What guests think

Mountain Thunder Lodge draws praise for its walkable, near-gondola location and quiet, condo-style units with full kitchens, while many guests highlight friendly staff, useful shuttle service, and generally clean, spacious accommodations across different room types.

Common drawbacks include no air conditioning, periods when the elevator was out, and occasional maintenance or odor issues. Pools and hot tubs are popular, though guests sometimes encountered closures, temperature problems, or amenity fees. Expect a convenient base with condo comforts near the slopes and town, but plan for mountain-style ventilation instead of AC.

The property did call us and let us know that the elevators were not working. Still not fixed by end of trip. We were supposed to get a bottle of wine with our stay, but that never happened. This was off season, and maybe they didn't care? Beautiful room with a very private and big balcony. I love Breckenridge and exploring the town over Labor Day weekend. We will try to stay here again as the location is key to walking. Climbing stairs to 4th floor was not fun.

Hotel staff and property in general were great! Our room was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately the elevator was out of order the entire time we were there, and the room was on the third floor, which created a hardship of hauling luggage up and down three flights of stairs. Once the elevator is fixed this property is a 10/10.

This property has easy access to town and to the gondola to get up to the slopes. There is a shuttle that will take you back and forth. The drivers are helpful, even helped us get our groceries on and off. The grocery is very close. Everything about it was convenient. Would definitely stay again. Campbell at the front desk was awesome!

I would not suggest this property. 6 rooms family reunion I chose the pay when get there option, but my card(only entered to secure reservation)was charged in full by the property 2 days prior to check in. When I called to question it, they said they would refund it but it took 3 days to show up and because a refund was in process, we had to put an another card to check in. The room appeared “clean” and was equipped as listed however we were surprised there was NO A/C only a cheap box fan in each room. The TV did not work and when we called down about that they sent a guy up. He did something to “reset the Dish” The refrigerator did not cool our groceries over night and when they sent someone up about that, he said it was our fault and “we must not have shut the door” The wooden blinds on the windows did not open or close and broken pieces were under the couch. Because there was no A/C we kept the windows open for airflow. Although it is a “no smoking” resort, every time we returned to the room we could tell that the folks below us were enjoying their canibus as our room had the pungent scent. We were informed upon arrival that housekeeping was only offered for a separate charge but if we needed anything to let them know. The shower in the master had mold in the corners. It was a beautiful setting and a great resort town and the proximity to everything was nice. The parking garage was enclosed and safe. We enjoyed Brekenridge but if we return, we will stay elsewhere.

We had a great stay at Breckenridge Mount Thunder Lodge. The studio we were in, however, had too much furniture crammed into it. We couldn't open the wardrobe for the couch in the way and there were no drawers for storage. The surfaces needed a good dust. A full kitchen was appreciated. The front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. We loved the hot spa and pool inclusions. MTL is located close to town and restaurant choices are great. The included shuttle was useful and the free town trolley stops were nearby. Would recommend with more questions asked about room design options.

I am familiar with this place have stayed here before but this unit had a few issues. Stains on the carpet, looked like they tried to clean before we got there there were more spots I talked to front desk about it, they said their carpet cleaner broke. The sink had an issue as well. But we only used the sink to rinse out our coffee mugs and our two glass salad bowls. Wishing the carpet was a little cleaner but we didn't spend much time in the unit we were gone all day.

Great location in relation to Main Street restaurants and shops but our room in had a view of a parking lot and parking structure on the other side of a busy street. The room had no a/c so we opened windows at night which resulted in allowing considerable noise into the room. Last, the blinds on the windows did little to keep light out of the bedroom in the morning.

Loved this property. Very comfortable and clean, pool was great for a summer visit. I will say that when it is hot, and there is no AC in the unit we stayed in, airflow was poor and it never cooled down even during the night. So, sadly, it was poor for sleeping in the hot season. But, next time I will find a work around by locating an extra fan. I will definitely go back!

The stay was absolutely lovely! We were in a one bedroom condo and had plenty of space for the two of us. Convenient to Main Street and the gondala, and the property had a complimentary shuttle bus if needed (we didn't use it as we walked everywhere). The only downside to this place is the rooms do not have air conditioning so you have to open the windows and run the provided fans, which can get a bit loud if you have loud neighbors. Also their elevator was out so had to do stairs (no biggie for us, but some people may not be able to do them).Would def stay again!!

We booked a room for 4 adults. The room was a 1 bedroom with a pull out couch in living room. Since it was for only one night we were ok with that. The pull out couch was not something you could sleep on!! The mattress was so old and literally 2 inches thick with metal bars poking through. My husband and I slept (if you could call it sleep) on the couch cushions! We were also told our reservation included a bottle of wine. We asked for the wine on two separate occasions but never received it!👎
