Everything was clean and beautiful grounds! The only thing I would improve would be food choices. But honestly, you get what you pay for and it’s a great value. I have never seen people work harder on groundskeeping in my life.

Our stay at Occidental Cozumel was worth every peso we spent on flights, taxis, and the ferry. Just keep in mind it's a budget-friendly resort, not a luxury one. The food could use some improvement. It would be great to have a taco station or authentic Mexican food available, especially by the beach. The beach is smaller due to erosion, but the water is crystal clear. The first couple of days it was a little murky because of rain, but nothing compared to the sargassum we saw around Playa del Carmen and Cancun. The grounds are very clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly, and it's an easy walk to Allegro Cozumel along the beach. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back.

The staff was amazing and super accommodating. My son is a celiac so buffets are always tricky to navigate or no-gos in general so when I let them know about his condition the staff prepared celiac safe food for him. The room was spacious and clean. The facilities were very nice. Would stay here again.

The only place to eat was the buffet and the food was not good. All the other restaurants were booked the whole week. The only place to get out of the heat was your room.
