Best Western Porterville Inn

There were a lot of ants in my room. It was very noisy in the morning when the doors self close. Pool water was dirty. This hotel needs a lot of improvements.

Pool area was nice.

It was the best stay. I was able to relax all day and go to the pool and hot tub with no issues. The room had a bathtub which I love. The room was huge for just me and my dog. Pet friendly for a small fee. Ohh and I can’t forget the free breakfast. Me and my sister sat at the pool in the night and watched the full moon come up over the building.

I don’t like that the pool wasn’t available

The location was convenient for us. We stayed two nights. The staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and in good condition. The breakfast was ok. There were many options to choose from. It was quite crowded in there both mornings. The hot tub door was broken and we could not get in. If it wasn't for my 9 years old small hand to reach in and open it from the other side, we would not have been able to use it. They need to get that fixed or prop it open. Finally I am not sure if they have noticed but their American flag out front is in terrible shape and shredded. They need to retire that and get another one. If they display the flag, at least make sure it looks good.

It was fine for our one night stay. Felt safe and parking was easy. They have a nice pool that I wish we had more time to take a dip into.

Good hotel. Will stay again. Just a few comments: Check In staff member was a little off putting and short in his words. TV didn't work in room Pool was quite dirty. Breakfast was awesome AC was amazing especially in July. Very convenient and ease of parking. Will stay again for sure.

Love the new TVs that allow you to cast from your phone. Thanks for that. Also they have really comfortable beds and the rooms are really clean. Pool area is very enjoyable in the morning for coffee

Staff was very helpful. Clean hotel and pool area. lots of options for breakfast.

Checked in late to find out the elevator was down. Employee said sorry and they were sold out. If it was a problem they could refund our money. Ummmm its 1030 at night, I'll deal with the elevator being down.

Ants in the room was quite unfortunate. We stay here once a year and it’s always a decent stay for the price and location.

Room wasn’t clean , we found dirty men’s socks by the bed , hair in the shower etc

The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were extremely kind. My reason for 0 cleanliness is because there were cockroaches in the breakfast room. NUMEROUS!

Bathroom was not clean door and wall

Our room was not cleaned before we checked in. There was bread crumbs all over the carpet and tv console. The trash bins were filled with trash and food. The bathroom was not cleaned. There were someone else’s earrings by the sink. There was a dirty diaper in the trash bin. The bed had indentations like someone was previously sitting on the bed. There were dead bugs, looked like mosquitoes, by the pillows. I called reception to let them know our room was previously used and not cleaned after, and I wanted a different room. He said all the rooms were checked out for the night. Then I asked if house keeping come and at least tidy up the room and provide us with at least hand soap, new towels and new bed sheets. He said that housekeeping was already gone for the day. It was late, I was exhausted. I tried to book another hotel room around the area but there was no vacancy. He, reception, showed up to our door and took pictures of all the issues with the room, and so did I. He was very apologetic but I was very frustrated because my husband and I all we wanted is to to sleep and not worry about a dirty room that had no fresh towels or hand soap, etc. I wasn’t expecting luxury. I know where I booked the room, but at the very least, I expected a tidy up room with the bare essentials. I paid full price and I want a refund. The “owner” as the the staff said, was out on vacation and wasn’t going to be back until Tuesday. That he would call me back. I haven’t received any calls yet.

The room wasn’t very clean at all. Towels were dirty and had hair on them. Toilet was clogged and almost overflowed everywhere. I freaked out when I pulled the sheets back and there was a brown piece of dirt or something under the sheet. Safe didn’t work and microwave didn’t work. Pool was nice. Staff were nice. Hot tub was ok, not very hot and jets didn’t work very well at all.

The pool area needed some attending the light post had so many spider webs I was afraid the mama spider would pop out of nowhere. It says its dog friendly but there is no designated area for dogs they have to be walked outside the property. The room smelled weird. The front desk personnel was super dry. Not welcoming at all. Been here before because of family that leave in porterville. But not sure I’ll be back here.

Meh. Hallway smelled of marijuana. Room was clean. Mold smell from the a/c unit. Super soft beds. For the price I will probably pay a few more dollars for the Holiday Inn for our next trip to Porterville.

A lot of heavy semi-truck traffic due to the distribution center nearby. Fortunately the noise was not audible inside the room. The staff was super accommodating with our request for extra pillows. The room was large and quite comfortable.

We were on the bottom floor the people above us were stomping around pretty loudly but other than that everything was just fine.

Overall, the hotel was…fine? Much of it seemed very outdated: bathroom decor seemed old, carpet in hallways had holes in it, the lobby was leaking when it rained. Compared to the much nicer Holiday Inn that is 50 yards away, Best Western seems pretty run-down. But the prices are decent, and if you’re just looking for a place to stay then this is fine.

The room was soo spacious.

Not enough television stations. And the remote control was hard to use. It wouldn't change channels very well. Had to press the channel change button several times just to get one station change.

Rooms, cleanliness, staff, breakfast almost everything was good except the bathroom sinks and bathroom exhaust fans. It was steam all over when we took shower and sink water didn’t go through properly.

This is probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time. Absolutely fantastic room with one problem- the location. Room 204 shouldn’t be rented unless every other room is full. 1. It’s across from the elevator. 2. Everyone who has to get to their room walks by this one. 3. The stairs go down the side of the room. This means you hear every single person either clicking their heels on the stairs or the clunk of the elevator. 4. The window is directly under the door and faces the parking lot. You will hear every person ( including staff btw) and every car. Speaking of staff- the two women at the front desk ( don’t recall the names) were more interested in talking about other guests than talking to me. Otherwise- beautiful grounds, fantastic room, great breakfast- just stay away from 204.

Pretty disappointed with best Western. We checked in pretty late after getting off the lake then quickly got to sleep. I unfortunately did not realize it because the air conditioning fan was blowing when we checked into the room, but there apparently was no working cold air because we woke up at about 4 AM all completely sweating in about an 85° room. Thankfully, there was one more room available all the way across the other side of the hotel on another floor. I asked them to verify if the air-conditioning works she said I can check myself. In which I did because I have a three and a five-year-old sleeping in our room absolutely ridiculous that they would check us into a room without air-conditioning and then not be helpful when our stay is being ruined in the middle of the night. I also requested some extra shampoo prior to this in the evening I also was instructed to have to go pick it up at the front desk. Very disappointed with the customer service here..

Great spot in Porterville with a super friendly staff. Room was clean and quiet and breakfast options were good.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze.

Hotel staff was rude and no one was on the same page. Everyone had different answers for everything. No one knew what to do or had correct information. Extremely rude.

There was no electricity for several hours on the night of stay. They refused to provide a refund or any compensation for the inconvenience caused.

Front lobby staff was great

The front desk lady could have been a bit friendlier, but the hotel itself was very clean and worth the money I spent.

Checked in on 6/19 at around 6:45pm. The gentleman at the front desk was courteous, prompt and welcoming. It was a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Accommodations were fine. Quiet place, which is what I needed. Secure and great that there was a Denny's around the corner! Will book again in the future.

Second time staying here for over 3 days. Hotel is nice inside and room is very functional. They have breakfast for guests.staff is friendly and prompt for requests. The only issue I had was outside the property lots of garbage and spilled drinks,etc.cigarette butts galore and a few people sleeping ,living? in their cars and RV,s no issues but can become one if they allow them taking up parking lot.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s near gas stations and not too far from the town center.

Nothing unique about this hotel. Just a little better than average hotel. It was clean and fairly quiet. The clerk did address my need for a quiet room which I greatly appreciated. I stay at this hotel whenever I’m in town. Would definitely recommend to travelers.

clerk did not know what he was doing. Phone message light was on in room he did not know how to turn off. He provided incorrect directions to room. Breakfast was cold. had to go back three times to get keys that worked for the room.. I will not stay at the best western porterville again

Great breakfast!

Everthing was up to our expectations, fast easy check in to checkout. Breakfast was a pleasant experience, quality and quanitity. Price was certanily in line with the norms of the time.

The front desk support was amazing; they were very knowledgeable and incredibly polite when answering our questions. The rooms were exceptionally clean and cozy, and the views were fantastic. The breakfast was also a highlight, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. I will definitely be visiting again the next time I'm in the area.
