Nice older motel. Recent room renovations. Friendly owner/manager. Breakfast not stellar but adequate. Pool area clean. Little attached bar/grill has good fries (only thing we tried) but only bottled beer/beverages. Very clean rooms.

No elevator. Poor breakfast. Not handicapp acceptable. Check in people not friendly. Check out were. My sister had to have handicapped room for daughter wasn't. Water on floor in bathroom. Leaked. Water on carpet. Room moister. Everything felt damp. We thought we had qween beds and they were double. Had variety of tv station Small tv. Rain everyday was outdoor pool. Did not get to try pool.would not stay there again. Hard to tranfer luggage without elevator

My husband and I love coming to stay here, and do so a few times a winter. The Spirits bar has good food and there is a band or DJ every Friday and Saturday night. Even the locals love hanging out here!!

I really wanted to like the room, but it had a smell, the towels and sheets were stained and had residual hair from previous guests. Flies, beetles and ants were discovered around the room, on the walls, flooring and windows.

The carpet was so filthy it turned your feet black in a matter of minutes. The toilet would barely flush. The male clerk that checked us in around five or six o’clock was extremely slow. There were two people ahead of us in line and it took almost an hour to get checked in. He also was very inappropriate with comments he made. The morning lady did a great job.

We found several cockroaches crawling in our room. The room instantly smelled like smoke as soon as we stepped in. The bathroom was dirty, and tv did not work. One of the beds was wobbly and squeaky. Wish listing would’ve described that breakfast was only cereal and bread. Staff however was very friendly and quickly checked us in and out.

Bathroom area had a lot of mold on the ceiling. And the room stunk bad. We were going to wait it out till morning because only staying 1 night but we just couldn't do it. They did give us another room. The smell wasn't as bad and much cleaner.

The rooms were gross, damp, carpet was damp, chair in room is ready for the garbage, filthy! Peeling paint all over on the ceiling in our room. I’ve machines either unplugged and other empty. Not going back that’s for sure!

Property was empty but I was given a room on the loudest side right next to the very noisy road, next door to housekeeping with loud carts rolling by constantly. No sheers so if curtains are open, zero privacy, if Curtains closed, gloomy darkness. Mattress like a rock. Asked for 1 hour late checkout due to lack of sleep and long drive ahead. Told absolutely not. Walked out to deserted parking lot again. Not a soul in sight. Check in area smells like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. Weird rattling noise in room all night. Do not stay here.

I probably should’ve realized for the price of that hotel versus the others in the area that it was probably not going to be new. There really hasn’t been any work under the property. I’m guessing and since the hotel was built. The shower was old tile kind of dirty, the windows were aluminum and very cold, it was just outdated and old, but we weren’t in the room very long and we knew that, so we conceited an updated newer hotel room for price. I would, however never stay in this hotel again, and I would probably do a lot more investigative work on any days in hotels we might consider in the future.

This place is pretty rough. The wifi doesn't work, the beds are uncomfortable and small, there was a hole in the wall in our room, the toilet broke multiple times during our short stay, the "breakfast" is literally just cereal, yogurt, bagels, and granola bars. The woman who put out the breakfast is extremely rude, walking into peoples' way and then getting visibly irritated when people get their food. The front desk woman was also very animated and irritable. I am usually pretty forgiving of one bad day, but after a few days of the bad attitude and eye-rolling and scoffing at people who have paid to stay at your hotel, it is less forgivable. The cleaners are pleasant and considerate, and I don't have any issue with them. But the rooms themselves are definitely not in good shape. Overall a pretty bad experience at this location, unfortunately.

TV was not hooked up. The free Wi-fi signal was to weak to use, that included the tv. Bathroom was so small that you had to enter the bathroom and shut the door to get to the toilet paper. When using the shower the ceiling tile above the shower head leaked water.

Had an issue when we checked into room. Noticed rug was damp by bathroom door. Mentioned it to housekeeping staff and to a maintenance worker who quickly contacted office and moved us to another room. Turned out that they had shampooed the rugs the day before and they were still damp. Their response could not have been quicker and a lady (whom I believe was the manager) came out to front desk to apologize for the inconvenience. Very impressed with resolution.

I found the surroundings rather unique.The hotel is nestled in a ravine So it felt secluded even though it was right along route twenty (Dodge avenue). I appreciated that we had a free breakfast, even though it was just a cold breakfast, I was disappointed because I was looking forward to some waffles. Front desk was very pleasant & accommodating. The only aggravation that we had was 2 of the housekeeping staff having a very loud, animated conversation in front of our room in the morning which woke us up.

I love the setting on the side of a limestone bluff. The hotel is also located halfway between downtown Dubuque and the newer sections of town and just off Grandview, one of the city’s most beautiful streets. Win win!

Very nice affordable hotel next to the hospital and very close to downtown. Only issue there’s a little traffic noise from Highway 20. But everything was in wonderful working order and the staff was very friendly and excellent.

Building is a work in progress. Very nice bedding and towels. Beds extremely firm but did get a good night's sleep. However, the tub had bulging tile, a leaky faucet and a drain plug that had no lifter, resulting in 3-4 inches of water in the tub when I got up. It drained fine when I removed the plug and plenty of hot water when I took a shower, though. The breakfast was cold except for toastable bread items, but they had a good variety and even peeled perfectly hard boiled eggs, safely displayed in a bowl on ice, so maybe a bit above average for "continental", which is all they claimed to have. Met the owner on checkout. Sounds like they have already upgraded the tubs in some rooms and might well move the room we used up the list with the report of bad tile and faucet. Would stay again.

It was ok. There were a large number of cyclists staying at the same time as us. Their motorcycles were loud and annoying. The breakfast was a light breakfast offer. No eggs or sausage/ bacon.
