What guests think

Quality Inn Mount Airy Mayberry earns praise for friendly staff, a convenient location near downtown and restaurants, and solid value for simple stopovers, while critiques focus on its older, motel-style property and variable upkeep across rooms and amenities.

Rooms can feel cramped with very small bathrooms, older mattresses and pillows affecting comfort, some noise from AC or thin walls, and the property uses exterior-entry stairs with no elevator. Cleanliness feedback ranges from very clean rooms to musty odors, stray hairs or bugs, and uneven housekeeping, with occasional construction activity nearby. Breakfast opinions range from satisfying hot options to limited selection or items not replenished. Overall, it suits travelers seeking a straightforward stop with friendly service in a handy location.

The pool was green and our room was near the pool and it was very noisy. Our room had no towels and the bed was uncomfortable. The tv remote was broken and the tub was dirty. The freezer needed de-iced and we couldn’t get our ice pack in it. Do not recommend.

Well lit parking. Easy to find. Outside stairs/ outside doors. No elevator. Clean room. Beds are comfortable. AC rattled some so I had to mess with the settings to get that to stop. Didn’t eat the breakfast. Good hotel if you need a clean room and shower for a night.

Everything was nice and clean. No complaints about the room except mattress was too hard for my liking. I was concerned about the railings going up to our second floor room. Two of the rails were very wobbly and I did not feel secure counting on them to help support me while using the staircase. Sunday breakfast was very good.

We had a wonderful stay. We were in town for a funeral and found this location to be very clean and quiet and comfortable. They had an excellent hot breakfast and even had a cappuccino machine! Their pool was very clean and well lit. Staff was friendly and courteous. Would absolutely stay here again!!

The room smelled like cigarettes, so gross, the bed was horrible, woke up in back and neck pain, looked like the tub was leaking, breakfast was limited and the eggs were nasty. The grounds were well kept, I will say that, and it was close to Aldi's, KFC, Arby's etc, so that was a positive, but that was it. No pet area at all, but enough grass for dogs to do their business.

Breakfast area was clean and had good choices. Room needs more attention regarding cleanliness. When I plugged in the air conditioner their was a dead cockroach on the carpet. Quality Inn should have a little more quality control. It was apparent that cleaners do not pay attention to details. We were travelling so were only in the room for less than 12 hours so we made do.

Hotel is about average overall. No major complaints but nothing to boast about either. It was a little noisy… numerous customers hanging out outside their rooms smoking and talking at night… but nothing rowdy. Bed was so so … mattress a bit mushy ( not firm at all). Price was good. Breakfast was good.

Only had one issue, when I first checked in and got to my room housekeeping wasn't quite finished making the bed which wasn't a big deal except that she took a lit cigarette in with her and burned the top sheet and it took several hours to get the smell out of the room, it was a NON-SMOKING room. Otherwise everything else was great. Beds are super comfy, when the sheets don't have cigarette burn holes. I alerted the manager right away but saw the same housekeeping staff member the next day smoking a cigarette while cleaning rooms.

First room was on back side of hotel and the parking lot was packed and I was unable to get a parking spot due to number of other guests all in one side and a landscaping truck blocking the lot. I went back to the office and asked if I could be moved due to the situation and the lady at the desk did move me to another room but was not happy to do so and was visibly upset with my request. No other guests were in the lobby at this time so it was not due to being busy. Toilet was not mounted properly and seat was dirty and not screwed down properly. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked as usual.
