What guests think

Across recent reviews, Comfort Inn Birch Run - Frankenmuth earns praise for friendly staff, generally clean, spacious rooms, convenient location near Frankenmuth and outlets, and solid value, but ongoing renovations and inconsistent maintenance affect comfort and amenities.

Renovation work brings dust, odors, cluttered hallways and reduced parking, and has at times closed or chilled the pool and hot tub. Guests often like the breakfast, yet others find it crowded or mediocre; room comfort varies with firm beds, ripped curtains, weak water pressure, and occasional drainage or temperature problems. Location near shops and highways is convenient, but noise from hallways and late-night activity can disrupt sleep. Expect a budget-friendly, convenient stay, tempered by active renovations and variable upkeep.

The room was great. The only major complaint I had was my daughter was getting out of the pool and slipped and cut her knee really bad on the ladder. It was missing a step and where the screw hole went was super sharp. We went to desk and asked for a bandaid cause her knee was bleeding and of course they didnt have a first aid kit. and didnt even ask if she was ok. When I went in the morning to ask if they had fixed the problem the lady didnt know anything about it.

Reviewed by male, 44 yrs old....Call me sentimental of having fond memories of hotel stays when I was a kid. Cause nothing is ever as good as it used to be, right? The smell of the pool, big inviting lobby, vending machines, self service laundry, and the a small arcade! Pin ball machine and game consoles all lit up in that dark room, as they made those magical sounds when you walked past. It was an overnight stop on very short notice for me. But this hotel had all of that. On top of being very clean and having a friendly staff. Simple luxuries that made it more enjoyable, that you don't really see anymore. I would recommend, and I will stay again. Kevin .

Tub was durty and i realky needed a bath. Phone was broken and front desk didnt know or care. What if we had an emergency? Our socks got dirty from carpet. It was christmas eve so we had hoped for a more clean stay. Beds were comfortable and staff were very friendly. If we ever return i hope there's not the same issues. Thank you to the staff who worked over christmas eve and christmas day!🎄💜

My fiancé and I traveled 3 hours away to stay and our first room had pubic hair all in the toilet along with the shower drains - went downstairs and the drink desk gave us a 2nd room for free and that had a jacuzzi which had hair all inside of it along with dirt. Went back downstairs and they didn’t do a single thing for us. No apologies nor a free upgrade with our money back. Don’t go here it’s terrible.

We had three rooms and in one of the rooms, some disgusting, crusty brown stuff was splashed all over the bowl of the sink. It was late and we were too tired to change rooms. The unconcerned desk clerk handed us a wad of dry paper towels and went back to socializing with the male employee(?) who was hanging over the counter. She never once said she was sorry about this. I am requesting a partial refund.

This property is currently being renovated while serving the public. I was put in a ADA room on the first floor in a yet to be finished portion of the property. I protested my first floor room, the desk clerk said you requested an ADA room; totally NOT true! She was argumentative. I had been up since 0400 and I frankly wasn't in the mood to deal with such an unprofessional and dismissive individual. I know what I booked! The breakfast offerings were adequate. The room was new so at least that was a plus but the television was not working (no signal popped up). I called the front desk. The phone just rang and rang. At this point I just did not care.

We arrived to renovations but that didn’t stop us. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had recently been renovated. It was clean, comfortable and has plenty of room for 3 people and all our luggage. We will definitely return again. While many friends stayed in Frankenmuth, we decided to stay in Birch Run. What a great idea. Meijer, right behind us. A dollar tree not even a block away. Close to the outlets and all the food choices (yes we want to Tony’s, twice!) we ventured into Frankenmuth, an easy 15 min or less drive from the hotel. It worked perfectly! Many thanks to Pam at the front desk, you’re wonderful!

She wasn’t helpful at all did not tell us where to go to get to the 3rd floor she was very rude when we told her our last names for check in. She seemed to hate her job. We had 4 rooms and 3 of them were dirty very poorly taken care of. Do not recommend and will not come back to this hotel.

The hotel is nice and convenient place to stay if you want to visit shopping mall and attractions of Frankenmooth, jut 10 minutes away. The only thing we didn't like was the breakfast. I can not even rate it since 1 star will be too much. The egs taste not natural, pancakes were salty and had some weird taste. Coffee was not good at all. When we arrived around 9 a.m. there was not much food left and the bread was not replenished during thise 30 minutes we had a breakfast there. Next morning we had a breakfast at another place.
