Completely outdated. Switched rooms 3x. Items broken: thermostat, remote, curtain rod, bathroom tiles, telephone, lampshade. Adjoining room door had 2"gap at top & bottom so guests entire conversation was heard at 12am. Actually heard the neighbors complain about the hotel being extremely run down and their filthy toilet that the male guest didn't even want to sit on! Wouldn't recommend staying in the main hotel ever. It was a total waste of almost $400. Only got about 4-5 hours sleep after switching rooms, 3x, listening to the neighbors argue thru the door and being aggravated over everything that was broken or missing. Had to sleep with desk chair against the door, since the chain lock was missing the last link to secure it. Extremely disappointed!! Stay elsewhere!!

Some old-school institutions are time capsules in a positive, nostalgic sense: allowing guests to revisit a golden, bygone era without the use of a time machine, and without sacrificing modern sensibilities and comforts. Villa Roma is a time capsule in the complete opposite sense. The decor is dated. The amenities (when they're open - they run on an esoteric schedule and an even more convoluted ticket-based economic system) are shabby, including a zipline not even Tim Robinson would touch. The rooms are very run-down and missing basic features - the windows were only outfitted with blackout curtains & a sheer privacy screen would have been nice. Raising concerns to the front desk will find you up against a brick wall of intransigent, inhospitable attitude. My partner and I sought directions to the go-kart track, and after a shuttle ride over, learned the attraction required tickets that must be purchased at the same front desk from whence we came. Upon trodding back to the desk, the concierge seemed befuddled that we requested directions because we actually wanted to ride the go-karts. Listen, I'm a grown adult, and if I want to ride go-karts, that's my god-given right. (Meanwhile, a lady next to us wanted to book an extra room and was directed to an app. I guess they have some modern features here?) Villa Roma would benefit from upgrading their amenities and room features and providing adequate customer service while maintaining their nostalgic, time-capsule charm.
