The Dalles Inn

We were placed in a room on the second floor of a building without an elevator. I have a bad foot that makes climbing stairs difficult especially with luggage. Also the tv pixelated so bad it was unwatchable

The pool was closed. Partially under construction (not mentioned in add) so only limited cold breakfast available. Stairs were rickety to second floor. Area was generally rundown. Room was adequate and clean but badly in need of renovation

No elevator, no place to sit in common area for breakfast. Quiet and clean. Staff efficient and fast.

Christina at the front desk was amazing! Our check in was great! The swimming pool was closed, filled with green water (apparently the hotel had been sold) and many things looked terrible, as if it was being nevhlected until the remodel/renovation was to start. The hotel used to have a nice pool area with bbq and seating area. Now nothing available for outdide seating. No fresh baked little cookies. Stairs outside were blocked off with signs stating they were unsafe. (Steps were crumbling along with the risers and the landing) This was what you looked at as you were entering the lobby. Our bathrom had one light bulb working in the fixture about the mirror. The breakfast area had a very small selection of food. Toaster waffles, bagels, yogurt, muffins, cereal, fruit cup. The OJ seemed to be straight concentrate. We added a 1/2 cup water to make it paletable, No hot food. No sugar packets, No eating utensils. I personally watched several occupants look through cupboards and drawers for these things. Someone went to the front desk and asked for sugar packets from a young man and another person called. 7 am was breakfast time Many of us went elsewhere to eat. I believe the hotel was pretty full of ccupants because it was The Dalles 3 day car event. Cruisin the Gorge and the parking area was had several car show cars as well as other vehicles. Overall (with the exception of Christina) I was very disappointed and embarrassed because we had people traveling with us.

Decrepit, smelly common areas, the most pitiful continental breakfast, and the pool looked like a science experiment. The rooms were clean and comfortable, if spartan.

The room and bed were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Since the meeting/breakfast area was under renovation, breakfast was in the lobby and there was no hot breakfast, but that would be a temporary situation. Parking spots were tight. All in all the stay was pleasant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not too bad considering the remodeling happening, and was available pretty much any time. The property is undergoing a remodel and name change, which caused us quite a bit of confusion on where to go, where to check in, and where to park. It all worked out though. We will likely go again, and will enjoy the remodeled accommodations.

This was a great little place. Just had tough time parking in the small parking places.

The pool was empty, what gives? Looks like it has been empty for some time.

It's under a lot of construction and should probably close while all that is happening.

The place quiet and the staff were polite. The accommodations were under refurbishment, Our room which appeared to have been remodeled but was showing signs of deterioration, the pillows emitted odor and the hard flooring soiled our bare feet: wiping the floor with a damp towel revealed the floor was quite dirty as the towel was blackened by the uncleanliness of the flooring. I appreciate the lack of carpeting but the floor needs to be moped more frequently. If we stay in The Dalles again it will be in different accommodations.

Unfortunately, my review is not an A rating. I noticed dust on the tables, nightstands, the tub appeared to dirty, calking around the tub was stained and dirty. We had large gaps in our entrance door which we could hear conversations in the hallway. The

The room was clean and bed comfortable. We walked everywhere, which was cool and convenient. We went to the farmers market and the Neon Museum (highly recommended!). Cute town and fun little coffee shops to visit. Overall a pleasant stay and reasonably priced compared to other places. It's an easy jaunt over to Hood River or down to Kee-Ne-Tah. I would stay there again.

My stay was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was standard. Room was updated and clean. Will stay again

Filthy; headboard torn and stained; bed was like a catcher’s mitt; forget about ‘breakfast included’, it’s mini boxes of cereal, overripe fruit, and pre-packaged pastry; parking is tight and not nearly enough when at capacity;!TV has HDMI ports punched so you cannot use a Firestick or similar. Overall, just a gross, run down hovel. I have NEVER stayed in such awful accommodations. Avoid this dump at all costs.

We have stayed here in the past. Used to be a hiding gem. The room we had was dirty. They had flooring not carpet and the floor was so dirty we had to wash our feet before bed or even putting on shoes. The furniture was shoehorned in and felt l seemed like they just threw it in with no thoughts. Staff was nice but when we arrived early she we had to come back at 3 and walked away. We were on motorcycles. Cant just go for a drive. No offer of us leaving our bags . I would rate them very low on my list to go back. Pricy for what we got.

The Cleaniness of the hotel in general and room was a 10/10 ….The amazing staff and their hospitality. I will be back

Our room was not turned over well. Lot of hair in the bed, pillows and counters. Not our hair

My stay was great even with the remodeling. Everyone was very nice, even construction workers! The construction workers started at 7am, so a bit noisy, but check out is at 11 anyway, so no problem. I wanted to stay in main building instead of annex. Th were able to accommodate me. They did the last time I stayed as well. Room was nice and clean. Everything in room worked. I had no problems with anything. I'll stay here again.

The floors and walls are so thin I heard the neighbors alarm go off at 4am… then an hour of them walking around getting ready to leave. Not enjoyable!

Old and dated. But ok. Stayed in the second building. Room had an old musty smell. It was clean overall but just old and dated despite the fresh paint on the walls.

The drains were clogged in the sink and the bathtub, and the toilet flushed very very slowly. Extremely small rooms that were probably average in the 1970s have not gotten better with time. Serviceable, but not for $150/night.

The Dalles has a great location in the historic district but is getting old. Also during my stay my WiFi didn’t work and there was a minimal grab breakfast (post Covid) with no coffee. Laundry is horrible. Rooms facing train and road are noisy. I probably won’t stay here again.

WLAN doesn’t work in our room. Breakfast is only to go at the moment based on renovations.

The AC unit in the room is very loud. It had us tossing and turning all night. Other than that, the room and hotel was clean. Check in and check out was easy.

Restaurants nearby. Small room but clean and comfy. Breakfast was humble (they are in the process of remodeling and there was no comfortable dining area).

Nice room. The street noise was more than expected. The staff were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was only so so.

The heater in my room did not work correctly. When I woke up in the morning the temperature in my room was the same as outside - low to mid 50's F. I do not plan to stay at this property again.

I wanted to give a higher rating for the Dalles Inn, but I had a horrible experience at the end. I was in town for a family funeral and left something in the hotel room and called the same day to retrieve it, and the morning after, and was not followed up with. I’m left to believe that the item was stolen by the cleaning staff and I’m very disappointed that I wasn’t called back after calling twice and asking for it. I’m 100% positive it was in the room after I checked out.

The management and staff are VERY friendly, professional, and obviously well-trained to satisfy customer expectations. I'll stay with The Dalles Hotel team again. I recommend you do, too.

The parking lot in an area surrounding is under construction, which is not their fault but definitely an inconvenience. I prepaid through the Expedia app and when I went to check in, she told me I owed more money. It took her quite a bit of time to figure out that I had already paid. The rooms Are dated but the beds seem clean. The toilet won’t flush. There is no stopper for bath and we were looking forward to a soak after a very long road trip and camping. The hairdryer doesn’t work and started to make a bad smell. When we called front desk she said sorry several times but did t have another room with two beds to offer, and didn’t offer a way to fix anything. She said to talk to the front desk tomorrow about a refund but she herself didn’t help.

Front desk was amazing. We were 3 hours early and they rushed to get our room ready and were genuinely interested in hearing about our trip. Room was clean.

The staff is excellent: easy check in, Kaley (I believe) helped us with a tv connection problem by offering to come to our room to see what she could do, found the problem and fixed it in less than 5 minutes - great! Very helpful.

Perfect location on the edge of downtown. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Clean and quiet.

THis place is not like the pictures at all. Its in a scary industrial neighborhood. We didn't even go in - just kept on driving and cancelled our reservation. Will not use expedia again unless we get some of our money refunded. Website had a very poor representation of this motel!

Location was very favorable. Complex needs updated for the cost!

Clean, updated with comfortable beds. But noisy AC and did not feel totally safe when walking in one direction from the hotel.

The only thing we didn't like was their breakfast. Only Danish, bread and bagels mostly. No protein at all. Coffee was lukewarm.

Front desk staff was very friendly and gave excellent dining recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel offers a continental breakfast of some wrapped muffins, cereal, juice and coffee. I was hoping for some protein options, so we ended up at McDonald’s. Overall a good stay at a good price

Location was great and room was clean, great for the price. The amenities were lacking on the property. Location was great! The pool was out of order and looked like it needed maintenance and the breakfast was less than appetizing. There was cereal but no milk, beverage machine that was broken, no cups, no coffee or water. Instant oatmeal with no bowls or a microwave.

The room was small and old. They are in the process of remodeling so it will get better. King size bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pathetic. Had very little to offer for breakfast. The room was clean. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Great bed, very spare decor , but room was clean, dim lights in room. Breakfast was cold grab and go, went to McDonalds down the road. Front desk service was friendly . The price we paid was good, and we slept well. Since the hotel was under renovation, it wasn’t bad overall.
