Unique historical hotel in lower Nob Hill. We enjoyed the free happy hour and breakfast buffet. The library is a highlight for me. I will return.

# Negatives The property is very dated and smells bad. Upon arrival the sheets and duvet cover were stained and the blanket had holes and smelled awful. I ended up sleeping with a sweater on all through my stay so that I didn't have to cover myself with any of that. Additionally, the bathroom didn't have a way to turn on the fan (I asked housekeeping too) which meant that the room would get humid with steam and I had to open the windows which didn't have screens. One day I returned to the room only to find a huge fly buzzing around. Also there was black mold in several places in the bathroom. Overall disgusting. # Positives The location is great if you need to be around Union Square and Marriott is right around the corner to spend time working off of their lounge. I would not stay there again though I support their cause.
