Older building that's been nicely updated. Relatively short walk to the capital building. Pretty far walk to the National mall. Valet was a nice touch but at a cost of $50 per night. Fyi, most street parking is free on the weekend. Some nice eateries within walking distance as well. Customer service was very good. Included breakfast was sub par.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is incredible. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. We loved Mezeh. To get around, we used the property bicycles (free and first come first served) to get to the museums and monuments. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a room with a kitchenette and dining room. The beds are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good enough to get us through the afternoon. I appreciated the fried eggs as opposed to hotel scrambled eggs. There was always coffee and tea available. Staff was friendly. 2 issues: The property is actually 2 buildings, and our room was in the second bldg (which was okay bc breakfast was in our bldg). The washer and dryer was coins only and the front desk could not give me change. So I had to do laundry at 11pm in the main bldg because those machines accepted credit card. That was inconvenient to haul the laundry to and from the other bldg outside late at night. Also, The tub in our room was painted to cover rusty spots. As we showered, the paint was falling off. The toilet seemed to lack flushing power. Each time the toilet was used I was afraid it would overflow. For these reasons, I took 1 star off. Overall, splendid stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel. I would definitely stay here again with my family.

Stuff is great! Attentive service. Room spacious but very weird smell comes in it. Elevator needs upgrading urgently takes forever and not good looking at all. Booked as convenient location to our business training..v we y good location walkable to a restaurant street.nice surpise: comes w loccitaine shampoos in the room, plus has a kitchrnete & hot tea coffee at lobby anytime.

Amazing location just two blocks off the mall. Also a short walk to city bikes and metro. $50/ night for parking so don't bring a car if you can get along without it. The valet service is super fast though, and unlike a garage you can use it multiple times for the same $50. Breakfast was ordinary but plenty of food.

The hotel is in a quiet residential area, a few blocks from the US Capitol. It attracts a lot of groups but except at breakfast, feels quiet calm. it has a nice sitting area off the lobby with coffee and tea 24 hours and free breakfasts. the only improvement I could suggest is that the people who work in the breakfast room seem unmotivated to clear tables or replenish the breakfast items--even when asked. All in all, a good value in a great area!

Great hotel in a perfect location for exploring the sites of Washington DC. Staff are excellent and breakfast is a great way to start each day. Fresh fruit & yoghurt plus the usual cereals, breads and hot stuff. Free hotel bikes were an added bonus and a great way to explore the city.

The hotel is overpriced, overrated, outdated. There was no working door in the bathroom. Water in the bathroom sink was not draining well, and the facet was not properly fixed. The blanket had a hole on it. The coffee machine was not working. Breakfast - a very poor selection and the breakfast room crowded. We ended up having breakfast in the nearby cafe. The only positive side of our stay was the location of the hotel, and the valet parking provided. I will not recommend this hotel, and will not stay there again.

They had an awful amount of mosiquitos is the lobby. Some in my room as well. My tub had black stains and didn’t seem clean. My 4 year old granddaughter refuse to take a shower in it due to the black stains. She said it’s yucky. They need to remodel, the building is old. Walls are in poor condition in the hall ways. Doors are also in bad shape

We have visited this hotel in the past and stayed in a nice room. This room however was pretty bad.. no trash bags in cans. Shower had lots of hair. There was a giant cord coming from light fixture rigged to the wall. Our room key didn’t work, maintenance had to let us in. Just overall, changed my opinion on this hotel.

The location was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and staff very friendly. My only critiques were that it seemed my room could have been cleaned better, I had no ‘do not disturb’ sign, and the sheets were rough. But overall I would certainly stay here again.

Nov 19th 2024 6 night Booking. My wife and I Checked in and checked out within two hours of being in the room. Hotel was rated 5 stars per Expedia. We experienced a one-star hotel. Unclean tub, sink faucet was falling apart and the toilet did not flush properly, carpet was filthy, stain in center of comforter.It was clear after looking around the room, that a makeover was attempted but failed. We voiced our dissatisfaction and absolute fear of staying there to a Expedia representative and received an offer for 100.00 credit but could not cancel or receive a full refund for the hotel portion of our package. we were told we had to follow hotel policy. We had missed the cancellation deadline which was Nov 18th. Our opinion, Expeida clearly had a misrepresentation of this hotel on there site to choose from and was unwilling to satisfy a customer after learning of our disastrous experience. I left my conversation with Expedia rep and supposably the manager with a feeling of been scammed.

Great location only two blocks from the Capitol, but the rooms were clearly pretty old with the doors swollen from moisture, the title in the bathroom loose, the shower curtain rod and towel hooks half broken. The beds were comfortable and the tech worked as expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was par for a free hotel breakfast.

A nice roomie and relaxing one bedroom suite. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dining/living area contained a microwave, a mini fridge, a sink and a Keurig coffee machine. The hotel is located in a residential area with views of the neighborhood. You are given vouchers for breakfast at two breakfast cafés about 100 yards away from the hotel. The only small downside was that all the doors were warped and did not completely close properly, including the bathroom door. We would definitely return to this hotel.

The staff were amazing. The hotel is dated but they are trying hard to do what they can. During my stay, AC broke, the room smelled damp likely due to shower not draining properly. And burners stopped working on stove. But maintance quily came and fixed it.

We booked two rooms. One was ready at check in. The other wasn’t ready until an hour after check in time. Each time I went to ask they would say “20 more minutes, housekeeping is working in it” and I would set a timer and go back and it would still not be ready. In the end the second room was 2 doors down from the first room and we had actually witnessed housekeeping finish with the room just as we checked into the first room. Baffling. The second issue I have with this hotel is the doors. Every time anyone let their room door close it was like a cannon being fired in the hallway. These were the loudest doors I have ever heard in any hotel in my life. Housekeeping seemed to have perfected a way to make them close with an even louder explosion. And they seemed to roam the halls opening and closing doors at random and making sure no one slept late or took an afternoon nap. Overall it could be a nice hotel if they’d fix the doors.

I enjoyed the location of the hotel and the room itself. I do have two complaints both dealt with noise. The elevator could be heard all night long as it stopped on the floor. I easily heard it in my room. The other was the adjoining room, when they were laughing and talking I clearly heard their conversations, which makes me think that people heard mine the previously. That didn't make me feel good.

Dashawna was an absolute gem, my girlfriend and I drive 6 and a half hours from Syracuse NY straight through to here and she upgraded us to an immaculate suite as soon as she heard that. Her customer service was fantastic, and she gave us several incredible recommendations for things to do/places to eat while we were in town. 10/10 will recommend her, and this hotel to anyone that will listen.

Hotel location was excellent. Right by a metro stop and the start of the National Mall. Can't get a better location for exploring DC. Hotel itself was pretty nice. Large rooms and comfy beds. A few oddities but that's probably my Englishness showing. Only two gripes. Firstly - the Locally collected mandatory fees/taxes were not clear when I booked on Hotels.com which meant an additional unexpected 170 dollar fee on top of what I was paying - probably me not reading the small print and not the hotels fault - and two breakfast is provided by a diner round the corner. They give you a 12 dollar voucher which won't really buy you anything so you end up paying about 20 bucks on top of this anyway for Avacado and toast with coffee plus a tip. Combine that with pretty frosty service and my advice is just don't bother. Get breakfast somewhere else.

Simple and easy hotel, great for business travelers. they tack on a $25 "amenity fee" which includes a buffet breakfast of poor Holiday Inn level quality. But the location is excellent, rooms nicely sized, and the scale feels human so i will be back!

Property location was great, room was clean and good sized, however it definitely could use a refresh, as our room appeared to be quite old. Breakfast area was so crowded, it wasn’t pleasant to try to get to the various food items. Breakfast offerings were average so we went elsewhere. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

Excellent hotel--good room, good staff, good facilities. Only one complaint: if you offer breakfast, make sure you get enough eggs. Otherwise, everything was first rate.
