unable to give me my Hilton points because they needed a manager to do it and the manager wasn’t around. They said they would do it after I left and it still has not been applied. The floor itself was damp near the air conditioner and there were 2 nails coming through the floor. My wife hurt her foot on it and I complained but nothing was done. Just given apologies. No one should stay here.
