What guests think

At Comfort Suites Visalia - Convention Center, guests praise the walkable downtown location and friendly staff, while spacious suites and a generally satisfying breakfast make stays comfortable, though street noise, a slow elevator, and dated touches appear in reviews.

Rooms are often clean and roomy, but some guests report odors, worn carpets, or occasional pests. Parking is in an adjacent garage that some find convenient and secure and others find limited or confusing; there is no pool, and the breakfast area can feel small and crowded at peak times. Expect a good-value base with solid comforts, plus a few urban and building quirks.

The staff was friendly and the woman that worked in the breakfast area was fantastic. She was welcoming and constantly refreshed and resupplied the food and beverages to make us all feel well taken care of. My major complaint was that the elevator took forever, and was so slow that it made staying on the 3rd floor seem like the 20th. The hotel is in a great location and I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was a great place to stay near the Sequoia National Forest. It is about a 45 minute drive to get to the entrance of the park and was an easy drive. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of space. Breakfast was also great with lots of options to choose from. The only thing we had trouble with was finding parking later in the evening after getting back to the hotel. There are spaces reserved for Comfort Inn, however, those were full when we came back we think due to an event being held at the convention center. We were still able to find parking in the garage, but we had to go up higher, so we wish there were potentially more reserved spots for hotel guests. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would come back again!

Adjacent to Old Town and the convention center this property a short walk to restaurants, a variety of shops and brew bubs. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Better instructions for using the provided parking lot would be helpful. One has to park in the limited transient parking or on the street, check in then use their room key card to access the parking garage.

This property is close to many restaurants and bars. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. The only issues I had was the fact that it was really noisy at night with traffic and people from the surrounding businesses (bars). It was also hard to find a close parking spot due to limited spots for hotel guests. We had to park on the 3rd story of parking garage (which is not accessible through the hotel).

Some towels were stained and the bed comforted. Pull out bed sheets didn’t seem that clean either. Didn’t like the overall smell of the property. Not sure if it’s a spray they use. Enjoyed the breakfast they served every morning. I would encourage they change how they make the eggs. They were awful. So watered down the texture and flavor were gross. Best part was the waffles.

The room was specious and very comfortable. The Inn is conveniently located near excelent coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The surrounding area was vibrant, safe and nice for an evening stroll. The only markdown for me was the dirty windows - the unit was very clean.

We, 3 ladies and 1 teenage young man, stayed in a 2 queen beds and sofa bed room. The bedroom area was mostly separated from the living room area by the bathroom. If you want sleep do NOT stay here! We had music blaring at our second floor window until 1:00 in the morning.sounded like street performers right outside our window. We were told it was a bar and that there was really nothing they could do for us except offer earplugs. I asked for a different room and was told there weren’t any available, but then an hour later when I was at the desk getting earplugs there were new guests just finishing checking in. I ask for a refund considering there would we little or no sleep happening and was told there was nothing she could do. So aggravating. Also the automatic motion lights turning on in th whole place any time you get up to use the bathroom are a joke. There needs to be some way to completely turn those off so you don’t wake up others guests in the room. The whole hotel smells like overuse of bathroom spray that’s trying to cover up musty mildew smell.

The location of the hotel was great and really enjoyed the continental breakfast. But what was not so great was the elevator, it was loud, the door didn't always want to close, and it shook when it was getting to the floor you needed. The other thing was the beds. We used both the king size bed and the pull out bed, but we did not find them comfortable and the little fluff of pillows offered no support.

Everything looks good except my credit card was charged twice, once before checkin and once at check in..when I raised the issue with reception I was told that the first charge was just an authorization, not a sale. Of course I had no way of seeing the difference. Was told that the first charge would drop off after a few days. I guess I don't have any choice but to trust that this would happen. The reception staff were all very nice and even provided me with paperwork in case I'm charged twice, but I'm left to wonder if I would be charged twice for the few days that both charges stay in pending. I think an improvement can be made by just charging the amount once either before check or at check in, to save guests the worry of a double charge and any impending dispute over the charge.

Surprisingly, this chain hotel in this small not fancy town was above our expectations. Very clean, not outdated, very well maintained, easily accessible, large rooms, lights, 2 large screen TVs, bathroom- all in place and operating, all very clean, NO SMELLS. The only imperfections was the low water pressure in the shower, mand the breakfast- the menu is minimalistic and unappetizing: I am not interested in pork patties or sausages with tasteless scrambled eggs from susbstitutes. Thermosed hot coffee, sugary juices, no fresh fruits except apples. There were many international visitors and I felt embarrassed for my country, as the equal class hotels overseas offer much better variety and higher quality of breakfast items. Other than that- great hotel, pleasant stay and I totally recommend it.
