What guests think

At Hotel Chihuahua San Francisco, travelers consistently praise its central, walkable location near the cathedral, while feedback on service, rooms, and dining is more mixed, with positives frequently tempered by recurring issues guests flag for attention.

Many find staff friendly and helpful, but front-desk service can be slow, reservations or room types aren’t always honored, and child-pricing policies have caused confusion. Rooms are often spacious and comfortable, yet guests report noisy or ineffective A/C, intermittent hot water, dim rooms or poor views, and street or event noise. Cleanliness is commonly good, though there are occasional misses, worn towels, odors, or pests; breakfast and restaurant experiences range from tasty and varied to repetitive or disorganized. Best as a convenient downtown base if you’re comfortable with some inconsistencies.

Facilities

Parking across the street is convenient but limited, the gym feels outdated or undermaintained, and elevators or key-card access occasionally fail. Common areas can be hot, room service ends early, and access involves stairs with few ramps.
