EV Charging should be complimentary and function. Charge Point did not allow two vehicles to connect at the same time and it was a PAY charger. Who is responsible? Delegation to a supplier does not dismiss the responsibility of the host!!!

Always wanted to stay at Statler and glad I did. Great room overlooking main campus and Lake Cayuga. Not subtle but still tasteful Cornell themed decor everywhere. Great brunch at Banfi and great cocktails and snacks in the lounge. Very helpful staff. Gym was small. Good enough for a run or bike ride but no room to do much else. Water bottle renewal option was unique.

Rather overpriced for the basic room. Chemical or musty smell from carpet but not noticeable when ac on cold. Someone's sock left in dresser. The pillows were numerous but deflated quickly when used. Bedding was clean. No microwave in room. Bathroom was excellent with shower that doesnt leak.

Excellent property and facilities fun by highly trained hotel management students from Cornell. Superb communication and attention to details. Couple of things that stood out for our family: (1) Rooms were cleaned and organized every day as if it was a new occupancy. Coffee, condiments and water replenished to its original levels. Design of toilets and amenities were thoughtful for example shower controls were indented to avoid getting wet while controlling temperature. Thoughtful bathroom amenities that were of pristine quality. (2) Room size was spacious and space efficiently utilized. Plenty of storage space. (3) Customer support and service was par excellence - they fulfilled a special request for airport drop off 15 min ahead of their regular schedule. They had our luggage ready, loaded and seeked us out from a corner of the lounge where we were engrossed in deep conversation completely oblivious of the time. All in all a superb relaxing time for the family on a mission to tour the university. This was our first trip to Ithaca and hope to visit again.

First time staying at the famed Statler. Customer service was exceptional, room was nice (amazing view from one of the Tower Rooms), walls were a bit thin, asked for an extra blanket and got a quilted mattress cover but all in all it was good. We ate at Taverna Banfi and will not be going back - each dish was overly salted (crazy amounts), the lighting was like a diner’s, the tables uneven, banquet too low for the height of the table, and our waitress was quite inept even at the simplest of things. Conveniently located so a great place to stay while visiting Cornell, just expect some bumps.

We loved the enthusiasm of the student workers and wish them luck in their careers! We recognize they are not professionals yet, but will be very soon. The room itself was lovely, but note that #719 has a very noticeable sloping floor, which tilted the bed toward the headboard - this made for an uncomfortable sleep.

Liked that it was within the university vicinity. The washroom experience was great - hot water, faucet pressure was nice and powerful, toilet flush was also powerful, nice toiletries provided. The negatives: bed could be more firm, and the decor was a bit out dated, breakfast could be provided as most hotels at this price range are all included. Also, upon check-in staff did not mention if there were additional facilities like a gym or a pool at the hotel.

I felt like I had to be the students’ supervisor throughout my stay. I can’t think of another hotel where I’ve been on the phone so frequently with one department or another in the hotel. I had to call multiple times for almost everything related to my stay - in room dining issues, package receiving issues, transportation issues… though everyone was very polite, it all just seemed super unorganized, and I felt like the students needed stronger supervision to ensure the guests still got a first-class experience. I spent a lot of extra time following up on things, so I had very little time while in town to do the things I wanted!

I stayed here as my last night in Ithaca after my son’s graduation from the hotel school. The morning we were to leave (and drive 16 hours across the country) the hotel did not have hot water. I understand they were having a maintenance issue but the service recovery was nonexistent. I was told, “sorry for the inconvenience.” I was not offered any sort of compensation. A hotel needs to provide 2 services - a bed and a functioning bathroom. I could not sit around and wait for the hot water to be fixed so I took a FREEZING shower. At checkout neither desk staff mentioned the water or asked about my stay. As I left I told them I was very unhappy about their response to the water and one of the 2 male staff members literally smirked at me. This was at 8:30 am on May 27th if Statler management wanted to identify the smirker, unfortunately I didn’t get his name. Pretty poor service from the school of hospitality - my son was embarrassed when I told him about my experience. He has worked at the Statler as well.
