What guests think

At Drury Plaza Hotel St Louis Creve Coeur, travelers consistently praise the friendly, accommodating staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and the value of the free hot breakfast and evening Kickback with drinks, alongside a convenient location near hospitals and highways.

Recent exterior renovations and occasional maintenance problems (e.g., hot tub or pool closures, key-card and HVAC issues) caused some inconvenience and noise for a few guests. A minority noted dated room finishes, occasional housekeeping lapses, crowded breakfast times with lots of kids, and pet-dander sensitivities in this pet-friendly property. Guests also liked the covered parking garage and generally quiet rooms. Expect a friendly, good-value stay with strong perks, but check renovation status and room preferences.

Facilities

Pool, hot tub, and the covered parking garage are appreciated, but renovations have at times caused noise, mess, or a closed pool. There are intermittent issues like nonworking hot tub jets and warm elevators or hallways.

Literally one of the best hotels we've e er stayed at. The check in was easy and fast. The hot tub and pool are huge, shopping and restaurants are so close. Apple bees is attached to hotel even. High end feel, felt safe at all hours walking dog out to use bathroom. Breakfast is top notch.Food was fresh and so so so many options. Nothing ever looked empty, it was always fully stocked.

This property is wonderful, and my family and I have stayed here several times over the past few years. The only slight negative was that when I had brought my kids to the pool area, the timer on the hot tub didn't have a knob attached and therefore the jets couldn't be run. The pool was just fine otherwise, and the rooms, updated bathrooms, dining, and customer service were all top notch. All in all a 4.8 out of 5, and we will continue to be back.

The hotel was remodeling and there was major construction which started at 8am (that's what the sign said, but it was a bit earlier). The hotel wasn't up to it's usual cleanliness. When it was time to check out, the hotel housekeeping and maintenance staffs were using the luggage transporters, leaving none for the patrons. Wish they had let us know there was construction when we booked.

Many guests report very clean rooms and public spaces, though cleanliness slipped during construction. A few noted missed details (hair in showers, stained linens) and there is one report of bed bugs.

Rooms

Rooms are generally comfortable and often spacious, but some feel dated with noisy or unreliable HVAC, soft or flat pillows, and occasional mattress or layout complaints; several mention older TVs without streaming apps.

The property had very high rating but I was disappointed immediately in all areas. The staff was not very helpful, the finishes were very dated. The rooms were showing age and the amenities were also not current. The TVs did not allow for accessing apps such as Netflix or Prime. The walls in the room had dated, slightly peeling wallpaper, the ceilings were textured and the tiled surfaces were old. The garage is good to park vehicles but the entry card reader is rusted and nearly falling over from rust, and as you proceed through the property you will find similar age on all surfaces. The location is good but the Applebees attached just reinforces the datedness of the property. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are nice.

Photos of room and bathroom deceiving. Bathroom vanity in photo appeared long and spacious. Room small for a king bed and very big furniture. Very tight especially on one side of bed. Buffet breakfast just OK - didn't go back for second morning for buffet. Convenient location. Hotel is pretty dated. Appears they have tried to do some updates.

The room was nice and clean. It was one of the newly renovated rooms. My husband really liked the “dinner” offering. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices and the food tasted great. We were on the 8th floor. There was a loud noise which I think came from people going up to the roof on the metal steps? Also when the A/C came on, it was very noisy—sounded like a refrigerator starting up but five times louder. We will stay there again. The staff were friendly and very welcoming.

The hotel should not be rated outstanding like it shows on hotels.com. I think at one time it was probably very nice but those days have come and gone and it seems that it is still living off of what it used to be. All the finishes are clearly dated and it lends to disappointment immediately upon checking in. From the slightly peeling wallpaper in the rooms to the yellowing plastic on the ice machine or the heavily textured so fitted ceiling upon entering your room you will see this is a recurring theme. The tile is dated throughout the public facilities, the metal key card post to enter the garage is nearly falling over from rust, and it continues throughout. Don’t look for a smart HD tv to access any apps because you won’t find it here. The WiFi works if you have your own devices though so you just have to find ways to get around the hotels limitations. The location is great but the attached Applebees is as dates as the hotel. Everything is functional but just prepare to be disappointed if you came here based on ratings.

Well a great hotel experience went bad pretty quick. Around 10pm our toilet would go down. A call to the front desk resulted in “oh, well come down and get a plunger” 100% unacceptable. I hope the manager hears about this because I would like to know if that is standard procedure.

The Fire alarms went off twice in the middle of the night. We got there around 10, had to get to bed to get my infant up for surgery at 3 AM. The alarms went off at 11 and then around again. I understand these things happen, however when I said something about it to the front desk lady upon check out. She was very rude and said "yea we know", in a rude voice. Didn\'t apologize nothing.

We have often stayed for the last 22 years. Although I was eventually credited back the charge, I was quite dismayed to find that I was charged an additional night. When I called about the charge, the manager said that I had called and asked to have the room back. They said I had shown my ID to get a new room key and she also stated that I had left suitcases in the room which she had found when she did a room check. It took multiple phone calls and finally an email to Drury corporate before receiving the credit back. Although I had turned the keys in which was acknowledged by the desk clerk, I did not ask for a receipt. The manager stated I had not properly checked out and someone in my party had stayed. Since it was just myself and my husband and we had continued our trip to Kentucky, I knew no one in my party had stayed nor had I called to ask for the room that night. I had not shown the manager my ID for a new key nor had we left suitcases in the room. (We use soft travel overnight bags.) We had always been very satisfied with our time spent at this Drury location. Although corporate did credit my charge card, the whole experience of being accused of doing stuff that I hadn’t done was an unpleasant experience. I’m not sure we will ever be able to stay at that Drury location again. I did learn that I will always require a receipt when checking out of Drury.

Check-in staff was pleasant. Saturday morning breakfast gal was very friendly. The breakfast gal Sunday morning appeared irritated that so many people were waiting for breakfast to start. It’s inconvenient that breakfast didn’t start until 0700 as we had an event to be at by 7. But the breakfast had a lot of options, although the same hot meal option each day. Friday night there was an over powering marijuana smell in the lobby as well as seeping though the vent of the room. It’s not a pleasing smell and I had a child with me. Other than that, the room was clean, comfortable and we felt safe.
