Great room friendly staff. Beautiful lobby bar.

One of my best stays overall. Wonderful staff. They were very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were clean. Good quality coffee. (And for those who care) the water pressure here is superb! Gym was clean and well equipped. I didn't use board rooms, but I saw nice board rooms. But above all, I was really impressed by their staff and how helpful, professional and accommodating they were.

Great! We will return! Happy hour was nice. Unfortunately parking at hotel cost is on the high side.

Super disappointed in Darcy. They lost valet parking as a service. DO no say limited valet parking however they had no parking and as a result we missed a concert because the neighborhood does not have street parking and the closest parking lot is 2 miles away and it was full.

Great hotel great price. We wanted to stay near everything within a budget. Don’t expect the rooms or bathroom to be very big. But if you’re not there to stay in the room then you’ll be fine like we were. We even went with our baby and a play pen fit in between the two beds. Fridge was big enough for us to store baby things. Closet was spacious enough. They even brought us up our own microwave when we asked if there was one we could use in the lobby just to warm up baby food. Beautiful lobby, restaurant and the employees were always very kind, welcoming, social, and helpful. As far as what’s around, the White House is about a 20 minute walk. From there the Smithsonian area is another 25 minutes. It was really nice out so we enjoyed the walk. If you don’t want to walk, driving is about 10-15 minutes. Many restaurants, stores, nearby. Although valet was great, our only complaint is parking. $60 per night for guests is pricey. Not saying it has to be free, but it can definitely be a bit cheaper. If valet is cheaper next time, we definitely will be staying again. If not, we will probably find another hotel with cheaper parking.

The front desk and doorman staff was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, great gym and will be back for sure! 10/10 cannot say enough. We extended for 2 more days b/c of their flash sale

Artisan Hotel-Every night is happy hour (5-5:30) with signature cocktails provided as part of your $35 a day fee (on top of your Expedia total.) Parking is not available near this location, and valet parking is $60. Although the hotel and staff were EVERYTHING I hoped for, I wish either of these facts would have been disclosed in the Expedia descriptors. It was disclosed at check in.

Great! Room was clean and staff was friendly!

1/ The bathroom was dirty with toothpaste behind the mirror, the bed was not made right (the sheets were not put in the right direction making the mattress bare where my feet were.). 2/ the cleaner knocked super loudly at every door at 8am and opened our door, turned the light on and was going to start cleaning despite we were sleeping. We had to kick them out! 3/ the AC makes the whole hotel super cold, more than any other place innDC. If you like being in a fridge you will love it.

Customer service is very good however the carpeting in the bedroom was dirty and the bathroom floor needed to be mopped.

Clean and Beautiful property

Hotel was central - only 15 minute walk to the White House. Staff were very pleasant. However, I thought that this was a 4 star hotel but would only rate it as a 3-3.5 star. The room was just ok, the carpet could do with a clean and the net curtains were ripped. The bathroom was extremely small - probably the smallest I’ve experienced in a hotel. The corridors were dark and gloomy - even the lift doors were painted black.

While sitting in the lobby and having conversations with family and friends. I had just left from ordering drinks at the bar when 2 rats crawled from under a table towards the bar. I wanted to scream and complain but what was the purpose. I was checking out in less than 8 hours. I was not pleased with the hotel itself, the room had a filthy floor, and the curtains had stains of something all over them. I'm glad I always travel with the necessary cleaning supplies. I will not be back. Customer service was great from everyone, the bartender was professional and friendly and the doorman was on the job.

The property was very nice. Stayed in King suite. Cons: Stains on linen, sofa had finger sized hole in it and was in need on cleaning. Hopefully this is not typical but this was my experience.

Room dirty and couch had stains

Our King 1 bedroom suite was quite spacious. We enjoyed the gift of fruit and macarons on arrival. The bathroom was enormous and had separate bath and shower. We all took baths in the huge soaking tubs! The front door staff was particularly gracious. Only hiccup was getting the couch made into a bed for sleeping. It took 4 hours and 2 requests. We would love to stay again if we see a “deal” in the future. Regular prices are out of our range

Was a great location!! There was an issue with the AC in our room but they were very quick to fix it!! Would highly recommend. The staff was great and very helpful

I loved my stay at The Darcy. Andrew at checkin was just awesome! Hotel was clean and comfortable, and it’s close to so much, as long as you don’t a bit of walking, and the staff really do a good job servicing the rooms. The king room I was in did not have much of a view and the rooms are small, but it felt cozy. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up each morning. I’ll be back, I hope!

The TV did not work during our stay. The shower did not drain properly while in use, and the air filter was noticeably dirty

The hotel is if anything is just average, does not look anything like the pictures. The rooms are small and cramped, internet is really bad, unreasonably expensive.

The front desk staff is great - tbey went out if tbeir way to be helpful and accommodating. The roo. Is a bit "dated" but very clean, and the matfress waz really comfoftable. The only complaint is that the wifi kept going out so we had keep signing in. The staff did try to help, but the wifi continued to be problematic. Because it wasnt solved, they removed the daily amenity fee from our bill, which we really appreciated.

The rooms are a bit small but loved the fact that they had ample amount of towels - I’m usually calling front desk for more. Bar and lobby area nice

Good location and friendly staff. Need new bath fixtures and matching light bulbs. Lower rooms next to HVAC are noisy

Nice rooms, very helpful staff. Had an issue with miscommunication and an erroneous charge with the front desk, but it was handled to satisfaction within a couple days by management. Great location, close to everything and would stay here again in D.C.

From pulling up in our car to walking into the Darcy, we were treated extremely well. The dooman, Solomon, was friendly and courteous. The young woman at the desk, Ellen, was pleasant and professional. The hotel was beautiful and inviting. It was also very quiet which I truly appreciated at night while sleeping.

The Darcy is my absolute favorite hotel in DC. The staff is impeccable and their service is unmatched. They are warm, friendly, welcoming, and always go the extra mile to make your stay exceptional. Andrew is fabulous and always has the best recommendations for food and other special things in the area. Kayla is extraordinarily helpful and was able to give me a super late checkout so I could take my work call from my room. Teo was fabulous at check-in. Frew and his team are the best doormen who greet you with a smile and friendly hello and always, always open the door for you when you enter the hotel. The housekeeping staff are incredible and take immense care in making the rooms perfectly spotless. The rooms are well designed and incredibly comfy. Such great sleep and they’re incredibly quiet! The restaurant and bar staff are friendly, efficient, and so lovely. The food and drinks are top notch!!! The area is the best and within walking street of everything you need on P Street and close to all the best attractions. I can’t wait until my next stay!

I lived in DC for 15 years and have stayed in several hotels while visiting for work since. This is by far my favorite hotel. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the complimentary cocktail is a nice touch, and the location is perfect to reach almost any DC neighborhood in a reasonable amount of time.

I am giving this otherwise fine property a low rating in protest. They charge an amenity fee of $35 a night extra that, for me, is a classic bait and switch. The fact that this amount will be paid at the hotel on top of the advertised rate is disguised in smallprint during checkout. You are likely to miss it. You probably wont even notice since it will come off your deposit. I happened to look at a card they gave me at check-in which had the charge indicated as the cost of some pretty lame services such as internet and free bottles of water, stuff that almost all hotels now provide for free. My fury stems from the fact that this disguised fee prevents a fair comparison across hotels when booking on travel sites. It is very possible that I might not have chosen The Darcy if they had included this fee transparently in their advertised rate. For that reason, I consider the practice totally dishonest and a blot on the reputation of what is otherwise a clean, classy, and very well located establishment.

Hotel was nice but we waited 30 minutes to get our car when we were leaving from the valet.

Front desk staff at time of check-in claimed I'd owe amenity fee on check-out. She did not bother to read my receipt from hotels.com to notice that I had already paid a 'resort fee'. I did not know that resort fee was same as amenity fee and did not like the potential fact of an additional 'hidden fee' at time of check-out. Best if you train your staff to view receipts before making claims of owing more $. It created extra stress upon check-in and did not make a good 1st impression. The room was very dimly lit for my taste with dark walls and furniture that didn't help brighten the room. Also the room had mediocre, a bit shabby furnishings and shower floor did not look clean. Scent of shower products was nothing special compared to less expensive hotels. Mediocre experience all around. Next time I'm in DC, I will choose a different hotel.

We did not even check-in as staff was rude and unprofessional. He interrupted our conversation to assist others while on the phone with me.

Front desk team was amazing. Special shout out to Nakiah, Karima, Aziz, Safae, & the ladies that checked me out. However the housekeeping staff unfortunately tainted my stay. I had a great check-in but the room(713) was so dirty; hair on the bed, stains all over the couch, crumbs on the floor, all the coffee mugs were dirty but after traveling for 6 hours all we wanted to do is sleep, so requesting extra sheets was sufficient enough at the moment. The housekeeper arrived & was visibly upset that she had to bring the sheets to me, she tells me “my housekeeper already put extra sheets in the room if you look you’d see that” I was so taken back by this, but not enough for me to complain as we were exhausted. 20 mins later I get a call from the front desk letting me know that this same housekeeper reported to them that we were smoking in the room. This was a blatant lie! I was so upset to the point that I requested for management to come inspect the room and see that this is simply not true & furthermore see why someone at their place of work would lie like this to potentially get a guest kicked out of the hotel. All because I asked for extra sheets? Wow! On this call I let Nakiah know the room issues & her recovery was amazing & fast. I was so taken back by this lie from housekeeping that I didn’t want my room serviced at all during my stay. Also on my checkout day, I was given a 1PM but by 12:25 as I’m in the shower someone knocks on the door mentioning I have to checkout.

Fantastic room for a good price. Staff is both professional and friendly. Location on the circle does have alot of folks honking horns

Great hotel 15 minutes walk to the White House.

Great location near 14th st restaurants and stores, embassies, and not too, too far from monuments. I would stay here over hotels closer to monuments and downtown DC because I think it’s better to have proximity to bars and restaurants at night

The staff was friendly, professional, and welcoming to everybody (and their pets)! The beds and linens were so comfy. The room was quiet and cozy. The location was great for us. Requests for an extra blanket and a couple other little things were quickly and easily accommodated. We like to walk and there were lots of restaurants and bus stops nearby. There were always Lime bikes and scooters around, too. Earth Fare is a three minute walk and Dupont Circle is also an easy walk. I'd happily stay here again!

Excellent hotel. We took Ubers to the Mall area and it was $12 a ride. Only a 15 minute walk to the Dupont Circle area with lots of restaurants. 10 minutes the other way to other excellent dining options

The Darcy is great location in DuPont circle to go see all the sights but also close to hub of restaurants , stores and bars. We’ve been there a few times now. Spacious bar and restaurant and the staff are always great ! Lots of small things add up , water on arrival , packs for the kids to fill in etc etc. Very reasonably priced and walking distance to the whitehouse. We’d for sure go again.

This is the first time I've stayed at The Darcy Hotel. The hotel was situated in the heart of DuPont Circle where there are lots of dining options and a 5-minute walk to the Metro subway. It is a boutique hotel, not affiliated with any chain hotels which is awesome. We arrived a lot earlier than the usual check-in time and were able to get a room.

Too many fees. Charges you for 24hr vallet even if you don’t use it starts for day of check in. You pay for all amenities and you don’t really use them. Drinks at bar are great but food in restaurant is not as great as surrounding places

The Staff were most hospitable and accommodating. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Room service was fast and convenient. From the Hotelier to bell hop to the front desk to the bartender to the waiting staff and most importantly the maid service, everyone provided excellent service. Would highly recommend the Darcy for your stay in D.C.

I feel bad giving 3 stars because every staff member was so kind. There were a few significant problems which I wish I knew before I booked. 1- the bathroom is the smallest room I have ever seen in my life! You literally can sit on the potty- wash your hands in sink and your feet in the shower all at the same time. 2- room service closes at 10 pm… this is very difficult since most of DC shuts down restaurants around the same time. We were there for a family event and were out every night until 10 so we either ate nothing for dinner or chips from front desk! The breakfast was delicious but was never totally correct (one day missing silverware so by the time we got utensils our food was cold). Like I said staff was kind and apologetic for issues but I would not stay again.

Room was clean and functional, although bathroom was quite narrow. Some staff were superb (nia and the doorman in particular) while others (particularly in the restaurant) could have been more attentive. We had breakfast at the hotel two mornings, and prices were high. Don't stay around for the happy hour. Also Expedia guests should know that there is an amenities charge of $40/night that is added separately. Walking distance to DuPont Circle for the metro and plenty of reataurants.

We ate at the restaurant Friday night (26th) and our waiter was so rude , it almost made us get up and just leave. We couldn’t finish our sentences and he was all around very rude. Then he was serving the cocktails for cocktail hour where he was rude again. The bartender we hand though earlier was great , I believe he was the only one behind the bar but he was great. Front desk was also great but the waiter we had was horrible.
