What guests think

At Super 8 by Wyndham Sioux Falls/41st Street, reviews describe a budget stay with friendly staff and decent value, but an older property with mixed maintenance and cleanliness, variable room amenities, and occasional noise, parking, and security-door concerns.

Rooms feel dated yet functional; many guests like the beds, while amenities such as fridges or microwaves vary, and some note A/C or fixture issues and noise from exits, hallways, or nearby roads. Service is often kind and helpful, though several guests report unprofessional desk behavior and billing or deposit frustrations; breakfast ranges from well-stocked to minimal or late. The location is convenient to the interstate, mall, and dining, but expect a simple, no-frills stay with variable upkeep.

Though the hotel itself was ok. While there there was police involvement in a issue with a occupant(s) as well as the key only entrances that were supposed to be locked at all times were unlocked and accessible to people not supposed to be there as well as the homeless wondering around the property and vehicles

Everything was nice and comfortable except the east door is exit only. It’s very inconvenient. Because of this the parking lot gets full on the west side. If you have to park on the east side you have to walk around the bldg to enter.

The parking area around the hotel had a lot of sketchy people around. The one outside door (furthest from the desk and entrance) didn’t lock so anyone could enter the building. When we were leaving there was a man sleeping on the floor of the stairwell- possibly came in this door. The room didn’t look ANYTHING like the photos posted - it was quite dated. The room smelled funny and it wasn’t cleaned well - the tub was dirty, there was garbage under the bed. The breakfast was only meh.

Place was fine, guy who checked us in wasn't very friendly, actually wouldn't know because he said literally 6 words to me. Front door open 24 hours as "staffed" he didn't even look up when someone walked in, literally anyone could just walk in, and there were a few tweekers outside. Not impressed.

It was not a good time the place has cockroaches to give us a room full of bugs and then they gave us another room because we complained. And then that room had even more bugs and then the manager at the front desk was so rude and didn't even care unless he couldn't do anything for us we'll never go here again total thumbs down.

Walls and mop boards dusty and dirty. Funny smell in rooms. Sheets were clean but bedcovers were probably reused. Beds are a bit on hard side. A place to lay down and a shower and a simple breakfast. You get what you pay for. 2 Lamp shades were moldy. I informed the fella at front desk that they needed to be changed out.

Surprised at the good reviews. This place was dingy and smelly. Hallway carpet was disgusting and dirty, the entire hallway stank. No one at the front desk for a bit of time when I arrived. In the room, musty odor. Though the room and sheets seemed clean, upholstered chairs were downright dirty and looked like they spent some time in the trash before making it to the room. The place felt a little unsafe too, with a bunch of “workers” hanging out at the back door, which is supposed to be key entry but was open the entire time. With so many other options in the area, I really wish I chose somewhere else but I didn’t know and relied on the reviews which I’m shocked at. My room was 104 and I was there for one night. Do not recommend at all. Go to the Best Western, looked so much better.

Billboard and property sign highlight being newly renovated yet the hallways and rooms had worn and stretched out carpet. I suspect the signs went up years ago when it was actually done yet never taken down. Bedding was cheap and showed signs of age. Blanket was old and worn and as light a blanket as I have ever seen. Pillows were lumpy and stiff. I suggest asking for the top floor to avoid having to listen to an upstairs neighbor stomp around late night and early morning. Cleanliness was fair but couldn’t really tell due to the brown decor and poor lighting in the room. Included breakfast was good enough to satisfy most any appetite with an offer of fruit, protein, carb options and drink selections. We booked on the reviews and ratings but I would suggest these were a bit slanted somehow.

Though the room was okay, all of the furnishings and materials were very dark making the room quite depressing. The bath fan sounded like a metal beater in a metal bowl, the shower dripped all night, and i have never seen a bath sink so low. Breakfast did not have any meat.

For the cost, the room had no coffee maker, fridge or microwave. Not enough soap available and to get ice, you had to go back downstairs to the lobby. The room had definitely been smoked in and the a/c wasn't on when we arrived, with plenty of notice. It's July and hot. Would not stay again.

Everything was great accept our room was at the very end of the hall on the first floor right by the exit and every time someone came in or out that exit the door slammed and it was loud. Must have been some local meth heads there cause that door open and closed all night long. Could hear all the people talking, coughing and laughing all night. Especially when the came in and out tne exit door

The front-desk staff was excellent: competent and personable. The motel room was of excellent quality for any hotels in this same price range. The room was clean and the linens were extremely fresh. The breakfast area was crowded with young people in town for the State Track Meet, yet the hotel’s management team provided an expansive continental breakfast while keeping the breakfast space clean and well-stocked. This hotel was great on all facets.

I checked in very late, like 2 in the morning, there was no one at the desk so I called a number left there, the entire time I was checking in, the man who was checking me in was talking on speaker phone in a foreign language and made at least 1 joke about his greencard. Before 9, housekeeping was pounding on our door. They came by 3 times in less than an hour despite it being well before checkout, they didn't stop until I yelled at them that we still had an hour. Parking lot was small, sketchy characters hanging around, everything was under construction and they were far more expensive than a chain Super 8 usually is. Would not recommend. Would not stay again.

We traveled here during a time when everything was sold out due to events happening in Sioux Falls. We weren't there for any of those events, just had to stop on a long road trip. Aside from the prices everywhere being absolutely outrageous, the staff was friendly, the room very clean and the hotel was quiet. Huge props to the hotel staff for having such a good breakfast with lots of options and so well stocked. I'd stay again, especially since the nightly cost is typically very affordable.
