What guests think

At Courtyard Scottsdale North, travellers consistently praise the friendly, accommodating staff and convenient North Scottsdale location, while several guests note noticeable road or hallway noise and a required paid parking policy.

Many reviewers found rooms spacious or comfortable, but others described dated interiors and aging bathrooms. Cleanliness feedback ranges from very clean to reports of mold, pests, stale linens, and missed detailing. Housekeeping drew mixed comments, and some guests found dining availability limited despite the on-site bistro, bar, and Starbucks. Overall, expect warm service and a convenient base, but weigh age-related trade-offs and variable housekeeping.

1. Description of property does not disclose daily parking fees. Only mentions parking available. 2. Property is off main highway a block down from several high end car dealerships. So the sound of very loud sports cars speeding by is present into the evenings. 3. Pool was area closed during the entire 5 day stay. 4. Cleaning staff entered room 2 hours prior to final checkout while the guest was loading a suitcase into the car and getting breakfast. They threw away a beverage along with moving food that was to be consumed for later on for lunch. Also several items were moved such as a backpack with electronics, clothes, and accessories from one area of the room to the couch. As if the guest, had accidentally forgotten them. Very disappointed with the actions of the cleaning staff, and felt violated as a guest. Will not choose any Courtyard by Marriott properties for any future hotel needs.

It was $11 a day to park , which seems like nota lot but it’s not in a downtown area. Central Phoenix is the only Place in az I’ve ever had to pay to park at a hotel. And there wasn’t complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning.

We were not told there was a parking fee until I received a receipt. It’s not a busy area nor is there a shortage of parking in the several attached parking lots. It’s not a downtown or airport location either. We even questioned the front desk when she asked us to put a parking pass in our car. She just said they required it no mention of a fee. We checked in at 10 pm and were gone by 8 am. I am not happy. Might not stay at a Marriott property after this because we just started a night near the Airport Hilton Garden for the 2nd time this year with out having to pay to park.

Area was convenient to restaurants and freeway. Automatically charged 40 $ for amenities and charged for parking even as paying guest. No complimentary coffee for guests staying at hotel in lobby. Has a Starbucks. Probably due to business conferences held there. Love the area, will stay at different property though,

First of all, we appreciate the awesome sraff! They were so kind, friendly and welcoming, accept the man last night/this morning (6/22/25). He wss awful! Secondly, the cookies were so good, and the outside is just gorgeous. The rooms though, are outdated. Black stuff is in the corners of the walls, and it looks disgusting. The showers are outdated. The linens and towels smell so stale. The floors are so nasty (ewww, just get a mop). It was a lysol spraying time. I honestly wouldn't recommend this hotel. Get upgrades and cleanliness please! I want to rate on Google, but the staff was so nice, that I don't want to do the hotel like that. Please do better.

Disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. The shower had long black hairs in it as if it had not been cleaned (my hair is short & blonde) and the towels were rough feeling and had an odor as if they weren’t fresh. I expected better from this property given the location.

I wish I could send had black mold in the outside, back corner of every shower we looked at including their sister property on the same site. The showers all have a very obvious design flaw: There is a 1/8” gap between the door and drain track and adjoining wall. You can literally see the water drain into the wall. Marriott makes a marginal effort to cover the problem with putty and caulking but the damage is horribly obvious. I often stay in Marriott hotels but will definitely not stay in this hotel ever again. Enough said.

Not sure why you need to pay for parking, not a busy area at all. There was a huge web on the cealing above the couch scared of spiders, so we had to flip couch to see if there was webs/spiders underneath, looked through curtains for spiders as well. Underneath the couch was filthy like no one sweeps under there and spill marks on floor. The single chair and couch had stains and table didn't look wiped and when we wiped it, the clorox wipe was dirty. Housekeeping entered the room early in the morning on the day of check out while we were still sleeping. Usually trust Marriott facilities but not a good experience. Thought because it was in Scottsdale, thought it would be very nice.

The room was nice but awkward. The windows offered no sound proofing at all you could hear everything happening at the pool especially in the evenings as it cooled off. Kids were at the pool swimming until after 11pm. The front door also didn't offer an sound proofing, you can hear full conversations happening in the hallway as people passed by. Our sink/vanity area, the towel holder was about to fall off the wall (the drywall was coming off around the attempted repair). The TV was oddly half shaded (like someone had maybe punched it or it had fallen) the top half of the TV was dark and the bottom was bright. Weird right!

It was very pleasant stay from the begining to the end - staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel is in good condition inside out and is very clean and rather comfy. Parking is not a problem, location is great also. The only reason I'm not giving full 5* is because soundproofing could be better(my room 357 was facing the main road and it was rather noisy so it may be not suitable for those who can be woken up easily) and the sliding door to the balcony could not be locked(locking mechanism was loose). But I will stay again when next time in Scottsdale because it is a good place with nice people.
