Comfort Inn White River Junction

We’ve been traveling across North America for 3 months, staying in different hotels every night..and not only was this the most expensive place we’ve encountered, but also the least bang for your buck. Last week we stayed at Cabana Bay resort in universal studios Orlando for less money. Nothing about our stay was necessarily “bad”…but it was definitely run down. The lobby was a mess, the fitness center was disastrous..used towels all over the floors and machines, all of the weights were missing, the pool was closed..the bathroom doors were falling apart, the elevator buttons didn’t work, etc. etc. I’m not writing this to complain, I’m just giving an honest review. Anywhere else in the country I wouldn’t pay more than $70 for this hotel. The fact that we paid almost 4x that is absurd.

Very pet friendly. Always stayed here when visiting my daughter at Dartmouth.

Helpful, lovely staff at front desk and making breakfast. Good breakfast. The gym is an ancient, broken treadmill and rusty universal machine. TV broken too. Room could have used a more earnest scrub between occupants (I'll skip the details). Very convenient to I-91. Wouldn't want to spend more than a night here.

I got a notice after I booked that they no longer have a pool. They might want to update this in their profile.

Pros: I liked the ease of access from highway. Dogs stay for free. Check in process was easy. Cons: Pool closed indefinitely. Parking lot dimly lit at night. Hotel is older with older furniture. Stains on furniture. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned after last guest. Used bar of soap still in shower. Lots of hair in tub. Urine on area behind toilet seat. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Upon arrival we were greeted by an unhappy Front Desk Clerk, check in was quick and we were off to our room, the folder that held the key cards said breath easy were a smoke free hotel, just forgot to inform the last chaon smoker who occupied our room. The toilet was not secured to the floor, the bathroom was tiny and the sink looked like it had seen better days. The AC was off when we walked into the room, we turned it on and it never got cold enough to enjoy being in the room and every time the compressor kicked in the building shook and it squealed like a group of crickets lived inside it. We went back downstairs to take a look at the pool that was advertised on the website but the door was locked at 4pm, we inquired to our friendly front desk clerk as to why the door was locked and she informed us that it been closed since Covid....5 years and its still listed on the website as being one of the amenities of the hotel.....will not stay again

Great hotel with even better price. Interior was nice and room was even better. Nice soft bed and pillow. Nice size room with office table. Small gym but better than nothing. Had one elliptical and one universal weight set that had one side out of service. Very close to several cities.

Rooms were filthy! Went as a group. They had to move us a number of times because the air conditioners were not working. Booked here for use of pool but that was not working. Rooms were filthy. Avoid this place!!

Our stay was okay but the cleanliness of the property was not great. In our room was an empty pill bottle and fork under the sink, a cough drop by the bedside, and a can of iced tea behind the desk. There was also an off putting smell in the hallway thought out the stay. They also appeared to be undergoing some renovations because the pool was closed and while walking my dog I noticed it was full of mattresses. The area was alright, just needs some work on upkeep and cleaning.

Absolutely no Wi-Fi. When raising this to the front desk they took NO!! responsibility and blamed the IT company that provides the WI-FI access and told us to call them and give them hell. It was ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!

It was terrible smell ,bed sheets and towels dirty and the mos horrible bedbugs never stay there again ….

The hotel is in need of renovations. Carpets are old and dirty. Rooms are dingy. You can hear people in the rooms around you as well as outside as there is little insulation.

Moldy shower, water damage, chipped furniture and poor cleanliness. Asked to switch rooms but the second option was just as bad. Do not recommend

The 1st room we were given was filthy..tub was full of hair..toilet was disgusting..room smelled moldy..second room we were given was cleaner but not by much..hotel needs lots of UPDATING..breakfast was lacking and just ok..would NEVER stay here again.

The pool was empty it looked like mold in the room. We were given keys to our first room and when went 4 stories up and walked in the room was striped and stuff was all over the floor so we went back down and given a different room on the bottom floor. It was not clean the fridge and microwave were disgusting the floor didn’t looked vacuumed and hair in the shower. I’ve stayed in so many hotels and this was the absolute most disgusting I honestly feel like it should be shut down and re done!

We checked in to the first room only to discover that the sheets had not been changed. There were food crumbs in both beds. We asked to change rooms. The second room had a sink that was clogged and urine on the toilet seat. The carpet had not been vacuumed. Very dirty!

I would never stay at another Comfort Inn as a result of this stay. The dust and dirt in the room were visible and inexcusable. There was mold on the ceiling of the shower, as well as green scum surrounding the drain of the tub, and the shower handle was rusted. How is this Comfort? It's shameful that the property is allowed to inflate their prices because of demand created by a graduation weekend and provide an unkept room. NEVER again! Bad look for the chain.

When i checked in here we’re pubic hairs and thick black hair— definitely not mine— in the shower, as well as spiders crawling in the shower. Please clean better between guests.

So impressed with the cleanliness and condition of the room. So spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot! What a great experience.

This hotel is generally located right near the highway and there’s plenty of other similarly priced lodging options of much better quality. The first room I was assigned was on the first floor, I opened the door and found a piece of wall molding on the floor. I tried to look past that, but then noticed the open window with broken/damaged screen. Suffice it to say, I didn’t feel safe and asked for another room. I was moved to a room on the 4th floor which was in better condition. The bathroom walls had peeling wall paper though, the carpet seemed run down, and there were noticeable hairs around the sink from someone shaving. The AC unit is in need of an upgrade and I suspect that the cleaning doesn’t use HEPA filtration. I bring up the HEPA filtration for those who are allergy sufferers because apparently they permit pets at this property - limit is 2 per room. Suffice it to say, I wouldn’t book this hotel again.

First, the good - it was a lovely quiet location, and the staff were great. The gentleman on the reception desk was very welcoming and pleasant, and the lady at breakfast was too. The room was pretty good, it was spacious and although dated, had everything we needed. Breakfast was ok. I saw a couple of guests with dogs whilst I was there and it's nice that it's dog friendly. Now, the bad. It was revoltingly dirty. I don't know who they have doing the cleaning, but they need to replace them! There was lots of hair on the bathroom floor, particularly between the bath and door (top tip for the cleaners: you have to actually move the door and vaccum behind it, not just stand in the doorway and vacuum there). And not hair from somebody's head either, it was gross. And next time I'm passing I'll pop in with a limescale remover spray as a gift, as clearly the cleaners have never heard of it - the taps and bath control were covered in limescale and a quick spray of that would have had them gleaming. Most reviews I read before booking said it was dirty, I'd hoped they have addressed this but obviously not. And although the surroundings are super quiet, it's not in the hotel as the walls are paper thin. We had a ground floor room next to an external door and all night we were woken by people going in and out of this door. We could also hear the baby crying in a room 3 doors down!

The room was okay for one night in a pinch. The room was clean but smelled stale. A couple minutes with the a/c blowing and the air quality was good. The bathroom was set up weird. The light switch was outside the door, as was the sink. The shower enclosure was dated and the paint was peeling around the edge in a few places. I suppose it was okay for the price. It just wasn't 100% PS. The breakfast was actually very good. Hot eggs and sausage along with the usual muffins etc.

Needs an update. Rooms felt very outdated. Bathroom was borderline too dark. Felt as if we went back 20 years or so. Staff super friendly however.

Lobby was clean and welcoming. Desk clerk was very friendly and gave great service. Room was clean, no bad smells, nice linens and towels. Great selection at breakfast including apples, bananas, pears and oranges! Breakfast staff person was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Our room had water stains and damage to the walls. The wall paper was peeling off due to the water damage. Our shampoo dispenser was empty and broken. There was an area of our carpeting that was wet. The staff was very friendly and nice. They were very accommodating.

Front desk staff are not welcoming. Rooms are just okay. Breakfast is adequate. Hallways smell funky.

Daytime front desk staff totally ignored us. Not looking up to even acknowledge us.

We decided to stay an extra night and the girl at the front desk was very helpful in getting us the best price and in enabling us to keep our rooms without changing. Good help is not always easy to find so I want to commend it!

I called front desk because the heat was on and it was burning up. Front desk clerk suggested turn off and open window in a very condensing tone. Both clerks were very short and dismissive; very rude.

Nothing unique, but very handy location. Gentleman who checked us in was excellent. Appears to be clean . Would stay again.

Everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel was good but needs a few upgrades. Just minor wear over the years. Yes, I would stay there again.

Clean and decent motel on the boarder of Vermont and NH. Hot shower and light breakfast. Perfect for my needs.

Comfortable and convenient

This hotel is ideally located, and run by super nice/friendly people. Was great, except that when you turn on the water in the sink, if someone is in the shower, the shower turns icy cold.

Overall, the property is good. The rooms are clean and the breakfast was perfect for on the go. My only issue was the bathroom was old. The drain backed up and on night the water was scorching hot; so hot that I could barely shower and could not change the setting.

The bed was comfortable. The room only had scalding hot water. Had to move to a new room where the water was just really hot. No cold at all. Breakfast was sad, so we declined. Even the coffee was made wrong. The apple juice was at least passable.

The breakfast was outstanding. First time I've ever used a waffle maker like that. And they tasted fantastic. The eggs and sausages were good too. To bad they didn't have any pepper.

Great place to stay. Breakfast was awesome, and I've never said that before about any hotel.

The hotel is not well taken care of, dirty and breakfast has very limited options for gluten free and eggs were frozen and microwaved.
