The rooms smell like cigarette smoke, doors are broken or have holes in them, most room entry doors have huge gaps at the top or bottom, carpets look and smell terrible, bathroom vent did not work, towel was wet and dirty. The entire inside of the building gives off horror movie vibes.

The only nice things about our room were clean linens and a new lighted bathroom mirror. The black microwave door handle was repaired with white epoxy, an outlet plate was missing, the shower curtain was old, the bathroom doorknob was loose, the curtain had a big hole in it, the carpet had a big sticky spot. The hotel elevator was broken and the stairwells were greatly in need of vacuuming. The landscaping out front was full of cigarette butts. The front desk ladies were pleasant but not very available. We were glad to find a place to stay by Liberty University so we could see the footballl game, but we will avoid staying here in the future and caution others.

When we entered our room it had a musty smell. The TV did not work because there was no direct tv box. Front desk said they had to wait for another room to check out so they could swap it out. We left for dinner and when we came back we noticed they had not installed it. I went to front desk and they handed me the box so I could install it myself. I was unable due to missing cables. At this point I noticed the door would not latch and the frame around the door was coming apart. I went to front desk so we could change out rooms. Again this other room also smelled musty. Doors on the side of the hotel don't close posing a security threat. The elevators was not working and the stairwells were filthy some stairs even covered with vomit. Management was indifferent to our concerns. Worst experience ever. We even spoke with two other couples that were checking out at the same time and they had just as bad of an experience.

I would have rated this place lower if that was an option. From the moment you drive in you realize it may have been a mistake. Building is in need of serious repairs: carpeting, elevator inoperable, dirty walls, floors, noTP holder, the smell in the room was indescribable, safe didn’t work, security doors that didn’t work and others just propped open with rocks. The sound of people screaming at others with “colorful language” just terrified me / my daughter. Do not stay here unless you grew up in the projects…

Worst hotel experience ever! When we arrive I told the lady I was checking in under my name and she said nooo we don’t have a reservation for you, I said yes I have the confirmation here, she then told me no again, she acted as if she wasn’t even going to check! She then searched me by my ID and found my reservation….. the Elevator was broken so we had to walk 3 flights to our room, the carpets were absolutely disgusting, the hallways smelt awful. The tv in the room did not work, along with the bathroom light and the light over the bed. We had absolutely no towels in our room. It was such a bad experience to have on the night of our wedding, definitely considering it was $150 for the night 😡

This hotel is old, dirty, uncomfortable, with bad customer service. There was a big blood stain on the rug. The room smells like smoke. The bed was uncomfortable and I got a backache from sleeping on it. The bathroom has a filthy bath chair, broken light, outlet hole and broken toilet paper dispenser. No towels or shampoo and nothing was done for us after we requested repeatedly. Breakfast has not much of anything. The gym was awful, 3 out of the 4 machines were broken and the door was busted. To say the least, we won't be coming back.

We stayed here for my daughter’s graduation weekend. The elevators were out of order, the vending machines were out of order, very musky smell through hotel, lighting in bathroom was horrible no brighter than a nightlight, no blankets or bedspreads on the beds just sheets only. Only had 2 towel and 2 washcloths in room where 3 people were staying in the room. It was on the reservation. Ask for more towels and washcloths Friday night was told they would have to round some up, never received the clean towels until the next morning when I called and ask again for them and was told they would have to wash some and we got them about an hour later. I’ve never had this many issues with any hotel that I’ve ever stayed at.

This Super 8 fits the saying "you get what you pay for". The price was low and the room was clean but that's about all i can say positive. Some one had stepped in what I hope was mud and tracked it through the hotel. The offending substance was still in the floor when I checked out two days later. There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby and another unique unpleasant odor in the hallway. The elevator was broken so i had to take the stairs all weekend. In my room the main light was burnt out. I told the person at the desk and it was never fixed or given an apology. The lighting in bathroom was oddly dim. The toliet water ran all night. The front desk person gave me a key that opened multiple doors in my hallway. I accidentally tried the wrong door on my hallway and walked into the wrong room. I went to my room and the door opened and I tested the key on three other rooms and every door opened. It made me feel really unsafe and consequently i didn't keep anything in the room when I would leave. The front desk said "oh,i guess i gave you a master key..." with no apologies or other explanation. So how many others had a master key and could just walk into any room they wanted?!?! If i had my kids or wife with me i would have absolutely left and tried to find another place. As an adult male I accepted the risk for the cheap place to stay and to avoid the hassle of looking for another hotel at 10pm on a Friday night in a college town.

Elevator was broken, lobby restroom was out of order, room was filthy, carpet hadn't been vacuumed, stains on sheets, hairs in the bed along with other dirt that i have no idea what it was, fridge was frozen over and had a container of leftover food still in it. I think all they did was make the beds, didn't change bedding. So gross. I threw the key cards to the desk clerk and walked out. Horrible!!!

Our stay was impossible due to the disgusting sanitary conditions. Our first room (#104) smelled like 50 cats using the same dirty litter box. A worker convinced the man at the desk to give us a new room (#120). The new room smelled like smoke and strong chemicals/sprays. Our other room on the 3rd floor had not been cleaned, it had a dirty towel, garbage, and food smeared on the wall. The entire building reeked of smoke, chemical sprays, and there was garbage in the hallways. We all felt dizzy, nauseous, and had headaches within 15 minutes. We were told we would be refunded our money. It has been 6 days and we have not been refunded our money. We were in Lynchburg for our son's wedding, but we chose to sleep in our car rather than stay at this hotel.

Our room needed some maintenance! The Receptacle in the bathroom did not work. One bed was a queen & one bed was a full (unlike the description). The door was "out of square" and took effort to pull or push shut. We had to ask for wash cloths, soap, and shampoo.

There was like cigarette burns in the sheets and comforter , carpet was nasty it was a sinkhole , or very soft spot walking to the bathroom I was afraid I would fall through it so I had to walk around it. No wash clothes

The closet they had for us was blocked by the fridge and microwave so were unable to use it. The bedspread was as thin as the sheets. Asked for blankets and they both had holes in them. Brought in our own. Has to ask for everything. Towels, soap, toilet paper. Found 2 cockroaches during our 4 day stay. Very dated and rundown. Dealt with our own trash.

The entire place teaks of pot. My toilet would not flush even with water only unless you plunge it. The shower rod was completely broken and falling into the bathtub. The cabinets and surfaces in the room were gross and unclean. The paint and walls were destroyed and worn out. The room didn’t have a chair or a place to sit. It was over all gross.

We got a good rate and the location was perfect. Unfortunately, our room was in serious disrepair and the interior of the property needed a major upgrade. The sink was barely hanging on to the wall in the bathroom. There were places in the flooring where there were giant divots under the carpet. We tripped in our room on one such dip in the floor constantly. We ended up with an invasion of ants in the bathroom twice. At one point our keycard stopped working and we had to go down twice to request a new one.

The location is excellent, right next to the campus I was visiting. The receptionist was very helpful. Beyond this, I was extremely disappointed: the room had no blanket and no pillows, only one of the four lightbulbs worked, there was no cup for water, no chair to sit on. What's more, the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel was quite dirty.

Well, here's the deal - you definitely get what you pay for. Sometimes you get lucky...this was not really one of those times. It's a Super 8 - so, you roll the dice. My personal experience was a comfortable bed, sheets were clean. Pillows were fine. The room was non-smoking, but it definitely had a stale smoke smell to it. I had the window cracked open most of my stay to air it out. The desk chair was a curved wooden chair, but the "back" was cracked where it curved to the "seat"...so if I had leaned back, it would have snapped off. The TV didn't have any legs - it was just sitting on the table leaning against the wall (I never turned it on). The AC was loud, but very effective. The bathroom... Well, the toilet needed to be cleaned. It wasn't terrible except for some "matter" on the front rim (not sure how it got up there). There was a hair in the sink. The water pressure was "so-so", and probably the worst was that when I got in the shower and pulled the curtain...it appeared that someone had possible run out of toilet paper at one point and used the edge of the shower curtain. As I was already in, I kind of "looped" that section out of the tub and took my shower. Overall..."it was a room". I have learned my lesson for this particular hotel and I will not be staying here again. Unless they improve their standards to ensure cleanliness...and maybe not a broken chair, I couldn't recommend staying here.

I fully accept that they needed a cash deposit, but I felt it to be insulting. The key card did not work - it took several passes to get into the room every time. I don't know if they need new cards or if the problem was the door, but it needs to be fixed. I got one little pillow and they did not have more. There was no remote for my TV. There was no trap on the sink, so a lost a pendant from my necklace. On the good side, the staff was very nice and they tried to be helpful.

This Super 8 fits the saying "you get what you pay for". The price was low and the room was clean but that's about all i can say positive. Some one had stepped in what I hope was mud and tracked it through the hotel. The offending substance was still in the floor when I checked out two days later. There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby and another unique unpleasant odor in the hallway. The elevator was broken so i had to take the stairs all weekend. In my room the main light was burnt out. I told the person at the desk and it was never fixed or given an apology. The lighting in bathroom was oddly dim. The toliet water ran all night. The front desk person gave me a key that opened multiple doors in my hallway. I accidentally tried the wrong door on my hallway and walked into the wrong room. I went to my room and the door opened and I tested the key on three other rooms and every door opened. It made me feel really unsafe and consequently i didn't keep anything in the room when I would leave. The front desk said "oh,i guess i gave you a master key..." with no apologies or other explanation. So how many others had a master key and could just walk into any room they wanted?!?! If i had my kids or wife with me i would have absolutely left and tried to find another place. As an adult male I accepted the risk for the cheap place to stay and to avoid the hassle of looking for another hotel at 10pm on a Friday night in a college town.

It is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Two of the rooms had bugs in the bed and we cancelled those rooms and 4 from our group went and found another hotel. In my opinion this place should be shut down until excessive cleaning and upgrades are made. I had 18 women from my church and it was very disheartening to me and the group. I will NEVER come back to this establishment. The only plus was Winston the desk clerk. He was very friendly and so apologetic. If the health department investigated it would be shut down NOW!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. I will agree with other reviews that it is in serious need of a deep clean and an update. That being said i never saw a single bug anywhere in the hotel. The halls and lobby always smelled good, like they had just been cleaned. The hotel was quiet and the bed was comfortable. My husband and I slept great all 5 nights. The best part of the stay was how friendly and attentive the 2 ladies were that worked the front desk in the evening and overnight. They always greated us with a smile and the one time we had an issue with our room it was fixed immediately. We didn't partake in the free breakfast however from what i saw of it eveeything looked good. Yes this hotel is old but for the price of our stay and how friendly the staff was the other things could easily be overlooked.

Our adult sons traveled with us and were very satisfied with their room. After a rocky beginning, we were assigned to a room with firm mattress and was clean, and well appointed. One particular front desk member was exceptionally kind, personable and went out of her way to make our four day stay comfortable as I am handicapped. The dining area was always clean, fruit fresh and waffle batter prepared each morning.

I rented a jacuzzi suite and he tried to give me another room that was not equal or even close to what the pictures show! Very bad experience, I couldn’t wait to leave, then he only refunded a partial refund of when I paid more and said it would take 5-7 businesses days to recover my money.

Location was convenient beside the campus, but the property was pitiful. Key cards didn’t work, barking dogs, dirty carpets, dirty bathrooms, dog hair around the room, elevator didn’t work, lightbulbs out…so, so bad. There must be people living there, because there was a lot of lingering in the common areas. They required a $100 cash deposit, and they said if I didn’t have cash, we couldn’t stay. The front desk person was so downtrodden. The manager was trying to be helpful, but she just didn’t have a lot to offer. The property was in a mess all the way around.

We were in Lynchburg to visit Liberty University for my daughter. My older son had attended LU so when booking I thought I had stayed at this hotel before. This hotel is super convenient to the college. But once I arrived I quickly realized I had never been here. Before getting to the room we were informed the elevator was broken. I thought they were working on it. But no, it was down the 2 days we were there with no signs of being fixed. We were on the 3rd floor so it was a hike with our luggage, but doable. Once to our room we found both our door cards did not work. I had to go back down, get new cards, climb back up the stairs to discover only one card worked. So I decided I’d deal with an extra card the next day. We walk into the room to be punched in the face with an odor I can only describes as maybe a sports cream. It remained our whole stay. In the bathroom the switch for the exhaust did not work leaving everything feeling damp. There was no toilet paper holder. So toilet paper just sat wherever you placed it. There were only 2 paper thin towels provided, no hand towel, no wash cloth. Then there was no place to hang the towels. The bed was ok in comfort. But there was only a fitted sheet and top sheet. There was a cover but paper thin no warmth. And we needed the air on as the room was humid. There was no happy medium. I’m not a germaphob. But this place creeped me out!!! I will not return.

Property was very outdated, dirty room, smell, and had roaches. Room did not have nightstands nor lamps, location of the hotel is ideal for visiting family and friends of Liberty University. This can be a great hotel to stay at due to the location. Major renovations is highly and greatly needed.

It was by far the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Our reservation was for 2 nights but we asked for refund after 1st night. No hand towel. Only 2 towels and wash cloths for 3 people. Sheets were dirty/stained. Same with both washcloths...they looked like they were used as cleaning rags. No microwave or fridge. No hair dryer. TV not hooked up. Paint slopped on carpet in several places, on wall picture and on bathroom mirror. Mattress was stained and broken down and very uncomfortable. Breakfast area was unsanitary and had an army of small ants on the pancake syrup spout. When we notified staff, we were given a bottle of sugar free syrup, but no effort was made to clean the area where ants were. We would NEVER recommend this Super 8 to anyone!

The staff was friendly and helpful. Had trouble getting into the room at check in and our last night. Needs better breakfast. Two mornings coffee was great and hot third morning cold so we went to Hardee's to eat last morning cold we didn't have coffee or eat. And we was only there to sleep and take a shower. Don't think we will ever stay there again.

The front desk people were nice. But that was about all I can say. The hotel had very little at breakfast, no hair dryers, no snack machines. Neither of our TV's worked correctly. Just very run down. A lot of things broken that needed to be replaced. One of the towels I had was dirty or had spots on it in the bathroom.

Not very clean. We had reserved the room for five people in our family, and they only gave us two bath towels. The lady at the front desk acted like I was crazy when I asked for more towels. There were also only four pillows when we had reserved for five people. The toilet and bathroom overall was not very clean either. Breakfast was decent. Everything else was decent too.

This is a good choice for a budget motel. Nice to have a breakfast. Rooms were clean but lacked comfortable comforters and had a damp smell in each room. Shower curtain and some paint/filler needs some work, but it was overall clean. We enjoyed our stay and it saved us a bunch of money. We would stay again.

My wife and I arrived on Friday 10/6 at 3pm, knowing that we would be out all day and only spending our sleeping hours at the hotel. We checked in, dropped our stuff off in the room and didn't even look around much. When we returned to the hotel at 11:30pm, we found that the room had no towels, the bathroom door was broken beyond repair, the toilet was not only leaking at the base, and seat loose, but the toilet itself was not fastened properly, rocking all over the place. There were not even any disposable cups in the room. The GFCI outlet in the bathroom was faulty, and every stitch of furniture was wobbly and unstable. Oh, the clear plastic single bathroom sink handle, pull/push style was broken and when I grabbed it to turn the sink on, the sharp edge of the broken piece cut my finger open. Not a bad cut, but a cut nonetheless. Oh...lastly....the hot "Continental Breakfast" consisted of waffles, that there was no batter for, muffins that were not there, stale corn flakes, and I think 2 small yogurt cups. We were informed that the hotel was FULLY BOOKED as there was some sort of Professional Bowling event going on as well as something at Liberty University. If not for the staff of the hotel being super friendly and the coffee being very good, this hotel would not have any redeemable points to mention. To think that we spent $135 to stay in accommodations that were literally one step above pitching an tent in the woods makes me think I should request a refund.

Oh...lastly....the hot "Continental Breakfast" consisted of waffles, that there was no batter for, muffins that were not there, stale corn flakes, and I think 2 small yogurt cups. We were informed that the hotel was FULLY BOOKED as there was some sort of Professional Bowling event going on as well as something at Liberty University. If not for the staff of the hotel being super friendly and the coffee being very good, this hotel would not have any redeemable points to mention. To think that we spent $135 to stay in accommodations that were literally one step above pitching an tent in the woods makes me think I should request a refund.

Bedding was clean. Had to ask for towels. Room was kind of gross. Door was difficult to open. There was a gap under the door so the hallway noise was excessive. Had some weird spots on the wall that looked like they had attempted to clean by merely spraying cleanser on them. Breakfast was basic. The location was nice, but we will not be staying here again.

There was nothing on Breakfast bar but cereal, the bed had nothing but a sheet so luckily the heating worked so I could stay warm. TV didn’t work.

Went to take a shower and no towels so husband went down to get them and I pulled down sheets and was blood on sheets. Missing light bulbs. They moved us to another room and it’s missing a light bulb and no remote and no refrigerator.

The staff was rude and very unhelpful. The hotel was extremely dirty and run down. The keys did not work in our door. We were missing sheets and blankets and told they didn't have any. We only had one towel, which was dirty, but were told they didn't have any others. The bathroom was very gross. Yellow stains all over the bed. Greasy door knobs. And there was only cereal for breakfast.

Had a non smoking room that smelled like cigarette smoke along with most of the hotel. There was thick layer of dust on top of shelf and tc ect.. that obviously hadn’t been wiped off in a good amount of time
