Hotel Was beautiful and very nice historic area. Was disappointed the lounge was not open felt site should have indicated limited hours as I chose this hotel believing I would be able to have light dinner in house without leaving g hotel since my husband is handicapped. Fortunately things were I walking distance but town is not wheelchair friendly due to hills

Nice location in downtown Staunton. Walking distance to everything and staff we more than willing to help with all of our questions. And the parking lot was attached to the hotel so made for a very nice stay!

We love this hotel. We've stayed here many times on our trip from New York State to South Carolina and back. It is a pleasure to be here. We even brought our dog with us on many trips. The only thing that is needed that doesn't have to do with the hotel is an EV Charging station in the Parking Garage. Staunton is a lovely town and the hotel is conveniently located in the center. The breakfast has an extensive buffet served in a beautiful sunlit dining room. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We will be back!

Really pleasant atmosphere. Nice and quiet. Amazing location. Loved the historic vibe. Not fancy but clean, comfortable and well appointed. Would definitely stay again. Only bummer was the indoor pool was quite cold and the hot tub was closed.

Really pretty common areas in the hotel, very friendly helpful staff, super clean room. They accommodated me with my pet, even gave me a treat for him to enjoy. Location is really convenient to the cute downtown area and a number of restaurants. I really enjoyed my staf.

Bathroom could have been cleaned better. Nothing worse than finding someone else's short hairs on the shower wall. Location was great. Hotel was charming. Location was excellent. The staff were great. Breakfast buffet wasn't great for $15.00 each. Four stars overall.

A once grand hotel but not kept up. Cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms was OK, bed linen had seen better days. Staff polite but somewhat indifferent. Did not avail ourselves of the breakfast at the restaurant, so can't comment on that. Within easy walking distance to downtown Staunton.

Very pretty hotel in the lobby and common areas... room was ok.. visible strains on sheets and carpets, but otherwise appeared clean. No bathroom vents so the rooms get musty and damp feeling after a shower. Front desk guy at check in was not the friendliest and even though we checked in at 1130pm and were checking out the next morning he charged me for 2 nights of parking. I get we checked in right before midnight but we weren't going to be in the lot for even 12 hours, so i thought this was ridiculous. The price was good for the stay otherwise and the location is really nice and it's right off the main street in town.

Quaint yet updated lobby etc. Buffet breakfast was excellent and front desk service was beyond helpful. Room was clean and big enough. Only downside was housecleaning service. It’s different than most:. You must request service and then they often don’t make beds and missed us altogether one day.

Didn't like the small toilet--seemed like a 3/4 size--had to REALLY squat down! The TV was the smallest I've seen in a hotel for a long time. Lovely building, well located for walking to downtown

Beautiful hotel right in the heart of downtown Staunton. We had a great view from the 5th floor. You can walk to many fine restaurants. A few comments about the bedding: 1) the mattress was a bit firm for our taste 2) the sheets were very rough (not "premium bedding") 3) the bed pillows were like sleeping on bricks. Way too firm for our liking. Aside from the bedding, the hotel was beautiful and we will stay again (we'll bring our own pillows). The attached parking garage was convenient, but note that many of the lights were burned out. It was very dark at night, making us feel nervous. But we had no problems.

I only stayed for one night, but it was wonderful. The door was thin even though the walls were thick, so it was weird being able to hear people through the door as they walked by. The space was interesting, in a cute historical building kind of way. The hotel was in walking distance of all the major areas of interest and restaurants in the downtown area. I found the parking to be a bit confusing, and I know it was the low/off season, but I didn't feel like the hotel was staffed well for it's size. But overall, the bed was super comfy. The room was cute, and I would stay again.

The clerk seemed in a rush, friendly yet rushed us through. She offered wrong information about local restaurant. As a senior with bad knees, the room was a challenge. Bed was high, had to use a stool to direct the shower head and reach towels. The remote must have needed new batteries as it was difficult to change stations

No help at the door with baggage and we were struggling a lot in front of the staff with no offer to assist. The rooms smelled like cheap cleaner. The coffee machine leaked water everywhere. There was no channel guide and no bottled water in the rooms.

Room was small but fine for the price, and it was just an overnight. Biggest complaint was the service in the bar/lounge. We had just driven 4 hours, we wanted a drink and a bite to eat. Bartender acknowledged and then completely ignored us, while attending to people who came in after us from a private party that was concluding its festivities. We got disgusted and left. Fortunately there is a restaurant within walking distance that had great food and service. Plenty of choices in the area, stay somewhere else.this hotel obviously didn’t need our business.

Perfect 3 night stay with lifelong friend, hubby and our beagle. Hotel was fabulous and in a perfect location. Staff were so kind, friendly and helpful, especially Tabitha, Emily and Wesley. The food in the bar was very good as was their choice of wines. Salmon patty, wings and wedge salad were delicious. The smashburger looked to die for but we were not that terribly hungry. Oh and may I mention the complimentary coffee in the lounge…..I travel often and most often the coffee is nothing to write home about. Hotel 24 South has awesome coffee! Parking is a breeze as is shopping, walking and dining around Staunton’s lovely vibrant downtown. Definitely will be coming back.

Nice downtown property-- I've stayed before. Bar and restaurant closed except for Thursday thru Sunday doesn't make sense-- at least keep the bar/lounge open with some snacks available. I may choose to stay elsewhere next time because of this. Sad, because I like a classic downtown hotel.

This is a beautifully maintained 1920’s property in an excellent location in an extremely walkable town. My only Complaint is that restaurant service is not available every Evening although many good restaurants are within walking distance. Also, there is no room service.

The staff was helpful and courteous and cleaning seemed at least on par. It's an older building, which gives it some charm, but it is not updated in many ways. The breakfast buffet was not free, but was well done with quality and variety and a good value, with staff serving beverages, etc.

Very convenient location for activity we did in the area (American Shakespeare Center). Got a great cocktail at the bar after the show. Clean and comfortable room, once we turned up the heat. Upon arrival the temperature in the room was 50 degrees. Friendly, helpful staff. The food kiosk didn't have many options for late night snacking, so maybe stop at the nearby grocery store or gas station to get some snacks before checking in. I would stay here again and recommend this property for those wanting to be in the downtown area.
