Not a bad place this is certainly better than the hotel next-door that is for sure. On the pictures, you see a beautiful pool, but it was closed when I got there I guess because it’s September, but I thought it would still be open in September so I was really bummed and there was no way to really sit on the rooftop. The check-in experience wasn’t great, but I want to emphasize that it’s not because of the people it was just that there was the longest line ever and only one person checking in, when a second one came in and went a little bit faster, but generally, it was very long waits. There’s a restaurant there I didn’t try it, but it was a little bit noisy, but then ended it about 10, there’s fantastic water actually in the lobby I don’t know what Vero or Vera (can’t remember which) is but that water is really really good and it’s complementary both sparkling and still. I saw they had a Jim, but I didn’t get to use it. Parking is $40 a day. I decided to do that just because I had a rental car and thought it’d be better to park in the hotel. The rooms are good but honestly, I was wondering why there wasn’t a thicker blanket. I know that seems petty, but there was a sheet and then technically there was another blanket, but it was pretty thin and I know again it’s Sept. so maybe they don’t need like a full on down comforter, but I was cold and had to keep getting up and changing the temperature and there was a huge difference with 2° like if it was 68° it was super hot

The elevators are sooo bad, they were very slow and not reliable ... Also were down and no signs to indicate that it was out of service... after waiting in parking for like 20 mins pressing the elevator and it's not coming... We had to climb up the incoming car ramp to get to the lobby .. it was so hot and we got all sweaty and misty ... We spoke to staff about it, they were nice and apologetic... Then it happened again few hours later !! No signs whatsoever! It is a shame as this hotel could have been amazing ... But no .. it went down to be average

Everything was just fine. With the hotel and staff itself. Very clean and nice room. The only complaint was. They rented out the rooftop pool for a private party. So it was off limits to us. We booked this hotel for the pool. We paid a bit more for a hotel with a pool. We could have saved some money and booked a hotel without a pool. If you advertise a pool. It should be open to all hotel guests. Unless there are maintenance issues.

Front Desk was a great group of people with good customer service. The location was great, the room was clean. My only issues were when parking to unload - it was very tight, and the elevators which on several occasions were excruciatingly slow.

Hotel was beautiful and smelt amazing in the lobby! Room was very clean and spacious.The garage was tight for parking and I wish the hours at the pool were open longer during the week. All in all, lovely hotel and would definitely stay again.

I am always happy with this hotel. This has to be one of the best hotels in Bethesda. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, everyone is nice, friendly and service is amazing. The pool on the roof and the view, is spectacular. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. They are so spacious and clean. Anytime I can get the good price on staying at this hotel, I do.

Our connecting room did not have towels in the one bathroom and the carpet had some tiny rubble from previous Guest stay. I also did not receive a statement upon checking out, so I have no idea what my final bill looks like? I had to call and email for this info, still waiting. Its been a week since we checked out from this hote.

Our stay at the The Bethesden was wonderful. The room was so spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable!! We stayed for three nights so we interacted with lots of staff. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. The television stations are limited and there were a few things wrong in the room but they were quick to try to rectify them all. The location is great! Walking dustance to everything! We will definitely stay there again.

The housekeeping and front desk are terrible. They didn’t have my reservation at check in. After I called to confirm mat times in andvance. They said they guaranteed the rate I had locked in at upon booking. Still thousands of dollars ion my credit card with no resolution! Manager never called back and no check in my card. Blood on bath towels, they don’t clean rooms unless you call down numerous times, no soap in whole hotel. They have nobody working that can or does anything to resolve issues and I’m a Hilton Honors member, imagine if your not!

Got a good deal last minute. Parking garages a bit cramped & inconvenient. Elevators move extremely slow. No luggage carts by garage areas. Worse of all- B L O O D and bodily fluids on every bed and pillow. Took pictures and video. Was assigned second room. Even bloodier pillows. Asked for a refund & left. Manager was understanding & accommodating. But what a repulsive, unsanitary & traumatic experience. Would pick any motel off the interstate, guaranteed still more sanitary conditions.

It’s nice enough, modern etc. Rooms aren’t that quiet. Doors slamming frequently. Parking is terrible. $40 and the garage was clearly designed by someone who’s never driven a car. I’ve stayed here many times. It’s a good bargain. Except the parking. Fu@k that. For $40 they should wash and wax it too.

From check in to our seamless check out, our stay was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and very neat. The hotel provided hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. The fragrance of the products was so light, not too strong or harsh like some some hotels. The only suggestion I would make is that an iron be provided instead of a steamer. We were in a bit of a rush to get ready for our event and the steamer took longer to use. Also, be prepared for $40 parking. Otherwise, our 14th floor room with corner window was very lovely!

The Bethesdan is a serviceable option if you need to be in the area. The staff were kind and helpful for the most part. The lodging itself is a bit clunky. The bed doesn’t come with a fitted sheet so you are laying on an exposed mattress pad. The parking fee is a bit high but we knew that coming in so we paid it. It is a bit pricey for the experience but if you need to be close to NIH the location is worth it. You are a miniature or two from the campus.

GREAT location, friendly & helpful staff, nice restaurant/bar option onsite. Only issue — Soundproofing: room doors slam shut very loudly in halls, and can clearly hear other guests’ talking, TVs, footsteps through walls and ceiling.

Room furnishings were lovely, bed was comfortable, climate control worked well, love the floor to ceiling windows but the blackout curtains were also great. Balcony could have used furniture though. And I wish there had been an iron and not a steamer.

Stayed here for 5 nights and it was great! Had a one bedroom suite so the bedroom wasn’t open to the hallway which helped to avoid hearing any foot traffic. I was able to hear the elevator ding whenever the AC was off but it wasn’t super loud. The gym was very nice which was kind of surprise. We used the free bus around the corner the most. There is a free shuttle advertised by the hotel but it was only 7am-3pm Monday-Friday to the metro but it didn’t make sense to take it. Lots of places to eat near by under a half mile!

My review begins with five stars because this is a pleasant place to stay. I remove one star for the exorbitant price of parking, which is out of line with other parking facilities in Bethesda, and I moved to another one after the first expensive night here. I remove another star for the exorbitantly priced breakfast buffet and Internet charges. Most places I stay offer free breakfast and Internet. Those breakfasts are, admittedly, not as comprehensive as this one, but other facilities where I've stayed that had buffets like The Bethesdan would charge $15-16. This one was a ridiculous $27, so we had breakfast elsewhere for the days we stayed here. The free Internet was deadly slow, and it took forever for me to move some of my work files from my PC to my cloud facility. The paid Internet upgrade was yet another "nickel and dime" pricing tactic by The Bethesdan.

I recently stayed at The Bethesdan Hotel. The location is convenient and the property is nice, but I had problems with billing. At checkout, I asked for a receipt and was told it would be emailed to me, but I never received it. When I finally got a copy, it showed a extra charge for bottled water and tax, even though I never touched the water in the room. The charges were later reversed, but it should not have happened in the first place. The final receipt also did not clearly include my full bill, which makes the process confusing. Guests should not have to chase down receipts or worry about false charges. I hope the hotel improves transparency and accuracy in their billing.

I stayed here 6 nights while doing research at NIH. The location is great and the room was spacious and clean. Service was the problem. I had no shampoo for 3 days and after calling daily to ask that it be refilled, I got a bit testy on the phone with the front desk only to be told “not my job.” There is a coffee bar in the lobby but it goes unmanned and asking front desk and wait staff proved fruitless. Not sure I would stay again.

Rooms poorly maintained: We have been to this hotel many times with good results. This time we had a double bed room. Most of the products were completely depleted. Only a a few tissues left in the tissue box, the shampoo and conditioner, when nearly empty, only two bath towels,, no garbage pail liners. I asked for one king size pillow because I have a back problem. I was told it would be delivered and despite several calls never received it. I’m a Hilton honors member but the incompetentat the front desk wouldn’t give me the Hilton honors code, or water that I’ve gotten before and other properties because my husband is on the account, but I made the reservation. This, even though he was there with me. Someone needs to tell the manager this. I asked to speak to the manager, but never heard back from him or her.

This is located in downtown area. Convenient walking distance to many good restaurants. However, if you are driving just be aware parking is expensive even if you are parking in the hotel parking lot. Other than that, the hotel is beautifully kept, comfortable to stay.

Lovely updated property with excellent breakfast eggs to order .. the rooms were Fresh well lit and a wonderful view of the city . We have strayed here the second time in a year . Parking is nearby and wonderful restaurants nearby .

So, one of members in the group had hair in her food. When she i formed the staff member, she took the hair and examined it and said it is not, tossed it to the ground and walked away. We had a full-size vehicle that we could park in the area provided because of cars being on that level. Parking is $40 a day. We went to sit at the wooden high top tables and was informed we could not. Less than 5 minutes later, a bigger group arrived and was permitted to hang out there. I will stop there.

We had a very nice stay. Everything was spotless, aside from some marks on the upholstered bench by the door. The rooms are spacious and well designed--a place for everything! Just two minor complaints, breakfast buffet was simply OK for the additional price. There were no plant-based options. It also seemed a bit scrimpy to not offer no-charge coffee for at least a couple of hours in the lobby area.

I really enjoyed my stay at the property. My one complaint would be the breakfast. Not because it cost $25 minimum, but because the scrambled eggs were absolutely horrible. The worst eggs I’ve ever had. They offered eggs of my choice, but I did not have the time for that. The bacon was mushy and the coffee was weak. The server however, was very nice

Great staff. Comfortable rooms. Good location. Cheaper parking in public lot at the end of the block. Dining options within walking distance are great. Buffet breakfast was underwhelming for the price. We paid for breakfast through Expedia so it brought the price down to $19 for 2 people. Original price is $27pp.
