Stayed 2 nights

We came to Cambria Pines Lodge to celebrate our 20th anniversary at the same gazebo where it all started.  The grounds were almost as nice as we remembered them. The lodge front desk staffing was pleasant.  Our room (# 411) appeared to have been recently updated. Regretfully, our room’s walls and ceiling are acoustically transparent. We had to listen to everyone in the hallway, in rooms adjacent to or above and outside.  To make things worse, the main second floor outside stairway is physically attached to the same wall as our headboards.  We were forced to listening to other customers climbing the stairs to their rooms until 1 AM. Foot traffic began again at 6AM.  Needless to say we did not get much shut eye that night. Exhausted from the lack of sleep, we returned to our room around 2 PM to try to catch a nap. It was not to happen. The cleaning staff was easily heard constantly talking and playing her music loudly. Finally, without any rest, we went to dinner at the lodge. On our way, I stopped at the Reception Desk, asked if it was possible to get another room and explained why. We were politely told they were fully booked and no other rooms were available. I was then told that I would be compensated at checkout (which never happened). After having spent about 20 nights at the lodge over the years, we were extremely disappointed with our stay. My warning to all is avoid room #411 at all costs if you want a good night’s sleep.
