Delta Hotels by Marriott™ Virginia Beach Waterfront Suites

The property has been renovated but is showing wear and tear. It’s was very crowded on the weekend due to weddings and other events. There are significant waiting times for elevators regardless of the additional event crowds.

#1 complaint- I was disappointed to find that there was no handicapped access to the beach through the hotel. Especially in this day and age. I had great difficulty getting up and down the stairs. I witnessed several people who were unable to access the beach completely due to their conditions. That is unacceptable! We waited entirely too long for service at breakfast, about an hour, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Then we were given menus but not the choice of the breakfast buffet. I just happened to see it and inquired about it. My husband’s chicken and waffles was overcooked and dry. The food was not up to the prices paid. We wouldn’t dine at the restaurant again. We booked the room for six people, but there was no sheets or blanket included for the pull out couch. I was able to speak to a housekeeper who gave me sheets so that we could make it up ourselves. I’m glad that we had traveled with a blanket because we weren’t offered one of those. When I asked the check-in person, they couldn’t tell me how much my credit card would be charged for incidentals. I was told that it was either $150 or the price for the night of the room. Even though I booked my stay with one credit card, the card that I use for incidentals was charged for my room, which I did not want. I booked a room with an ocean view. I could see a slicer of the ocean from our balcony. The staff was not very friendly. None were mean or rude but they also were not very welcoming.

Great location and well staffed hotel. If I had complaints they would be that the concrete balcony had considerable deterioration and the additional parking fee, which I feel is excessive.

The parking garage is a total nightmare. The hotel lets the valet have all the normal parking spaces.The guests must manipulate huge posts and unusually small spaces! Seen 2 accidents during my 5 day stay.

The hotel was ok but the elevator waiting sometimes an hour almost was ridiculous. Only one elevator working with so many rooms was crazy. And the front desk could care less about even trying to assist!

The hotel itself was nice. It was clean and modern. However, there are many additional fees that were not communicated or advertised. Most hotels in that price range included other amenities such as parking (30 dollars per night wow), additional charges for seating at the beach and other beach equipment. No continental breakfast included. For this price range, I would not suggest this hotel nor would I stay there again.

We were so pleasantly surprised with this place. It’s out of the way of the typical VA beach downtown area, which we were very happy with. We normally stay within walking distance of the boardwalk but this changed my mind about that completely. The hotel was really nice and spacious and the on-site restaurant was great with excellent access to a quiet beach. The option to use the hotel sunshades and loungers was great as well. Pool was nice but crowded. Our room was great except for an issue with the bathroom door getting stuck.

Overall it was a very nice hotel. Starbucks on site plus the restaurant were great. It is not directly on the Virginia Beach so on the bay side which means calmer waters where we saw dolphins swimming. The pool was small but worked. The parking fee every night was a bit expensive in my opinion. It took hours to get our son's crib to the room but overall a good stay.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is much quieter on the beach here. More family friendly. My only issues were the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and they only had one elevator working. Waiting 30 mins for an elevator kind of sucks.

Love the beach access and heated outdoor pool! Wish there was not a parking fee.

Standard of this hotel is definitely not the same. Had to change room due to dirty sheets and surfaces. New room wasn't much better. Heard a pressure sound in bathroom all day and night thru the walls whether bathroom was in use or not. Table and nightstand were both visible dusty and dirty to the point we had to go and buy cleaner ourselves. Coffee maker was disgusting never cleaned. Got frustrated going to front desk so we just dealt with it and stayed in the room only if we had to. Coffee shop was out of many items on the day we actually decided to get something. Only enjoyable part was the Tides restaurant. The food was delicious both times we went.

Overall the hotel are okay but after we went to our room and first thing we checked the bed and we found blood stains on the sheets. We told them what we found and they are not shocked or apologized us they come and change the sheets. Other thing the restaurant doesn’t have kids foods and very expensive. Front desk reception name Jamie Cruze are very helpful. Keep up the good work Jamie!!!

My family of 4 stayed here for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised at the room and over all Cleanliness. Service and staff were very helpful and friendly.

It’s a shame this hotel was so unkempt because it’s a great location with a ton of amenities. Our shower curtain was full of mold. The vents in the bathroom were filthy. The carpet wasn’t very clean. The elevators weren’t very clean. The hotel has a lot of amenities: right on the beach, surf shop, Starbucks, and a restaurant. But I wouldn’t stay here again due to the subpar cleaning. I felt icky the entire stay. I couldn’t enjoy it.

Hotel was nice, and hospitality was great. However, the cleanliness of the room could have been better. The microwave area had crumbs on the shelf. There were food stains in the carpet in front of the microwave as well. The trash can had no bag in it when we came in. There was also trash already in the bottom of the can. The hostesses as well as the staff were very pleasant and polite. Pleasant environment with a great view.

We were there for a basketball tournament and stayed 4 nights. I'm glad we didn't go for the other cheaper options in the area: this was definitely on the higher end and the cleanliness was questionable. Blood stains on sheets, dust bunnies flying around in the room, dead cockroach in the hallway, water bottle filling station not functioning (combined from front desk denying us an additional complimentary water bottle), lights not working in bathroom, previous guests food leftovers hidden behind bedside table, ball of human hair on the bathroom floor were found upon our arrival...and were still present when we left (aside from food leftovers, I cleaned those myself afraid it would attract pest). While I'm sure it was way better than other hotels in the area, it definitely not match the price tag.

Our stay at the hotel was overall enjoyable. We loved the clean rooms, the delicious food, and the friendly staff. However, we did encounter an issue with our reservation. We had booked a room with a king-sized bed, a balcony, and an ocean view, but ended up with a room that had two small beds, no balcony, and no view at all. When we brought this up to the front desk, we were told to either accept the room or find alternative accommodations outside. Aside from this mix-up with the reservation, everything else was great.

I liked the hotel. There was not enough lighting in the bathroom and the living room. Outlet plugs were very good. Water in the shower was excellent

Nice place to stay while visiting family in Va Beach. My only complaint is that the room was very dark. Two dim bedside lights and a small desk light. Other than that it was fine. We were only there for 12 hours so did not use any dining options.

The room had a SPECTACULAR ocean view, it was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also spacious and clean, but it did lack some basic toiletries (no shower caps, no washcloths etc) The big negative was the elevators. They only had one working elevator and the wait times were awful.

It was a nice hotel but for the price it was underwhelming. The view of the beach we recieved (that we paid for) could only be seen from the very far left corner of our balcony. The balcony door was broken so it would not shut while we were outside and would not lock without pulling hard on the door while turning the lock. The bathroom door would not slide all the way closed because a screw had fallen out and the guide was hanging off. I found said screw on the floor, thankfully did not step on it. All of this on top of $30 a night to park in their lot (should be included in the pricy fees in my opinion). Overall was very underwhelmed.

Check-in was smooth and efficient. The hotel offers on-site parking for an additional $24 per night, which is deducted from your incidentals. On Saturday morning, we decided to try the breakfast buffet at the Tides restaurant inside the hotel. We made our plates and sat down, but when we asked a waitress for some hot tea, she informed us that the buffet was $22 per person—something we hadn't been told earlier. We appreciated her letting us know before we started eating, so we opted to try a local spot called Citrus instead, which was a great choice and well worth the price. After breakfast, we rented a beach Cabana for $84, but when we arrived, another family was already there. They politely moved, but it would be helpful if the hotel provided “Reserved” signs to avoid this issue. Later, a family member was coming to stay in our room for a night, so I called the front desk to ensure they would receive a room key, blankets, and a parking pass upon arrival. Although the staff member assured me these items would be ready, my family member wasn’t given anything, which was disappointing. Additionally, we experienced some technical issues—our room phone wasn’t working properly, so we had to rely on our cell phones to contact the front desk. Despite these minor issues, our stay was enjoyable. The room was spacious, the view was stunning, and the food and drinks at Tides were good. With a few improvements, this hotel could be even better. I would still recommend it.

We came down from New York for a world at the beach and this was an amazing place to stay! We got there way too early to check in, but the service was impeccable whole we waited for a room. The next day, we rented both a beach cabana and a pool side chaise, and both were well worth the rental. Pool side service barista Haley was beyond helpful, coming back around so often, our drinks and food never ran out. Everyone at the hotel was super helpful and always nice and smiling. Great place to stay!

The hotel was very nice. They seemed very understaffed but if that wasn’t an issue I would have gave it 4.5 stars overall. But the line to check in or to get any assistance even at 8:00 at night was ridiculous

It's a good location and the beach is great. The rooms are clean, though there was a strange smell upon initially walking into the room. The staff didn't seem well trained in hospitality or look for ways to do much more than the minimum. The phone line to reach the front desk was always busy so I had to call the main phone number to request things (like a later checkout). When I did reach someone, they used language like "fine, let me check" or "all I can do is 12pm" and the tone was bored, detached, and cold. It seems like a management issue because all the staff seemed to share a similar flat-line attitude. Reading a few books like "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara or "Excellence Wins" by Horst Schulze, would go miles to improving the guest experience. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay and we enjoyed our time but the customer service didn't standout beyond what you'd get at a Motel 6.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Delta Hotels by Marriott Virginia Beach on 05/23/25. Upon arrival, I was overlooked during check-in even though I had been waiting longer than the person who was assisted before me. The front desk staff did not provide the level of courtesy I expected. My room (407) was missing basic items like trash bags and toiletries, and the door only closed properly if the handle was held a certain way—making it feel unsafe. This stay fell far below the Marriott standard, and I would not recommend this property.

The best staff ever! The cleaning crew was always so attentive. The hotel staff and valet crew always kind and giving such a great service. Great facilities, ocean front a super plus, very nice restaurant. We loved that they’re pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog. Shout out to Christine P, the hotel director of sales who was always making sure we had the best vacation. We will definitely go back!

The place was excellent, our room, the bed, the service and restaurant. Checking in was fast and easy. The desk personnel were polite and professional. The place was clean and friendly.

BEAUTIFUL beach. Best beach spot in Virginia Beach. However, the quality of service in this hotel seriously declined. I’ve been coming here for years, and this year was significantly worse than ever before. The cleanliness in the rooms is substandard, the lines at the front desk are excessive. It took 2 to 3 hours to get bedding sent to the room each time I’ve requested (3 times over 2 trips this month). I visited twice this month because the beach is so beautiful, but I’m not sure I’ll be going back next year because the service quality has diminished so much. Time to look around.

I’m a Virginia Beach native who likes to vacation in his own city time to time. I’ve stayed at the Delta Hotels by Marriott a couple times now. The property itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, the amenities are brand new and modern, and its location is ideal (off the strip but still right on the beach). However, the customer service is lacking. I was working, and my pregnant fiancé had morning sickness the day of our checkout. She called me at around 8am that morning and let me know that she was suffering from nausea among other symptoms. This is typical for us, so like any other hotel we’ve had this issue in, I attempted to call the front desk to request late checkout, or if necessary, extend our stay. I couldn’t get a single person on the phone after multiple attempts and multiple 15-30 minute+ holds on the phone with people in another country. When I had to send a friend to the hotel to talk to the front desk, only then was my call returned. At this rate, I was swamped with work unable to do my job, my pregnant fiancé was stressed out about the room, and I had to inconvenience my friend to get a simple call back. When I did get a call back around 11am, the man informed me that the manager wasn’t even working that day until 3pm (unheard of and unacceptable around checkout time), and that the only rooms available were 399 for the night, which was double the listed price online. Lovely property, would be the best in VB if not for this customer service experience.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this hotel because it was so inexpensive compared to some of the others in the area. But I was very pleasantly surprised. It was beautiful, well maintained and clean. Check in was a breeze, the room was very nice and spacious, there was ample parking. We had a lovely water view from our room and a cute little balcony. There was a great restaurant right across the street and many others within walking distance. I loved it and would definitely stay there again!

It’s great . It’s not on the boardwalk , but we loved it because it was on the beach. Such a clean nice property. Staff was excellent - walking / bike trail across the street places to eat also - ask the staff for the best Mexican

Rooms are spacious and clean. Pool is warm and variety of seating options. Beach access is quick and easy. Great hotel for a beach weekend. About 15-minute drive to the Boardwalk.

Staff friendly, clean room, eat at TIDES Coastal Kitchen at Hotel and it was delicious. I love the fact there was a restaurant on premises, and place to get Starbucks. Very convenient you have the beach restaurants, a nice place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The property was well maintained and we ended up not leaving because the food was great also!

The arrival was poorly organized and no one offered to help. They charge $30 to self park but you have no idea until you check in. There is no lane to drop off people. My parents are handicapped and there was no where to let them out. The lack of complimentary breakfast was disappointing also. The location on the beach was very nice and the outside the restaurant seating was nice, although they were understaffed and ran out of several things. Slow service.
