Disappointing to say the least. I’m not at all fussy with hotel rooms - in fact, I’m quite forgiving. The service: horrible. The manager who checked me in collected an $80 cash deposit and denied me it at checkout stating it was towards the room charge when I made the reservation. The rooms: 307 had holes in the walls by the sink, behind the two power outlets, damaged curtains, a mattress with nails sticking out from it immediately outside the door to room 307. The room had blood stains throughout the floor, the shower leaked a significant amount of water out the bathroom, and mold was growing on the skylight. The smoke alarm was disabled and torn off the wall (the Fire Marshall needs to give this place a walk through). Employees are violently throwing, smashing and destroying debris in the parking lot at all hours of the night with no consideration for guest quite hours, and there is hardly any parking when being taken up by employees dumpster. Also they just began charging $20 for daily parking. The room is gross and it’s not up to code. Stay away. Not safe for kids. Great if you like bugs.

Hotel staff is always welcoming and friendly. Housekeeping always helpful and quick to respond w/assistance. Property undergoing construction just to be aware. Smart TV (Roku) and mini fridge/micro all is working order. Rooms meet basic standards. In a great location close to transportation and Market Street! (Only 3 blocks away)

Bad from beginning to end. When I showed up, none of the parking was available due to contractors being present and taking up half the spaces with vehicles and materials. My room did not have towels when I arrived, and I was only given 1 bar of soap. The microwave did not have a glass plate, so things put in the microwave would not rotate and cook properly. The faucet was scalding hot, except for one spot where you barely got a trickle of room temperature water. Due to the contractors being present there were materials scattered around the place and in the parking lot. The work was also extremely noisy and made sleeping in or napping very difficult. The door to my room latched flimsily and felt insecure. The room did not have a deadbolt lock to use on the inside. The bedsheets are poor. The comforter has a sheet on top and bottom due to the fact that it's covered in little burn holes. The list goes on.

Stayed here a second time because it was convenient with free underground parking. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and the room had no closet or anywhere to hang anything. A couple of hooks would have gone a long way. Ice machine did not work and the stairs were a lot after a whole day of walking in the city. Stayed for 4 days and had to have my key card rekeyed each day.

This is a motel. Nothing more. Broken ice machine; room walls dirty; towels dingy. But there was a working microwave and fridge in the room so that was nice. A bleak place but neighborhood has some interesting places. Parking on site is a plus. And contrary to the website, they obviously offer no breakfast and the parking fee may or may not be included.

This a motel. If you're looking for a luxury hotel experience, you will be disappointed. Compared to other motels, this is a nice place to stay especially if the location is convenient for your plans. It's in SoMa which is not so much centrally located but more like "adjacent." I find the in-room refrigerator and microwave to be very useful. At this time (mid-2025), rooms are being renovated and rooms are rented that are "in progress." They are suitable for use but unfinished. That said, the renovated sections are very attractive. While there's a very nice wall-mounted television, personally I don't fully understand how it works. It's not cable/satellite but (I think) Roku. Even so, I can always find something interesting to watch. Staff seems friendly and helpful. They even had the form you have to sign at check-in printed prior to my arrival. It might only save a minute or two but it's a nice touch.

The #1 consideration for me was free parking. This was one of only three hotels in the whole SoMa area that offered free parking. The number of spaces was very limited, but there was one available for me, so I was satisfied. Unfortunately, some trash materialized behind my car overnight) but I don\'t think that was the hotel\'s fault. That\'s the reason for my "poor" rating for the surrounding area.

In town for a concert at DNA lounge. I arrived early, parked my car for free, and walked around the city until the show started. There is food, nightlife, and a grocery store within a couple blocks. After the show I walked back to the room. Had another show the next night, walked to the BART station and did the same thing. Check in was easy. Service was great. Convenience was stellar. I probably saved more on parking than I spent for two nights.

I stayed here for a night and nice part is there is free parking right there but it’s limited. Think there is maybe 12 spots. I was able to walk to Oracle park from there. Took about 30 minutes and I felt safe doing so as a solo female. Next block is a Trader Joe’s and there are some bars around to grab a drink. The room itself was meh. The bathroom was super nice but I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the bed sheets so I slept on top. The microwave didn’t work so that was a bummer. There was something leaking so the floor kept getting wet near the front door. Overall I’d tell others to stay here but surely know it’s cheap yet you get what you pay for.

If place seems run down. Cleanliness doesn't seem to be a high priority here. Room smelled like cigarette smoke. The smoke detector was disconnected and in a drawer. Bed “comforter” was covered in cigarette burn holes. Lots of random hair everywhere from the sheets to the towels. It did have a microwave but it was missing the glass plate. No ac only heat. If you just need a place to sleep and pack a sleeping bag it’s fine. If you plan on being in the room a lot definetly look elsewhere. Very limited parking but hey it was free. Guy at the desk seemed very friendly.

Everything was dirty. Didnt want to take a shower because bath towels were dirty . Hair on floor and bed . Used our t-shirts to cover pillow cases to sleep . Only positive was they had free parking in san Francisco. 30 minute walk to Chase Center .

Extremely unclean, mold in the bathroom stains on the towels, pillows, walls and sheets. Uncomfortable old bed, dust everywhere, breakfast included Famous Amos cookies, Honeybuns and tea. Very minimal parking and dangerous neighborhood.

The first room they put me in was stained and dirty. I complained and they moved me to another room, a bit better but not much. The towels were threadbare and had hairs stuck in them. The air conditioner leaked and left a puddle on the floor which I had to clean up myself with one of the only 2 towels they gave me. I was there for 4 nights and not once did someone come to clean the room or check if I needed clean towels. The property is in poor condtion.

Bed was made, but clearly it had not been vacuumed, wiped down (spills and splatters), and fridge still had previous occupants food. There were holes in the walls (peep? bullet?) I was ready to stay in my car. They did move me to another room, still very outdated and dank, but an improvement. TVs did not work, everyday they said a technician was supposed to come out, never happened. At least there was wifi for my laptop so I could watch netflix. Walkway runs in front of the room windows, so you have to keep windows shut and drapes closed the entire stay. I will NEVER stay here again. The perks were, really nice staff that wanted to be helpful, working A/C, strong coffee in the lobby, and free parking if you can get a spot. Lots of street parking available at night, but the area is seedy. This place needs a major overhaul.

It’s hard to relax when the room above you is doing heavy construction from early morning and into the evening. It would be wise for staff to at the very least acknowledge the mess and give guests an idea of what to expect as opposed to giving zero warning. A disappointing stay.

Rooms are in the process of being renovated. I stay in one of the more updated rooms. Upgraded Large Samsung Smart TV, Renovated lighting and outlets/smartplugs, upgraded bathroom w/large walk in shower. Room was exceptionally cleaned. Location is in a great part of SOMA. Rates are usually priced decently, I recommend this property.

This was the second time in a full year I've stayed here. After the first time, I had no desire to ever come back. But they tried to assure me they were "renovating". I paid a bit extra for one of the renovated rooms, "Room #3" and it smelled like Pot the moment I stepped into the "non-smoking room." Burning a candle never got rid of the smell. The power outlets on the wall were open with exposed wires. The door on the closet was off its hinges and wouldn't stay up. The TV remote did not turn on the TV, even putting in new batteries. The renovated shower has a rain shower head improperly installed. They are supposed to be there to four inches from the fall minimum so that the water falls on you. They just screwed it to the existing pipe. And there was so little water pressure you basically had to get as close to the wall as possible to get wet. The worst shower experience in a hotel ever. And I travel for work every weekend 46 weeks a year. I took pictures of all the issues if there is some place to put them up.

Property was decent. Very nice furnished rooms. Seems like they were remodeled recently. The staff and service were friendly and accommodating. Found some ants in the bathroom during one of my days which was unpleasant and there was water leaking from around the sink. The internet service was also quite bad and could not watch tv without it buffering.

TV never worked, stayed here for 4 days. Guy kept claiming that he's 'fix' the TV AKA put a new card in it but that never happened. Door was covered in some gross brown liquid, obv was never cleaned. Walls were dirty, furniture was dirty. Good if you just need a spot to stay and be in the city, not good for extended or if you want to relax. Breakfast was coffee and doughnuts lol Wont do again

Disappointing to say the least. I’m not at all fussy with hotel rooms - in fact, I’m quite forgiving. The service: horrible. The manager who checked me in collected an $80 cash deposit and denied me it at checkout stating it was towards the room charge when I made the reservation. The rooms: 307 had holes in the walls by the sink, behind the two power outlets, damaged curtains, a mattress with nails sticking out from it immediately outside the door to room 307. The room had blood stains throughout the floor, the shower leaked a significant amount of water out the bathroom, and mold was growing on the skylight. The smoke alarm was disabled and torn off the wall (the Fire Marshall needs to give this place a walk through). Employees are violently throwing, smashing and destroying debris in the parking lot at all hours of the night with no consideration for guest quite hours, and there is hardly any parking when being taken up by employees dumpster. Also they just began charging $20 for daily parking. The room is gross and it’s not up to code. Stay away. Not safe for kids. Great if you like bugs.

My toilet seat was cracked so I had to put paper towels to cover it or pinch my legs. The floor wasn’t very clean when I go there (I give some allowance but still), surfaces were cleaned ok tho. Shower was clean. Bed was very comfortable and pillows. AC and heater worked well. It’s a cheap motel, which I recognize but you have to repair your toilets and actually do a more thorough clean before a new occupant shows up. Also there are no front desk people half the day, seems like just during check in.

This is the first time I've stayed at the San Francisco Inn (I visit SF every other month, but the hotel I usually stay at was fully booked). The staff was very friendly, the room was more spacious than the rooms at my "regular" hotel, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It's also well situated: only 20-minute walk from Civic Center BART, but for me, a bit further to the places I needed to go (25-minute walk vs 10). I will definitely keep it in mind when I book accommodation for my next visits in SF.

I booked this room a week later that this trip. They canceled my reservation without notice and sold my room to someone else. When I tried to check in the hotel was sold out despite me reserving a room. I’ll make sure to cancel all my future trips to this hotel and never book it again. If you want to avoid surprise cancelation of your trip without any resolution, I’d suggest to look for one of the many other hotels in SoMa that value their long-term customers and don’t use unprofessional business policies

In town for a concert at DNA lounge. I arrived early, parked my car for free, and walked around the city until the show started. There is food, nightlife, and a grocery store within a couple blocks. After the show I walked back to the room. Had another show the next night, walked to the BART station and did the same thing. Check in was easy. Service was great. Convenience was stellar. We had a terrible stay here. The only positive was the free parking spot. Neighborhood is really bad, and other guests were super loud all night. Planned staying for 2 nights but booked a different hotel for the second night. Won't come back.

I stayed here for a night and nice part is there is free parking right there but it’s limited. Think there is maybe 12 spots. I was able to walk to Oracle park from there. Took about 30 minutes and I felt safe doing so as a solo female. Next block is a Trader Joe’s and there are some bars around to grab a drink. The room itself was meh. The bathroom was super nice but I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the bed sheets so I slept on top. The microwave didn’t work so that was a bummer. There was something leaking so the floor kept getting wet near the front door. Overall I’d tell others to stay here but surely know it’s cheap yet you get what you pay for.

Love this hotel!! This hotel is in the most convenient location, and it even has protected, and covered, parking free with the reservation!! Just a free parking alone is worth the stay !! But honestly I got to tell you about the rooms, because that's what we're here for right? Before they started renovating the rooms were okay, but now that they have renovated most of the rooms, this place is top notch! The rooms are very clean, for the first time ever. I did feel like I needed to bring my own bedding, especially because they notably wash everything, but they also clean the pillows! Pillows! Imagine That! It's such a wonderful feeling checking into a hotel that keeps my car safe and protected with cameras and also from the rain, but also having a wonderful feeling of safety when I just simply lay my head down on a freaking pillow that's not mine! You guys/gals/other... I'm telling you... This is the place! If you want to make sure that you, your family, and even your CAR, is feeling safe? Come to San Francisco Inn. If you worry about seeing it all, this hotels convenient location will help with this. If you want you're clothes and business suit to be hung or folded and put into nice drawers? Gotta stay here. Good for the price- they provided microwave, fridge, toiletries, linens, iron, coffee maker in the room. Free parking. A Trader Joes is down the street. No drinking water, no tea, you have to go down two floors to the office and ask for it. No water cooler. No daily room cleaning. No elevator. Neighborhood is not great.

Requested for non- smoking room, but given to me really smoking embedded room 3 the carpet was really unclean 4. Very noisy even during the mid night 5. There is NOTHING that would entice me to stay in that hotel again, ever. They advertise free parking and breakfast. Neither is true. 1) There are thirty rooms and nine parking spots for thirty rooms, that are all too close together. On night one, with zero parking spots, the clerk came out and guided me into a non-spot, but then at 4:30 am, I got a knock on the door telling me I had to come down and move the car. I politely asked for a partial refund for that night given my kids and I only got four hours sleep before being barged in on, and they simply ignored that, and didn't so much as apologize. On night two the rental car got dented by another driver because the spots are too narrow for any car. ANY savings you get are worthless if your family is wakened in the middle of the night by the staff and then have to file an insurance claim. 2) The breakfast was non-existent. On the second morning the desk clerk said "we're out" which meant only that they'd run out of 25 cent costco "danishes"... because that's all you get from their useless free breakfast. Not a yogurt, or box of cereal, or juice, or milk, or boiled egg.... garbage. In addition, neither the refrigerator nor the hairdryer worked. The hotel has zero interest in addressing their shortcomings. In matters the hotel doesn't directly control, the neighborhood is loud until well after midnight with rap music blaring and motorcycles gunning their engines.

Love this hotel!! This hotel is in the most convenient location, and it even has protected, and covered, parking free with the reservation!! Just a free parking alone is worth the stay !! But honestly I got to tell you about the rooms, because that's what we're here for right? Before they started renovating the rooms were okay, but now that they have renovated most of the rooms, this place is top notch! The rooms are very clean, for the first time ever. I did feel like I needed to bring my own bedding, especially because they notably wash everything, but they also clean the pillows! Pillows! Imagine That! It's such a wonderful feeling checking into a hotel that keeps my car safe and protected with cameras and also from the rain, but also having a wonderful feeling of safety when I just simply lay my head down on a freaking pillow that's not mine! You guys/gals/other... I'm telling you... This is the place! If you want to make sure that you, your family, and even your CAR, is feeling safe? Come to San Francisco Inn. The guys at reception were really helpful. Parking is limited but it is available. Breakfast is basically coffee and pastries in the reception office with nowhere to sit and eat.

Have to pay $20 for parking if you want to park at the hotel parking lot that has homeless people hanging around and was told by business owners and people break-ins is a serious problem so be aware do not leave anything of value in your vehicles. Was caught off guard about having a Clean Safe "Crack" kit in the room as a added bonus if you need such a thing (WOW). I would not recommend for any single lady's or elderly.
