I really liked the indoor pool in hot tub. And the beds were very comfortable. Nice fluffy sheets, filters and pillows, and when asked after hours for more towels, they quickly obliged. The breakfast I gave it a 5 star.

Rooms are excellent. Free coffee in room. They could upgrade to a Keurig coffee maker. No microwave. Room had convenient bottles of water for a charge. The hotel has self serve laundry, 2 wash, 2 dry. The have a convenience store, restaurant and bar in lobby. Close to train station and food.

What surprised me was the added Destination Fee of $9.99/day when I saw the receipt at checkout. I was not made aware during check-in about that additional daily charge. If I had known then that the added fee was just for the use of the gym and pool, I probably would have opted out. The use of gym and pool normally is not an add-on to the daily hotel rate for hotels I've stayed at.

They charge $25 for parking now. There was blood splattered all over the room so we had to move. The next room was also dirty and had windows were so filthy you could barely see out of them. Sad because I’ve stayed here in the past and it was great. Not sure why it has gone down hill.

The property was a very nice size and the rooms were nice as well. The cleaning of the room could have been better. There was still some hair from previous guests left in the bathroom and room. Overall, the room was nice, organized, and a good size. I would stay at this property again. Also, we paid for parking and the gate was up the entire weekend. Anyone could enter and exit.

Very comfortable room with a great couch to relax on. Bed was one of the better I've found in a hotel. Building is older but seems be kept up great. Location is close to shopping and dining on Bay St, and easy access on and off the freeway. I was pleasantly surprised that even though we were on the 4th floor facing the freeway (and great bay view) the sounds from the freeway was very well suppressed and didnt keep us up.

Sonesta is the 1st hotel I've been to where they do not clean your room unless you request it. And the request must be at least 1 day in advance. The hotel itself is old and tired, and the staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. Upon checking out, I had to ask for a payment receipt several times before they gave it to me. I paid $277/night for 2 nights (plus $25/day parking and $10/day facility fee) during move-in week for UC Berkeley, and it was definitely not worth the price paid.

I called enroute to the hotel and asked if I could check in once I arrived which was @ 2:45 pm, Once I arrived the lady at the front desk checked my sister into her room and told me I had to wait to be checked in even though there were available rooms…

It was a nice location for Family Weekend for University of Utah - access to the Saturday farmer's market was a bonus and it's a straight shot up the street to campus. Little sketchy area as there was unknowingly a homeless shelter around the corner so that made us a bit uneasy.

Everything was perfect. Hotel was amazing and clean. Only thing that was very disappointing was the breakfast. We got "vouchers" that were only good for what they called a buffet. The buffet was literally eggs sausage and potatoes. The staff member said our voucher was for $21 and buffet was $31 but that it was ok like if he was doing me a favor.

We visited UC Berkeley for one afternoon during the Holidays and stayed one night at Sonesta Emeryville. It is located conveniently close to UCB and also there is a large shopping mall right across the street. Otherwise, location is not especially great. It's a good looking hotel relatively clean. There is a pricey restaurant located on the ground floor where you can purchase breakfast and/or lunch. Parking fee is high, but for one night it was alright. Staff was very eloquent and courteous.

Pretty decent place to stay in Emeryville. Price was affordable and the rooms were decent. The bed and pillows and sheets were comfortable and it has central A/C. The carpet was pretty gross though and our feet literally felt moist and slightly sticky after walking on it bare feet. They had a small gym that we always saw someone using when we went by it. Parking was plentiful and gated and cost $25 per night. We didn't try the pool or the restaurant. Location is great for public transit and access to the freeway and Bay Bridge. Also close to numerous shopping centers in the area. Our room was also quiet. The shower has the lowest water pressure ever and the toilet seat was barely attached to the toilet.
