Quality Inn Goldsboro

The place was comfortable. Very quiet. Wish they had more parking spots I had to end up parking on the side.

Rude staff. Ac units leaking on floor. Doors were so off center they never actually shut. Lame excuse for a pool wasn’t even open mid-summer. People hanging around outside smoking and listening to loud music. Mid tier at best for the free breakfast. Window fell out of the wall when trying to open. Old worn out furniture. I’m embarrassed I paid what I did for what we got.

Ice maker on the second floor and the coffee maker in the breakfast area were both out of service. The room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

Locking key card entry side door was broken and didn't lock. Also I was charged a $50 dollar security deposit just incase they would have found evidence of smoking in my room, which I am a non smoker. Our hallway on the third floor was filled with pot smoke and Quality in is worried about cigarette smoke. Hope I get my security deposit back. If this is Quality Inn policy at all of there locations then we won't be staying at this hotel chain again.

No vending machines, there were roaches in my room, the floor tile was peeling in several places, I was right off the lobby so it was very noisey as well.

Counter person Saturday night had no interest in working or being helpful. Did not answer questions. Discovered our card (room key) had not been activated. Had to go back to counter to get it activated. Room was clean. Refrigerator did not cool - this was reported and will be interesting to see if/how hotel handles that. The ice maker on our floor did not work. The outside door near our room - card reader did not work so could not enter. Coffee maker did not work in complimentary breakfast in the lounge. Counter person Sunday morning also had an "I don't care attitude." I was shocked I had to leave a deposit that was not in your literature. Staff refused to refund my deposit Sunday morning.

Bathroom could have been cleaner! Looked like toilet seat wasn't even wiped off

Only issue I had is that we stayed for 5 days and no one came to clean our room. We had to ask for clean towels, and they never restocked toiletries. We had to go buy toilet paper at the grocery store.

Check in person was friendly and very chatty to the person ahead of us and then to us; the friendliness was great, the standing in line with our luggage while she chatted away was not. A second person was behind the counter but did not help us, speak to us, or apologize for the wait. The room and the whole facility were clean and bright; everything was functional. Linens were fresh and beds comfortable.

That wasn't a dealbreaker, though. But there are a couple of reasons why we won't stay here again. For one thing, the A/C unit leaks every time it rains. I'm not talking about a small puddle around the unit. I stepped out of bed into a cold puddle. So that was fun. Pretty sure it got into the seams of the flooring, too— which could end up being a mold problem if it isn't already. Every time this happened, the front desk staff just handed us a stack of towels, shrugged, and basically said, "Yeah, it be like that." 🙄 It's also time to replace the desk chairs. We kept finding black bits of something in our beds, and finally figured out it was from the vinyl peeling off the chair. Our feet had picked it up off the floor. Other rooms had chairs just like ours. Then during the first night of our two-night stay, the hotel's fire alarm went off because someone was smoking pot. You could smell it on every floor. While that's not the hotel's fault per se, the fact that our room also reeked of stale cigarette smoke makes me think that they need to do something about the smoking. There were cigarette burns on the side of our bathtub.

The room was okay but the bathroom was not very clean. Breakfast was very, very disappointing, just a few cold options. For the money we paid our overall experience was very disappointing.

This was likely my worst experience at a hotel. Hear me out, I did not go in with High Expectations. It is a “Quality” Inn.. however… the person at the front desk insisted she needed to charge me for the room, even though I paid on Hotels.com and could show her my receipt. She said she still had to swipe my card for the room and incidentals but I could talk to her manager about it the next day. In an effort to have a place to sleep before my kids’ swim meet the next day, I gave her my card. We got to the room and it smelled like mold (not stuffy) - MOLD. There were towels underneath the AC units (to collect water?!) I went back down to talk to the same front desk person. Her response, “all the rooms smell like that, it’s an old hotel that leaks when it rains” 😳 Y’all it took FOUR days for the manager to finally call me back. He tried to assure me that all the rooms don’t smell like that but they “new employee” who told me that sounded like she was just speaking her truth and I should have just slept in my car. Thankfully, the manager reversed the charge and offered me Choice Hotels points for my frustration but I never got the email he promised.

It was a nice place to stay. I was only able to watch cable on the TV. I couldn't access my streaming portals but I would not hesitate staying there again.

I am seeking compensation for this. When I arrived on 8/30/24 there was an inch of standing water on the ground surrounding the AC unit and I did not notice it. I had my children with me and when I requested that one of my sons get off the bed because it was time for a shower he got down in a very normal manner and ended up slipping on the water and hitting his head on the ground and the AC unit. Luckily he is OK, however my son is epileptic and this could\'ve caused Major issues. When I spoke to the Hotel about it they said "oh sorry there is a storm in the area and the water is coming in form the AC unit all of the rooms are doing it so here is a few extra towels." I then spent the rest of the weekend replacing sopping wet towels in my room to ensure that my children would be safe. Safety should not have to be an issue I am concerned with while I am staying at a hotel.I have stayed with this hotel previously with no issues. So for management to not even care or listen to my concerns about my child\'s safety and medical well being was absolutely astonishing. I then tried to contact Expedia and had no luck being transferred to a new hotel. I then went multiple nights with little to no sleep due to the constant worry that my children would have a seizure do to being injured on this property

Not a bad place but some furniture, doors, lamps, etc., were a little bad condition. Such as bathroom door that rubbed the door jam, the finish on some wood furniture was chipped, or had paint on them.

Air conditioning was leaking on the floor real bad had to use towels

Overall good, furñiture Could be upgraded their room in which I stayed. The desk chair was peeling. Some of the upholstery came off. I put a towel in the chair. I was fine, but that could be taken care of. Overall I had a good stay.

My stay at Quality Inn was good. However, the second night, the other guests were a little loud and the hallway smelled of marijuana.

The area around the property was very loud and made it hard to sleep. It’s a basic no frills hotel.

The lady that works here was NOTTTT even at the front desk for my check-in. I waited 30 minutes at the desk and called and called and called and walked around the entire property and she was outside washing her car... instead of working behind the desk. There were other guests waiting on her as well and she was SO RUDE AND NASTY to me and i want people to know not to book here.. especially not online because you will have a room that you cant even use BECAUSE NOBODY WILL CHECK YOU IN!!!!!

They lost my reservation, staff was no help. She couldn't be bothered from her phone conversation she had going with friends. She just told me contact 3rd party. I finally hot ahold of someone at hotels.com chat. He called her and she said no reservation. So i left and drove 4 hours home. Will never use Quality Inn again. Not sure if i will use hotels.com again either. Could not get a live person on phone. Call the number and just prompts that are no help. Kept sending me confirmation over and over by email. Woman behind counter said no reservation. It was a long 4 hour ride home.

I booked and paid for my reservation 2 rooms for 1 night to accommodate my family. Only to get there and find out that because im a local resident my deposit was 3x the amount for those coming in from out of town. I had no idea this was a thing and that hotels could actually do that. There's no info about this charge anywhere on their app or the app i booked with. I get to the hotel and they hit me with this additonal $300 deposit fee. I didnt have the money as this year had been a tough time for my family and I. Because its been a rough year i came across a little extra money and took them to the movies and wanted to give them some extra relaxtion that's different from being home because i live in a rough neighborhood. Anyways the clerk who was a nice lady told me that yes i would have to pay the deposit. I said i had no clue of this additional charge and if i can't stay without the deposit fee can i get a refund. This lady looked me in my face and said no, my manager doesn't give refunds. And i just left defeated..So that was me losing $300 all because i couldn't pay a fee that i didn't know about until i went to check in.. The most disappointing part of it all my family's faces as i walked to the car.

We have stayed at this property in the past, and as we've seen previously, it is excellent, especially the nice young lady who checked us in, very nice and efficient.

The staff were fantastic, friendly and very professional. The facilities were very clean.

One day stay. Good location. Somewhat quiet considering it's next to a major road.

As eluded to in my title, I stayed here once before in November. It is conveniently located, nicely furnished, clean, comfortable and affordable.

I have stayed here on a few occasions while in town. It is easy to get to off the main road and I have enjoyed my stays.

There was a milk shortage during the breakfast and my key card was not working properly.

Well im on the road alot and stay in hotels 2-3 nights a weeks, ive been staying at alot of Quality Inn (do to company limits) this Quality Inn was by far the worst one yet. The breakfast was horrible, no selection at all except, waffles, frozen sausage biscuit, yogurt, bagel, muffins, and 3 cereals. No eggs or really hot items. The office chair was a wreck, very scarce on the towels with 1 wash cloth and 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels in bathroom, water wasnt that hot. Best feature was the bed which was comfortable and the AC worked very well.
