Immediately as I walked into my room I was hit by a repulsive wet dog smell. The air conditioner was on 60 degrees, “cool”, and “high” (when I walked in and for three days of continuous use) yet the room was uncomfortably hot the entire time. Both of those issues are probably directly related to a dirty air filter, which is a ten minute fix if they bothered to maintain the building. The carpet in my room was somehow both sticky and greasy. Half of the vending machines in the hotel just take your money and don’t dispense anything. The only “luxury” they offer is free coffee from 6 am - noon, and every time I went to get some the machines were empty, with staff actively ignoring me as I pumped empty machines within their eyeline. When I checked in, the woman at the counter took my name, typed for a minute, pointed at the card reader with my total and walked away without explaining anything. I stayed here for three nights. Every time I went back to my room both of my key cards did not work and I had to wait in line at the front desk to have them reset. The water pressure in the shower was nice though. Unfortunately the same was true with the bathroom sink, to the point where the counter (and you) get soaked as soon as you turn it on. Don’t fall for the “cheap room close to downtown.” Just splurge on the Holiday Inn or something. There aren’t even sidewalks on Saunders Street to get downtown easily.

The only thing this hotel had going for it was the location and the price compared to others. There was a major water leak in the lobby. The hotel had a peculiar smell. The room AC made a horrible noise. There was an unsavory person outside when we got back in the evening from our event. The room had one towel and the pillows and sheets seemed to be damp from the humidity. If you can find something else I would.

Elevator out of order again. People appeared to be living in the stairs area's along with people sleeping in their vehicle's more than 2 day's in back of parking area. We left 1 night early and still paid.

The elevator was out. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs to our room. Stairwell doors were propped open which I am pretty certain is against fire code. Also, the stairwell was filthy with stained walls, railings, and stair treads. The room was fine and comfortable.

The lady that worked the front desk on Aug 7th around 1pm and the 8th around 10am was not friendly. I tried calling multiple times to see if I can do early check in as that is what the agent from Red Roof Inn said I could do. No one answered the phone. When I came in, she was talking through her AirPods with someone. She didn’t explain the policy and procedure, didn’t hand a receipt no nothing. Even when I asked for a receipt she said they would give it at check out but I didn’t receive anything. Even when we checked out she asked if we were checking out, to put the keys in the box. No, have a great day or how was your stay, nothing. I’d like to think she was having a bad day but I don’t know. The room was not up to par. It was okay since it was only for one night but rather disappointing since we paid over $100 for the night. There were stains on the floor that was either blood or just hair dye. The bath tub was stained, low water pressure, dusty and the fridge door was dirty. The beds were clean but the quality of the mattress was bad, you could feel the springs. Walls were very thin, I could hear conversations from the other rooms and I can hear when they turn their shower or sink on. It gets super loud when the water is turned on. Something is wrong with the elevator! The doors would open half way then close. They when you’re in the elevator, you’re stuck on one floor for a little then it opens. Very concerning…

There were multiple roaches and ants in my room. Unfortunately there was also a really loud clicking in the lights that would not turn off at all. The staff was almost never at the front desk and there was music being played in each room at a vibrating level almost all night. It kind of felt like living in a dorm with dirty college kids. Couldn’t sleep because the bed was so close to where I saw the roaches and ants.

Upon walking in the smoke free room it smelled of smoke and there was a bag over the smoke detector so the people before me probably were smoking. The tub wasnt clean nor the toilet.

First off, we booked the hotel room the day before but they wouldn't let us check in because they told us our payment didn't go through, we waited about an hour to be told they were just sending us to our room and told us they would wave the deposit, the whole time one of them was on the phone, another one was eating McDonald's and wrapped in a blanket watching tv on a tablet and laughing with another lady and making comments about people going in and out of the hotel. We get to the room and theres no microwave or mini fridge like the room we booked showed to have which we only packed frozen food, my fiance went down to the front desk because the phone didn't work, they then told him they needed to charge his card 2 times and he had to call hotels.com to get a refund and bambled on about some random things, they had us switch rooms to one with a microwave and fridge but it felt like we had to beg for it. We got up to the room and the whole place smelled like weed, there was a pizza box open in the middle of the hallway, and the room had bugs on the window, the "clean and new" cups smelled like mouthwash and when we showered water got all over the floor. We had to rush to get ready for our concert, we came back to the hotel around 11 and we are tired and have things to carry, they call us over and have us pay the deposit they told us not to worry about earlier. We chose a cheaper hotel because we dont have much money but we couldn't enjoy ourselves because we were worried.

So first of all they "sold out" of the room type that I had RESERVED 2 months earlier. That should not be possible if they understand what a reservation is. Then they charge an additional $3.25 "Incidentals Fee" that is not disclosed when making reservations via Expedia. It is not much money, but it is the principle of it that is wrong. Then the "lock" for the room literally had no catch, just a smooth metal plate so the deadbolt couldn't stop anything because the bolt literally has no receiver. The A/C also could only run for 10-40 seconds (not kidding) at a time between 1-2 minute rest periods all night long. I stayed here approximately 4 years earlier and it was quite nice, but has gone down hill tremendously since then.

The staff was super friendly and helped us when our room keys stopped working on day two of the trip. Beds were super comfortable and room was very clean. Our only complaint was a slight odor from the A/C and that our chain lock for the door was broken.

Property was rather old and needed to be updated. Room smelled like old cigarettes, the tv remote did not work with the TV but TV had buttons on the side so it was ok. The other lock on the door was broken so you only had one instead of two. Staff were super nice and kind. Other than the ceiling in the roof being slightly damaged the room was clean.

Reception and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The front staffed was able to help us whenever we had an issue and the room was perfect. The cleaning staff was very polite and thorough when cleaning our room. The quality of the hotel is perfect. Was here last year, was here this year and will definitely return here next year

I enjoyed the stay. Room was clean, front desk ladies were super nice and sweet. It’s close to downtown and convenient. I just wish there were more options for food along Saunders St. The area isn’t overall that bad, it is in an industrial area, so that’s to be expected. Looking forward to the next time I’m in town. I’d give this one another shot!

Staff was very courteous. However, I booked this hotel because it was a PLUS hotel. There wasn't any breakfast as advertised on the website and there was an odd smell, almost like a vape or pot, throughout the hallways, even though it was a non-smoking hotel. While we were there, the toilet broke - clean water from the tank was all over the floor. The staff fixed it quickly and offered to move us to another room. I was attending an event at the Raleigh Conference Center, so I wasn't spending much time in the room. I don't think I will return.
